Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

"Gold is indeed 300 yuan per gram, but if the price is only 300, then I don't need to come to your jewelry company to sell. Any normal place that buys gold can give that price.

You've seen these gold accessories. Their designs are very fresh and special. If your company buys them and uses the styles to make more, your sales will definitely increase. It's not fair to buy them just based on the gold weight," Tracy said.

Business is business. Even though the designs were clearly valuable, Manager Yan still wanted to get them at the lowest price.

"Ms. Tracy, you can't say it like that. These gold accessories, you don't have receipts or certificates, right?

You can go to other places to sell, and yes, they might still give you 300 per gram. But since the source is unclear, very few buyers will actually want them. Even if someone buys, they will lower the price a lot.

Our company has strong money support. We are official and legal. Working with us is more reliable," said Manager Yan.

What he said made sense. If not, Tracy wouldn't have thought of coming to Borla Jewelry. That company sold a lot of products. A batch of unknown-source jewelry could be sold quietly among other goods.

But if she had to sell them only by gold weight, Tracy didn't feel happy about it.

If that was the case, she might as well melt the jewelry into gold bars. That would make it easier to sell.

These pieces had very beautiful and creative styles. As a woman, Tracy understood what women liked. Even she liked these accessories. Other people would too.

She came to the jewelry company because she trusted these designs. They came from another world. These designs didn't exist here. They used excellent design ideas. That's why she believed the company would pay more.

Gold itself is 300 per gram, but in stores, jewelry sells for more. The price includes the value of the design and service.

"These accessories don't have legal documents, but I can promise their source is clean. There won't be any trouble.

I came here with full honesty. 300 per gram is hard for me to accept. The two samples I brought today are just the normal ones from the whole batch. There are better ones.

If you can't accept a price higher than 300 per gram, then how about we try another way of working together?" Tracy asked.

"What kind of cooperation do you want?" asked Manager Yan.

"In this city, Borla Jewelry is number one. But in the whole country, your company isn't famous. Don't you want to grow bigger?

I have many fresh and special jewelry designs. I can sell them to you.

I can promise no other company has them. You can use them and make your own jewelry. You understand how much a good design can help sales," said Tracy.

After hearing that, Manager Yan started to regret. When he saw the two pieces earlier, he already felt they were different. He had worked in the jewelry business for many years. He knew a lot about designs. He had never seen these styles before.

Even just buying them for his company's designers to study would be useful.

A good design can really bring new energy to a company.

If he had known earlier, he would have agreed to a better price.

Now the deal was different. Selling designs might cost more, but he couldn't say no.

If Tracy was telling the truth and really had many good designs, buying them would help the company grow. It would also be a big win for him.

His position at work would also improve because of this deal.

Of course, that's if she was honest. But this kind of lie would be easy to see through. She didn't seem like someone who would make up stories for fun.

Tracy watched his face and could see that he was interested. If he wasn't, he would have already told her to leave, not sit here talking.

At first, she only wanted to sell the gold jewelry. But after he tried to lower the price, she got a new idea.

She could sell the designs. These designs came from another world. They looked very different from what people here were used to.

From her own eyes, the designs were really beautiful.

Selling designs had many good sides.

She could earn more money.

It also avoided problems.

If she sold too many gold items at once, someone might notice. That would be trouble. Tracy couldn't explain where they came from.

But if she only sold the design, she only needed to bring one piece per style. Sell that to one company.

If this company didn't want the deal, she could try another one. Someone would see the value.

The extra pieces that looked the same could be melted into gold bars.

She only needed some money to grow her plans. If she already had enough, she wouldn't even need to sell.

After she finished speaking, Manager Yan stayed quiet. He had to admit the two pieces were really good.

But he couldn't be sure if she really had more.

He also didn't believe that she was the only one with these styles.

"Miss Tracy, actually I have a question," Manager Yan said. "Since you said these jewelry designs are unique, why have they already been made?"

"You don't need to worry about that, Manager Yan," Tracy replied. "These pieces were designed by my friend. He originally planned to open a jewelry shop, but something unexpected happened, and he had to close the shop. He gave me these pieces to handle. I was planning to sell them, but now I think selling them directly is a waste.

