Christopher Allen Lloyd, or Emmett Brown. Kinda both. Sat in a advanced lab within the foundation, looking over several flux capaciter designs, detailing the preformance of energy reconence cycles. He smiles, reading the data "Seems its working better then ever! The sub-crystaline structure i reverse egineered to generate tacyons in my physics bubble is working well. Good too see its reached over 33% effecency. Soon... it will have enougth juice to power a temporal wormhole! Too bad it uses so much po-" The thing sprits outs, and explodes with sparks, as the power cables overload, and it shuts down. "Golly lords! Stupid cabling! Can only handle this much power! Gezz. Need a better power cycle." The reality was simple, his physics bubble followed him, and his inventions. Making his laws of physics real within them. Time travel. Introducing new particles to detect, and new atomic behavyour. It was truely something uncanny about the fact pym particles appeared when iron man entered a room. It was super precise, and very detectable. A perfect sphere of 22m. These spheres overlay, and suddenly interact stably. As if pym particles, and tacions were real in both bubbles with no issue. Time was time, magic was magic, and all things interacted via a logic they were bairly touching the surface of in physics overlap study. A fully scientific behavior, unaffected by belief. Belief had no space in science unless it was a soul-based interaction force like magic, or a force that turned emotions into field behaviors.
The issue with science was alwase there. He scowled. "Magic idiots alwase get acsess to the cool stuff so easy with there mental interaction based forces, and materiel psychonic interactions that make salt suddenly do magic. But no... for the science pepole we got to develop new meta materals, and use coliders! You know how expensive a colider is! Plus i had no idea how to build a time machine. I got none of my fancy tools, but they get mana, and instictive spells! Come on, my movie was full of pseudoscience terms throw to a teenager, and now i haft to translate!?" He mutters, while deconstructing his testing rig with gloves for the heat. He frowns, and sighs, as he looks at the ruins of the device. "Stupid power cords... i see the issue. Mistaken 11 gigawatt for 22 gigawatt power cords. Stupid me. I wish that capaldi was here. He would help out. Too bad he is working hard on managing this orgnization, and only gets a hour or two in a lab each day." He frowns... thinking about the fact that his work is kinda... augzilery. They have a few time travellers in the foundation already. Five from umbrella academy, and Hiro Nakamura from Heroes. With superhuman cheats. But it seems "Time travel rules are sadly set in stone here." He nods, thinking of his work with the doctor, using those two time travelers to map them.
He sighs, as he looks at the clock. "Break time." He gets up, grabs a coffie, and gets his laptop, as he reads some recent scientific paper. Eventually, re-reads the rules of time travel they list. "1. The future does not exist at all, and no time traveler can move into it. But predictions can see likelyhoods. Or magic can lock with energy possibilities in place.
2. The past exsists, but frozen with no 'now' moving thru it. Move back in time, you can change your new now. But move to the preset, and its uneffected, as your past now can never reach the present now to overwrite it." That was all the rules it needed. But it had 27 pages of tests with various powers testing things to confirm it. The doctor had no tardis, and wanted to know the rules before he even attempted to understand temporal physics in this universe. Given he is in the same boat as borwn. "But a imortal, smarter then me, british alien." He frowns at that. Luckly the medical tech here is wonderful, and helped deage him. As he begins desiging, and rewriting the power algorithm. Considering he needs the flux capacitor to generate huge amounts of tacions with huge ammounts of power to force a quantum phase shift to generate a stable temporal wormhole. Plus a object moving fast enough to pass thru before it collapses. That is the reason for 88mph, because the wormhole lasts for such a short time, that the vehicales length needs to move rather fast thru it to not be cut in half. Energy costs come from the size of the wormhole needed primarly, not the temproal distance traveled unless at extreme time displacements.
He frowns, as he considers the fact that due to the rules here, he can't change the timeline, but can duplicate objects, and individuals infinitely techneckly speaking with time travel. Its a little weird, but useful. Thou some recent theories sugget that extremely short range time travel in the range of minutes to seconds, can effect the now. Honestly thou, as he works he smiles "Thou honestly, who cares. Changing the past is alwase messy buisness. The best use of it, is taking dinosuars to study, and traveling back in time to see how the earth forms! Lovely for documentaries!!" Thou he pauses, looking up cynimaticly as was a new habit, and thinking... "What if i went too see C?... like... would see exsist if we went to that momment?" He was confused for once. Unsure. Surely not?
He gets up, and does some casual math on a paper. What he is use too, sure they got calculators, holograms, tablets, he has one on hand, but he likes this. So as he writes the calculations. He frowns... "Its likely given the temporal structure... if we go back to that momment, and the new alternate now flows over that momment, C will never show up, and we will have a past now moving forword with no C ever appearing, and no crazy event, no emergence. A reality without a emergence, anyone can visit by going exsactly 468, 11 hours, 22 minutes, and 3 seconds from our now. Then foreword the same amount, and we are back here. But you would need plank scale precision to not cause multi-now splitting." The dyagram they used to explane to others was simple. A river, with only the front being water. Behind it being solid ice. Travel back in time, you thaw out the unvierse there, it goes forword, overwriting the future at 1 second per second, but the issue is... the front wave is uneffected. Its also moving 1 second per second, and will never catch up with the now you just made. However "The issue is alwase rentering the momment. You ether need plank scale precision to perfectly hit the momment of now. Or deal with the fact you made a divergent now, of a divergent now. Two unthawed moments you made, nearly seconds apart. But..."
There is a big issue with this temporal multiverse. "Other created nows can invent time travel, go as far into the future as they can, and with ease hit our now. But we will be unable to head into the past, and find there now. Every alternate timeline we create is another place someone can invent time travel, and find us at the end of causality. The true now." He quitely says "A war across time, with fronts from every alternate timeline we ever made, able to reach here, now, the end of the tape. We need to make sure to never split timelines where the emergence occured. Or else they get superhumans with time travel who can easly reach us. Glad the doctor put those rules on those time travellers."
