Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Twin Pupil Talent

Zi San saw Lu Yin stand up and thought he was going to attack him. In the apocalypse, human lives were as cheap as grass, and he had no doubt he would be killed for anger. He quickly said, "My lord, I can help you, I can do many things for you, please don't kill me."

Lu Yin lifted his foot and walked towards the restaurant entrance, ignoring him.

When Lu Yin passed by Zi San, this evolved human's fear reached its peak. He truly thought he was going to be killed. He had seen too many scenes of high and mighty powerhouses slaughtering, so he gritted his teeth and shouted, "My lord, I have a special ability, I can help you!"

Lu Yin suddenly stopped, looked back in surprise. "What did you say? Special ability?"

Zi San's face was pale. He whispered, "My, my eyes can see very far, twice as far as ordinary people. Because of that, I can steal a lot of good things."

Lu Yin was surprised. He squatted down, staring into Zi San's eyes, and saw that the man's pupils were subtly dispersed. "Twin pupils?" Lu Yin was truly astonished. This was a talent, a talent that only one in countless cultivators in the universe could be born with.

"No one else knows about your special ability?" Lu Yin asked with a frown.

Zi San shook his head, whispering, "I don't want people to think I'm a monster. I haven't told anyone. You're the first."

Lu Yin's lips curved upwards. "Name?"

"Zi San."

"Good, Zi San. From today onwards, you will follow me. I will bring you into Figure's Vanguard," Lu Yin said indifferently.

Zi San looked up in fear. "You, do you want to dissect me?"

Lu Yin chuckled. "I won't, but others might. So your special ability must never be exposed, understand?"

Zi San nodded blankly.

Without setting foot in the starry sky, one would never understand the importance of talent. The Universe Youth Arbitration Council was willing to directly allow talented cultivators to join, something countless people yearned for but could not achieve, showing its difficulty. For Lu Yin, Zi San was a treasure, surely very useful in the future, even selling him could fetch a lot of money.

Zi San was familiar with the area. Under his guidance, in a few days, Lu Yin scoured Jinling, including the destroyed arsenal, but found no trace of what he was looking for.

"Boss, this is the highest point in Jinling, second only to Zhongshan," Zi San said to Lu Yin.

Lu Yin grunted. "Look, where is the military concentration, besides Zhongshan?"

Zi San nodded, looking out. His twin pupils dispersed, becoming brighter.

After a long while, Zi San smiled wryly. "Boss, my eyes can see farther than ordinary people, but not far enough to see all of Jinling."

Lu Yin said indifferently, "Practice more, you'll always improve."

Zi San was speechless, opening his eyes wide to see.

"Boss, look, isn't someone flying in the sky over there?" Zi San suddenly shouted, pointing to the eastern sky.

Lu Yin looked up, his eyes surprised. Indeed, someone was flying, and they weren't from Earth. Like Yasta, they came from the starry sky.

The newcomer flew very fast, directly landing over Jinling. He took a deep breath, roared loudly, and a furious power pressed down. Immediately, a storm-like energy swept across Jinling.

At the same time, the Jinling Base's alarm sounded. Countless people looked up, trembling as they saw the figure standing in the sky.

In Zhongshan, Feng Hong and other Vanguard Commanders quickly rushed out, their faces pale as they looked at the sky. "Sky-level powerhouse?"

Countless people stared blankly into the sky. Being able to fly was a symbol of a Sky-level powerhouse. When did China gain another Sky-level powerhouse?

In the sky, Aodhan surveyed the Jinling Base, his eyes arrogant. Like Yasta, or rather, all people from the universe regarded Earthlings as savages.

"Respected Sky-level powerhouse, why are you attacking Jinling Base? This is Figure Saint's protected area," a voice from Zhongshan transmitted. Although it was a question, the tone was somewhat respectful.

Aodhan sneered, "Figure Saint? Is that a self-proclaimed title by you natives? How dare you! The word 'Saint' is something you can control? Let your so-called Figure Saint roll out here!"

The millions of people in Jinling Base were terrified. The unfamiliar Sky-level powerhouse brought intense hostility; this was an enemy.

Feng Hong and the others' faces were grim. Others might not know, but they did. The newcomer was definitely an alien, just like the one killed a few days ago, both possessing Sky-level strength. Jinling was in trouble.

With a loud roar, Zhou Shan, carrying a three-meter giant axe, flew into the sky, facing Aodhan, his expression solemn. "I am Figure Saint Zhou Shan."

Countless people cheered. Figure Saint Zhou Shan was the guardian deity of Jinling.

