Chapter 130: Flame General
Boom!
Ace's fist collided with Jack's mammoth headbutt. The sheer force caused the ground beneath Jack's feet to shatter instantly, and Ace was sent flying.
"So hard!" Ace, regaining control mid-air, steadied himself and shook out his numbed arm. "Even my Armament Type 2: Sky and Dark Hammer couldn't break through. How thick is this guy's skin?"
"Kid, neither your flames nor your Haki can harm me." Jack lumbered forward, each step heavy. "If you've got nothing else, then I'll crush your skull."
"Crush me?" Ace smirked, beckoning. "Then come try!"
"Brat, you're asking for it!" Jack charged forward, rage burning in his eyes.
Ace turned his lower body to flames, easily dodging the charge, then hovered in the air, grinning. "See? If I want to, you can't even touch the soles of my feet."
"But I can hit you any time I want." Ace appeared beside Jack in a flash and landed a powerful air strike to the side of his head.
Bang!
Jack staggered, his massive mammoth form nearly toppling.
"Agh!" Jack raged. His immense size was no match for Ace's agility. Frustrated, he began transforming again—into his hybrid form.
Jack, already over eight meters tall, now towered over twenty meters. His half-mammoth, half-human form rivaled even the average giant.
"RAAAH!" Jack roared and leapt high into the air toward Ace.
Ace dodged once more, landing smoothly. He glanced up at Jack's towering form, eyes narrowing. "Perfect size to test a new move."
"The fight with Doflamingo helped my body adapt to 100,000-degree purple flames. Now's the time to see how far I can push it… with the second stage of Flame Transformation."
Ace's eyes glowed violet. A moment later, intense purple flames burst from his body, soaring skyward and superheating the entire underground space. The air shimmered, and nearby structures began to crystallize from the heat.
Suddenly, a massive purple arm extended from the center of the inferno, splitting the flames. Emerging was a towering, armored figure—Ace's ultimate technique: Flame General.
The Flame General's body was sheathed in intricate purple armor, with ribbon-like flames fluttering at the shoulders and joints. A katana hung at its side, its blade sheathed in condensed, volatile energy.
Though smaller than the first-stage Flame Giant, this form radiated far more focused power and control—an evolved combat form.
"What the hell…" Jack instinctively sensed danger. But arrogance overrode caution, and he rushed in, saber raised.
Clang!
Ace blocked the saber with the Flame General's arm. Purple flames erupted from within the armor, launching Jack backward with immense force.
"Even if my body's adapted to the purple flame, I can't hold this form for long," Ace muttered. He reached for the katana at his waist and drew it. "Jack, I'll give you one last piece of advice. Use your strongest defense."
"Hah! You think changing shape means you can hurt me? I'm Jack the Drought! Come at me with all you've got!"
Clang!
The blade shimmered with heat, its edges seeming to blur from the intensity. Purple flame energy danced along the steel.
"Then witness the true Sword of Fire!" Ace declared.
He raised the blade with both hands and brought it down.
Boom!
An explosion of violet flames erupted from the strike, completely engulfing Jack.
"ARRGH!!" Jack's scream was swiftly swallowed by the firestorm.
When the smoke and heat dissipated, everything in the strike's path—ground, structures, and Jack himself—was gone. All reduced to ash.
Unlike the version used against Doflamingo, this was the true Sword of Fire. With an enormous amount of 100,000-degree flame energy sealed within the blade, its release erased all in its path.
Huff!
The Flame General exhaled a burst of white steam before dissolving into purple flame, which remerged with Ace.
"Finally… the war in Dressrosa is over," Ace said, his voice weary.
The Donquixote Family was wiped out. Jack the Drought, one of Kaido's top three All-Stars, had fallen. The underground brokers had all fled.
On the World Government's side, the fleet sent to intervene had been repelled by the Revolutionary Army, led by Sabo. They likely wouldn't try again soon.
Among the Four Emperors:
Kaido's Beast Pirates were now mortal enemies.
Big Mom's crew? Still uncertain—but hostility was likely.
Red-Haired Shanks might not be allies, but they weren't enemies either.
Whitebeard's Pirates were Ace's last known allies.
With his identity now public, Ace knew the future hinged on Whitebeard's response. If Whitebeard chose to protect him, Ace could enjoy a few peaceful years under his flag. But if he remained indifferent… Ace would have no choice but to return to the Sky Islands and remain hidden.
Still, Ace believed in Whitebeard. The old man would not turn his back.
But first—Ace would rest. Dressrosa had been won.
