Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: A Few Things About a Failed Operation

Because of the battle with the mysterious girl on the bridge, Li Xuan's plan to escape Nagazora City was a complete failure. After all, the bridge was broken.

With no other choice, the group had to return to their original base and continue their life of mutual suffering with the Honkai Zombies and Honkai Beasts of Nagazora City. They would have to slowly clear out the surrounding Honkai Zombies while searching for another escape route.

It was a leisurely afternoon. At least, Li Xuan thought so. He was currently sitting in a lounge chair on the fifteenth floor of a tall building. This was a lesson learned from past experience—to avoid being spotted by giant Honkai Beasts.

Since yesterday's escape attempt failed, everyone had returned to the base. Fortunately, their previous supplies were still there, so they didn't have to worry about food for a while. Everyone decided to just relax for a day and stay home.

"Oh! No! No! No! Chotto ma ga sashitanda," Li Xuan hummed "Love Trial" by the super-popular virtual idol from his world, Hatsune Miku. He picked up the cup of green tea from the small table next to his chair, took a small sip, and stared blankly out the window at the blue sky.

Kiana rushed past him and went into her room.

Slam! She shut the door.

? What's she doing shutting her door in the middle of the day? Changing clothes? Li Xuan glanced at Kiana's room, puzzled. But it wasn't his business, and he couldn't be bothered to ask, so he went back to his blank staring.

"Li Xuan-kun, have you seen Kiana?" Raiden Mei, looking a bit upset, walked over to Li Xuan with Bronya Zaychik in tow.

"Oh, yeah, she's in her room," Li Xuan replied, giving them a strange look and pointing to Kiana's door.

"Thanks," Mei said politely before turning and heading towards Kiana's room with Bronya Zaychik. For some reason, Li Xuan thought he saw an arc of electricity flash through her hair.

Well, what's it got to do with me? Li Xuan thought, calmly sipping his tea. But this tea tastes a bit weird. Is it expired? A little salty...

Just then, Mei threw open Kiana's door. She immediately saw Kiana with her back to her, seeming to be sniffing something. "Kiana, did you take Bronya Zaychik's panties!?" Mei asked directly. Kiana's body trembled.

So that's what it is. Tsk, tsk, yuri is a terrifying force... Li Xuan thought, hearing Mei's words. His hand paused for a moment before he calmly continued to drink his tea.

"N-no, I didn't," Kiana stammered, turning around with a suspicious blush, her hands behind her back.

"Mei-nee-sama, what Kiana is holding looks like Bronya Zaychik's panties," Bronya Zaychik stated with a blank expression. Hearing this, Kiana tried to hide her hands further behind her back.

But it was no use. Mei deftly darted over and snatched the white piece of fabric from behind Kiana's back. She was caught red-handed. "Kiana, how could you do this?! Bronya Zaychik is still a child!... If you wanted them so badly, you could have asked me..." Mei said, her voice filled with rage. Bronya Zaychik's quiet mumble of "Bronya Zaychik is not a child anymore" was completely ignored.

"I... I..." Kiana hung her head under Mei's glare, unable to speak.

"Hmph! And what about the panties I took off yesterday? Hand them over," Raiden Mei demanded. "I... I hid them," Kiana said hesitantly.

"Where?" Mei asked, her face dark. "In the kettle in the kitchen," Kiana replied reluctantly.

Li Xuan's hand trembled. He stared at the cup of tea in his hand with a complicated expression. Mei also seemed to realize something, and her face turned bright red as she stared at Li Xuan's teacup.

"Pfft!" Li Xuan spat out the tea in his mouth. He couldn't stay calm any longer. Yes, Li Xuan had used the water from the kitchen kettle to make his tea, which meant...

KIANAAAAAA!!!

Meanwhile... high above Nagazora City, a battleship named the Hyperion floated in the sky.

A small, silver-haired nun stood before a door.

Damn it, Himeko is an instructor, but school is about to start and she's not prepared at all. She just stays cooped up at home all day. What is she even doing... the silver-haired nun thought as she pushed open the door. The room inside was pitch black. The walls were covered with posters of handsome, popular male celebrities. The floor was littered with empty beer bottles and women's underwear thrown everywhere.

The silver-haired nun was already used to this scene, which was messier than a dog's kennel. She walked straight to the bed and poked the lump under the covers. "Wake up, you idiot Himeko!" she said with a sigh.

Two arms shot out from the bundled quilt and wrapped around the silver-haired nun. The woman named Himeko poked her head out from the covers, reeking of alcohol, and nuzzled the nun's cheek. "Hehe, don't go, baby. Let me give you a kiss." The woman puckered her lips and leaned in.

"No, noooooo!!!" The scream of a certain silver-haired loli principal echoed through the sky.

All in all, the wind was a bit restless today... in more ways than one.
