Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: Trial Tiers

Yego smiled, "Of course not. I just told them to look nearby for any fellow students. What happened, did they ambush you? Don't worry, I'll teach them a good lesson."

"No need, they've already paid a heavy price," Granny said coldly.

Lu Yin walked to Granny's side, looking at Yego.

Yego showed no surprise upon seeing Lu Yin, "You are Jinling's Saint Yin? You must also be from the Starry Sky, otherwise Granny wouldn't be cooperating with you."

Lu Yin calmly stated, "My name is Yatta, a student of Tata Planet Academy, and my grandfather is the principal."

Granny's face twitched. She detested those words; it was because of them that she had let down her guard against this bastard.

Yego paused, "What are you trying to say?"

Lu Yin displayed a hint of arrogance, "I have money. Release my people, and I can give you many resources."

Yego laughed heartily, "Tata Planet? Never heard of it. I don't care who you are, I only came to you to cooperate."

"Cooperate?" Lu Yin was surprised.

Yego said gravely, "I've discovered a Gale Crystal mine nearby, but it's unfortunately occupied by a group of mutated beasts. Those mutated beasts have all reached the Observation Realm, making them difficult to deal with. I need help."

"How much?" Granny asked.

Yego shook his head, "Not sure, but conservatively estimated, there should be several tens of cubic meters."

Granny's eyes burned with eagerness. Several tens of cubic meters of Gale Crystals was a considerable amount. Normally, on planets, this type of crystal would only be a few cubic meters at most. Granny wanted to agree, but the words caught in her throat, and she looked at Lu Yin instead.

Lu Yin calmly said, "I have money, I don't care."

Yego was stunned. He hadn't expected a student to refuse. This was dozens of cubic meters of Gale Crystals! Converted to Star Energy Crystals, it would be at least a hundred cubic meters, enough to cultivate a combat technique to a considerable level of maturity, and also accelerate cultivation to the Fusion Realm. It was definitely a significant amount of resources.

Granny secretly glared at Lu Yin; she wanted to go.

"However, even though I have money, no one dislikes more money. Go, we'll find you in two days, but you're not to touch any of my Xing Ying people," Lu Yin said, changing the subject.

Yego nodded, "Alright, I'll bring those two junior brothers of mine too; more people make things easier."

Lu Yin agreed, and Granny immediately cut off the call.

"Is this Yego the strong one on the same level as Tres, as those two said?" Lu Yin asked.

Granny hummed, "I've heard his name. He's one of the top 3 strongest in Blue Mountain Academy, possibly even stronger than Tres."

"What's his family background?" Lu Yin asked.

Granny was slightly taken aback, "Family background? I don't know."

Lu Yin's eyes flickered. He wasn't going for the Gale Crystals. Even if there were more of them, they couldn't be exchanged for Star Energy Crystals on Earth, and would likely end up in the Great Martial Empire's hands anyway. What he lacked now were Star Energy Crystals, and this Yego should have some. From Jinling to Duy Huong wasn't far. Lu Yin had Granny bring the two Blue Mountain Academy students back, but it took them half a day of flying to arrive.

Tens of thousands of evolved humans from Duy Huong were confined to their camp, their weapons confiscated, surrounded by another group of evolved humans monitoring them.

Lu Yin saw Feng Hong, the pitiful Centurion, hanging from a tree.

A powerful energy fluctuation emanated from the entire camp. When Lu Yin and Granny arrived, this energy swept out, causing the sky to tremble.

Lu Yin knew this was Yego showing off his power, and also trying to test his strength.

In truth, this kind of display was not only useless but also revealed one's own strength. Yego's energy fluctuation was very powerful, even slightly exceeding Tres, but Lu Yin didn't care. He knew that barking dogs don't bite; only the silver-haired man's deadly methods were truly frightening.

Granny stepped forward, her body vibrating with energy, blocking Yego's energy fluctuation, causing the air to twist. An invisible crack appeared on the ground, neatly dividing the camp from Lu Yin and his group.

Feng Hong and several other Centurions looked up, seeing Lu Yin, their expressions embarrassed.

Lu Yin paid them no mind, instead looking at the man slowly ascending into the air, who was indeed Yego.

Clap, clap, clap.

"As expected of the Military Academy's flower, student Granny's strength is admirable," Yego praised, his eyes openly greedy.

