Chapter 6 - Chapter 4: The Flame Within

The sun hung high over the mountain peaks, casting long shadows on the monastery's training grounds. The air was thick with the scent of pine and burning incense, but Ravi's focus was razor sharp.

Under the watchful eyes of the elder monk, Master Vihan, Ravi moved through the ancient forms of the Void Palm — the Shunyam Hasta. Each strike was deliberate, a dance between presence and absence, force and silence.

"Feel the emptiness, not as a void to fear," Master Vihan intoned, "but as a space to command. Your power is not just destruction; it is balance."

Ravi's fists moved faster, his breath steady, energy flowing like a silent river beneath his skin. But the Void was wild inside him, whispering chaos. He struggled to keep it tethered.

Suddenly, his foot slipped, and the energy burst uncontrolled — a ripple of nothingness tore through the air, causing nearby trees to wither and birds to scatter.

Master Vihan's eyes were grave. "Control, Ravi. Power without control devours the wielder."

As Ravi wiped sweat from his brow, his mind drifted back to a memory.

Years ago. A village ablaze.

A younger Ravi, no more than ten, watched helplessly as flames consumed his home. His parents fought desperately but were overwhelmed by warlords wielding brutal Devaang powers.

In the chaos, an old monk appeared, stepping through the smoke and guiding Ravi away. "The power you carry is ancient, boy," the monk whispered. "But it is a double-edged sword. The Void will test your spirit."

That night, alone beneath the stars, Ravi touched his palms and felt the first stirrings of emptiness — cold, deep, and endless.

Back in the present, Ravi's gaze hardened. The past was a scar, but also a fire.

"I will master this power," he vowed silently. "And end the warlords' reign."

Kiran approached, wiping dirt from his own bruised knuckles. "Ready for the next round? You're not the only one training hard."

Meera smiled from the sidelines, holding a small bowl of herbal tonic. "And don't forget, even the strongest need friends beside them."

Ravi nodded, feeling the weight of their faith and the fire within. His journey was just beginning.