You can see how excellent the designs are. If they're just sold off without recognition, it would be a shame to such beautiful work. So I want to work with your company. I'll sell the designs so more people can see how amazing they are. That way, my friend's hard work won't go to waste."

Manager Yan didn't believe her story. He thought, how could a friend give such valuable items to someone like Tracy to handle? And clearly, she was not a professional. It seemed like she just came up with the idea of selling designs on the spot.

But he didn't expose her lies. That wasn't important. As long as the designs were truly unique and could bring profit to their company, that was enough.

"If that's the case, then working together might be possible. But how much do you want for each design?" he asked.

"For each piece, I'll charge 300 yuan per gram, plus an extra 5000 yuan for the design fee. I can guarantee that every piece has a fresh and unique design. With these new pieces, your company can definitely grow stronger," Tracy answered.

"Isn't 5000 a bit too expensive?" Manager Yan said. "Even our own designers don't charge that much for a single piece."

"Your designers have steady high salaries, and they don't create new pieces every day. I'm different. I'm giving you finished designs, and you don't need to pay me a salary. You're only paying a small fee. This is already a great deal.

Besides, your designers' work can't compare with the quality of what I'm offering. Of course the price will be different," Tracy said.

"You can't say it like that," Manager Yan replied. "Even if these two designs are very good, you can't guarantee that all your designs will be that excellent. If they're just average, then 5000 yuan would be too much."

Actually, 5000 yuan wasn't too expensive for good jewelry design. Tracy's pieces were really impressive. If they used these designs, the company could expand and become more successful.

Right now, their company was well-known in the city, but not across the country. They had even launched an online sales division, but the results weren't great.

If they had high-quality new pieces, they could grow their market quickly. So in truth, 5000 yuan was cheap. But since Tracy offered a fixed price right away, it seemed like there was room to negotiate.

"You don't need to worry about that, Manager Yan," Tracy said. "You can check every design I sell to you. If you're not satisfied, you don't have to buy it."

She had gotten those jewelry pieces from another world. Selling a few each month to jewelry companies was a good source of income.

And now she was only selling the designs, not the actual jewelry, so it wouldn't attract too much attention.

As for whether she would eventually run out of items to sell, she wasn't worried at all. That world had an endless amount of jewelry. By the time she used it all up, she would have already reached a point where she didn't need to sell them anymore.

Even though that world was a post-apocalyptic one, it still had plenty of jewelry. Besides, she wasn't limited to just that one world forever.

"Miss Tracy, I'm really interested in what you said," Manager Yan said. "But I'm just a manager. I don't have that kind of authority.

If you want to sell the gold, I can offer 350 yuan per gram right now. But as for the partnership you mentioned, I'll need to ask my boss. If he agrees, I'll get back to you. Is that okay?"

"No problem. Here's my phone number. If your boss agrees, you can call me. I'll bring the jewelry designs over.

But please don't take too long to decide. Your company isn't the only one in this city," Tracy replied.

"Of course. Whether or not my boss agrees, I'll contact you as soon as possible," Manager Yan promised.

"Thank you, Manager Yan. Sorry to bother you today. I hope we'll have a chance to work together," Tracy said.

After leaving Baolai Jewelry Company, Tracy didn't go far. It was getting late, and soon Irish would be getting off work.

She planned to have lunch with her. After all, it was thanks to Irish that she found a connection today.

Tracy found a nearby coffee shop, ordered a cup of coffee, and waited for Irish to get off work.

Soon after she sat down, she noticed someone she recognized. But they weren't very close, and he seemed to be meeting someone, so she didn't say hello.

Cris had come to the coffee shop today because he was tracking an important spy. His team had received urgent news while he was on vacation, and he returned to duty immediately.

Some lab documents had been stolen. Cris's team had been tasked with retrieving the files and making sure the information wasn't leaked.

Right now, the spy hadn't left the city yet and hadn't found a way to send the files abroad. They had a few days to catch him before it was too late.

Luckily, the documents were encrypted. The spy would need several days to crack the codes. That gave the team some time to make the arrest.

Today, they got a tip that the spy would be at the coffee shop. So they came to watch and prepare to follow him.

Cris planned to tail him back to his base and recover the stolen documents.