Granny snorted, "Is this the Blue Mountain Academy's way of hospitality?"

Yego smiled, "It was my rudeness, I apologize," he said, then looked at Lu Yin, a hint of disdain flashing in his eyes. Lu Yin had only recently broken through to the Observation Realm, and his energy wasn't strong enough to attract Yego's attention.

"Two of you, can you release my two junior brothers now?" Yego asked Granny, assuming Granny was the leader of the two.

The two captured Blue Mountain Academy students saw Yego about to speak, but their mouths were sealed. They could only blink continuously, wanting to warn him of Lu Yin's strength, but Yego didn't understand.

"Whether they're released or not depends on your sincerity," Granny said indifferently.

Yego shrugged, "Alright, please, that's my camp."

Soon, several people appeared in the camp.

Yego took out a map and unfolded it, pointing to a large mountain hundred kilometers from Duy Huong, "The Gale Crystals are there, but they're surrounded by a flock of mutated birds. At least five of these birds have Observation Realm strength, which is what the natives call Heaven-grade, and there's a large number of Glimpse Realm strength birds too."

"What do you plan to do?" Granny glanced at Lu Yin, then asked Yego.

Yego said, "The five of us can deal with this flock of birds, but it's too tiring. I've thought of a method: let these natives lure the bird flock out, then use this planet's hot weapons to blast them away, clean and efficient."

Upon hearing this, Lu Yin's eyes turned cold. Granny was startled, and quickly said, "If we do that, those natives will surely die, won't they?"

Yego chuckled, "The natives' lives and deaths don't matter. The important thing is that it will be very easy for us." "Even if we don't make these natives sacrifice themselves, we can still succeed," Lu Yin said calmly.

Yego looked at Lu Yin amusedly, "Brother Yatta, the lives and deaths of these natives are simply not worth caring about. Once the trial ends, the evolved humans among these natives will be sent to the battlefield. Some with cultivation talent might even become slaves to some powerful noble, and the beautiful ones might become maids. The rest are just cannon fodder, no need to care. In fact, dying here might make them happier; they might even thank us, haha."

Lu Yin remained silent. Earth's fate had indeed been decided long ago. The moment the trial began, all Earthlings were under the observation of the Great Martial Empire and the Universal Youth Council. Only a very few with talent could receive slightly fairer treatment; others were just cannon fodder. Yego was not wrong.

"Alright, I've shown my sincerity. Can you release the people now?" Yego looked at Granny and said.

Granny looked at Lu Yin. Lu Yin calmly said, "Wait a moment, I have one more question."

A hint of coldness flashed in Yego's eyes, "What question?"

Lu Yin looked at Yego, "You are considered a top expert of Blue Mountain Academy, why aren't you going to complete the mission, but instead staying here?"

Yego's eyes showed surprise. He looked at Lu Yin, then at Granny again, and chuckled, "I forgot. It's normal for people of your level not to have access to certain information. Alright, I can give you a brief overview," he said, then sat down and had someone bring over some tea.

Lu Yin and Granny also sat down, accepted the tea, and looked at Yego.

Yego took a sip of tea and said gravely, "Students are divided into three tiers. The first tier consists of my two junior brothers; their trial purpose is simply to show off to others, equivalent to gilding. As long as they can successfully survive the trial, their future will be bright. The second tier is us."

"Us?" Granny was surprised. She thought Yego, as a top expert of Blue Mountain Academy, was not on the same tier as her.

Yego nodded, and said sincerely, "You, me, and even Tres from your Military Academy are all in this tier. Our goal is to achieve some results, for example, occupying territories, marking them blue, or discovering valuable mineral resources... Granny, since you landed, has anyone ever talked to you about completing a mission together?"

Granny shook her head, her expression serious.

Yego smiled, "That's it then, because we aren't qualified enough. There's only one type of person who is qualified, and that's Willow from your Academy, and Paris from ours."

"The strongest people in the Academies?" Granny was surprised.

Yego nodded, and said honestly, "There's no fairness in this universe. Trial information needs to be informed to us, but they already knew about it long ago. Moreover, the strongest person from each Academy has a way to contact each other. This is their inner circle, which we can't reach. Before the trial began, they had already allied with each other, for the purpose of completing missions. Willow, isn't he in this area, is he?"

Granny's eyes were bitter, "I haven't seen him since before the trial began."