Aodhan was cold and arrogant. "My origin, I presume you've guessed. I'll give you a chance to serve me. In the future, perhaps I can take you out of Earth and into the starry sky."

Zhou Shan's eyes narrowed. "I'm not clear about your origin."

Aodhan scoffed, "A mere native dares to scheme with me? Yasta landed in this section. Don't tell me you haven't seen him. Let me tell you, my academy ranking is much higher than his. Following me has more prospects than following him."

Zhou Shan gripped his giant axe. "We are Earthlings, not natives."

Aodhan's lips curled. "It seems you're still not convinced. I'll let you know the difference between natives and us superior beings." With that, a sword suddenly appeared, directly stabbing towards Zhou Shan.

Everyone was surprised that Aodhan attacked without warning. Zhou Shan also didn't expect it, but Zhou Shan reacted very quickly, with extremely rich combat experience. The axe handle was raised to parry the longsword, and then he spun 360 degrees, chopping from bottom to top. Aodhan was startled by his quick reaction. He couldn't help but respect Zhou Shan a little. The longsword vibrated, blocking the axe, but his body was sent flying a hundred meters, his hands trembling.

The qi wave from the clash of sword and axe formed an arc, cutting towards the base. Immediately, the ground was cut with cracks a hundred meters long. Many people were affected and ran in fear.

"What immense strength," Aodhan said in surprise.

Zhou Shan fiercely chopped his giant axe towards Aodhan. Aodhan sneered, energy surging around his body. The longsword horizontally blocked the attack. This strike firmly blocked Zhou Shan's giant axe.

Zhou Shan's eyes narrowed, then he attacked again.

"You want to push me out of this base? No problem, I'll make you concede," Aodhan said. His longsword and axe clashed again. His body was pushed back by the enormous force, flying directly out of the airspace of Jinling Base.

The brief exchange of blows, though short, shocked countless people. Humans could actually fight in the air, each move capable of splitting the earth. This was the power of gods!

Feng Hong and the others looked worried. The alien dared to descend to Earth, so they must have been prepared. They were worried about Zhou Shan.

On another mountain, Zi San trembled in shock. It was his first time witnessing a battle between Sky-level powerhouses, truly an eye-opener.

Lu Yin looked outside the city, hearing the faint rumbles, and frowned.

Every descending student had a ring-armor that could defend against Sky-level powerhouse attacks. This put Aodhan in an invincible position; he considered himself to be assured of victory. However, Zhou Shan was one of the Seven Saints of China. These seven people must have inherited something from the corpse of the Neptune creature. Even if the inheritance was minimal, it was not something Aodhan could underestimate. Being able to stand on Neptune proved that the corpse possessed the power to stroll through the starry sky. Such people had unfathomable depths.

Lu Yin could look down on all evolved humans on Earth, but he absolutely dared not look down on the Seven Saints of China. These seven had been cultivating even before the apocalypse.

When he saw Yasta's corpse and the spaceship a few days ago, Zhou Shan didn't seem too surprised. Lu Yin observed this scene very carefully. Aodhan might not necessarily win.

Not long after, earth-shattering explosions came from outside Jinling City. Countless qi surges shot into the sky, tearing through cloud layers, then silence returned.

Soon, Zhou Shan flew into the sky. Although he looked a bit pale, he was not significantly injured. He held his giant axe high, followed by the cheers of millions of survivors in Jinling.

"You stay here," Lu Yin commanded, then rushed outside the city.

Zhou Shan and Aodhan's battle location was not far, just about 20 kilometers outside the city.

When Lu Yin arrived, he saw a devastated landscape and burning high-rises. On the ground, distinct slash marks were clearly visible, extending into the distance.

The zombies and mutated beasts that were originally around had long since fled or turned to dust.

Lu Yin squatted down, touching the slash marks. There were still faint, sharp qi fluctuations on them. This was the power of Zhou Shan's combat technique. The attack he used to kill the mutated vine that day was not his full power; this was his full power.

Not far away, white fragments reflected light.

Lu Yin picked them up, his eyes narrowing. These were fragments of ring-armor. Aodhan was defeated miserably, even his ring-armor was shattered. He didn't know if Aodhan was dead or not, but he probably wasn't, otherwise Zhou Shan would definitely have brought his body back to Jinling.

Lu Yin re-evaluated the strength of the Seven Saints of China. He didn't know the strength of the top three Saints, but Zhou Shan probably possessed the combat strength of a Probing Realm peak. The ability to shatter ring-armor was proof.

A commotion came from a distance. It must be the other Vanguard Commanders arriving. Lu Yin didn't want to confront them, so he left directly.
