Alex's p.o.v
She opens her door ice cream in hand, she forgot she invited them but, in her defence, they are twenty minutes late and getting here is a five-minute walk. Jayden got himself a nice room that has Wi-Fi. So, she had her head buried in a crime show that has everything that captures her attention. Science, reason and romance... it does not help the second lead is a brooding handsome man.
"You seriously watching Bones right now?" Leo said walking right in, at least Toby waited for her to move to the side. "Sweet, you have ice cream and snacks."
There goes the peace she created, so was her ice cream and spoon. She rolls her eyes and she shuts the door.
"Why did you call us at this time and why did we have to rush?"
Leo asks shovelling ice-cream in his mouth; did she miss something? He still looks mad, maybe her selfishness got him trapped with a man he does not want to be with.
"Leo, move your bags here and stay with me." She looks at their clear faces, "they organised the room shifts to get us trapped with them."
She says handing Toby her snacks. "What? I'm confused?"
Toby says taking a bite out of the lightly salted crisps. "Maybe it is because you cannot remain faithful to your boyfriend."
Toby stopped moving and they both faced him. "Leo, stop talking."
She talks and he ignores her and goes back to munching of her ice-cream. What's wrong to Leo?
"Common Leo you my senior, if you have a problem with me spell it out because at this point, I do not know what you are talking about."
Yeah, Leo is being weird. It's like his jealous and angry at the same time, that does not justify how his treating their Junior.
"You little!" She spotted the intention and immediately moved to action, why did she invite them here? She regrets her decision as she held Leo back from hurting Toby even though she doubts he would, this man has never harmed a fly. "Let. Me. Have. Him. Alex. Let. Go!"
In hindsight she would rather spend the remainder of her time with her fated than the amount of drama she finds herself in.
"Guys!"
"What!"
They both yelled and faced her simultaneously; they took a step back when her energy shifted.
"This is not what I called you both here for! Sit the hell down." She grows and they both obeyed her command and she redirects her attention to the man who has been behaving like a diva ever sincethey arrived here. "Leo what the hell are you talking about? What did Toby do?"
Leo sat back, crossed his arms and pouted… Toby followed suite. She looks at them incredulously; Leo is usually good at communicating but his been acting like a toddler refusing to use is words.
"Nothing. Why did you call me here?"
She did bring up the agenda of why they are gathered here but she's not surprised they did not hear her over their intense emotions.
"Lucas brought us here to make his life easier. He moved to Toby's shared room the first chance he got leaving the two of us and another addition in our room. I feel bad for asking Jayden to use his room, but I wanted to get away from Noah which is no excuse… you can move here if you want."
No on interrupted her as she explained, no one seems surprised or bothered. "That is why Lucas, and I had our first fight?"
"It is because of Jayden, genius. Who is next Noah? Alex?"
"Leo if you are going to accuse me of something, at least have the decency of being up front with me instead of taking cheap shots."
"How dare you lie to Lucas?! I know the secret you and Jayden have been hiding. You are shameless. It is hard to think I expected better from you. Shit. Even when Lucas said you the one for him-"
"Wait Lucas knows? That's why he has been acting so weirdly lately."
"See. He does not even deny the fact his chea-"
"Jayden is my cousin." Leo stopped taking stunned by the omega's words. "He acts more like a protective older brother. I wanted to tell Lucas, Jay wanted to see how serious Lucas is about me."
She gets up to make herself coffee, this was an interesting turn of events. The odds of them being related in her opinion were high based solely on their facial structure and scent but their relationship threw them off.
"I know Lucas should have found out from me since it was not always a secret, Jay just wanted to see my mate's sincerity." She did not see this coming. Leo moves from her side to comfort the junior he upset. "Shit, I bet that is why he has been avoiding me after Jay came to my room. Damn Jayden for trying to protect me at every turn and now my fated has the wrong idea about us."
Toby starts sobbing, she does something she's never done before. She uses her pheromones to calm the rising emotions once more and in stead of being angry, she's emphatic. Toby stopped uncontrollably sobbing, and now he just looks miserable. Lucas is a great guy, Jayden has a unique way of thinking, and the atmosphere is either filled with confusion or sadness.
"I will be right back I need the bathroom; I am sure I look terrible."
He did not. It looks bad for them because it is like they made their junior cry. Now his eyes are puffy, red cheeks and blood shot eyes. Maybe if he throws cold water on his face he and the swelling will calm down. Toby is, gosh his wide, puffy eyes and now red cheeks. She wanted to follow but she figured he wants to spend time alone to compose himself. She turned her head to frown at Leo, and she got pulled into a kiss. Saying that she's confused is an understatement, his lips are one hers. She gasps and he uses that opportunity to deepen the kiss; he tastes like vanilla ice-cream. Leo broke the kiss and he smiles at her; how does she react?
"I don't love you."
"No shit. Your gay bro, haven't we figured that shit out already? Aw common those lips touched Jayden's, or did you also not know you had relations with that one too? 'I don't love you', I could have told you that, you Jurassic ass."
She fumed flabbergasted at her friend's audacity to touch her lips with his, he smells like Jayden. What in the living hell just happened?
"Aii. Toby, relax. Lucas does not know you and Jay are cousins, so you can still tell him and Alex I'm sorry I didn't mean to-"
Memories she buried threatened to peak through. She does not mind physical contact from the people she knows and or those who get permission, but Leo violated her boundaries. He invaded her privacy without checking in on her first, it's Leo. His not Parker. His not Parker. His not Parker.
"It is fine."
Calm down, don't let anyone see your weakness. She turns her attention on her ice cream trying her best not to dissociate. Her phone vibrates and she looks down, its Noah. Memories of his carefree smile, peaked interest and him praising her art.
"Why did you kiss her?"
"Because I thought I loved her. I have never been interested in guys but as Alex accused, I allowed myself to be in a situationship with him. I thought me being in love with Alex means I don't have to succumb to my feelings for Jay."
"My cousin is a good man, his responsible and his handsome... why did you reject him?"
She feels lightheaded. She tries to keep up with the conversation, but the same feelings of unease, creep and nausea hacked her attempts to breathe. She gets up and grabs her phone; she does not wear a jacket or shoes... she just needs out.
"Alex."
"Um, stay. I will be right back."
She does not face him, and he does not stop her. She stumbles in the cold; and tears plastering themselves on her face. She feels uncomfortable, uncertain and scared. She throws her phone on the sand, before running to the cold water. She's dirty, and no matter how much she scrubbed then the salty water is doing nothing now.
