Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: Orphanage – Hello, Young Lucas. I Came Just to See You

Lucas slipped silently into the hallway, the door clicking shut behind him.

To the viewers of his live stream, this wasn't just a midnight stroll. It was the prelude to chaos.

> "Fk… fk, what's he doing?!"

> "I don't know, but someone's about to regret existing."

> "Get ready—any second now the system's going to slap a mosaic on the screen!"

Newer viewers, unfamiliar with Lucas's gameplay history, were confused.

> "What's with the overreaction? Maybe he's just going to the bathroom?"

At that, the older fans fell silent for a moment—then shared a look of indescribable knowing.

> "Watch the 'Terror Cruise' run," someone finally said. "Then tell us if Lucas ever goes out at night just to 'pee.'"

> "You know the streamer CreamOfTheCrop? Ask him if Lucas ever takes harmless night walks."

The comment section exploded with new fans rushing to pull up past footage.

Meanwhile, in the live broadcast, Lucas was already heading deeper into the orphanage.

> "Where's he going?"

"To follow the singing?"

"Does no one else hear it? Or are they all pretending to sleep?"

...

The further he walked, the louder the voice became.

> "My doll is a good doll,

With bright eyes and snow-white skin..."

A childlike voice echoed down the corridor, floating through the stale air like a lullaby from a forgotten time.

Lucas unsheathed his kitchen knife, the blade still stained faintly with blood. He moved without making a sound.

> "My doll is a good doll,

Even if it loses its head,

Its clear eyes still reflect the blue sky..."

Then he saw her.

A little girl with twin ponytails was dancing barefoot down the hallway, clutching a worn-out doll. She twirled it in circles, her voice melodic and unnerving.

Lucas's footsteps were nearly silent now as he drew closer.

> "My doll is a good doll,

Playing alone in the house..."

Then came the laugh—high-pitched, unhinged.

> "Hahahaha!"

The atmosphere shifted immediately.

Lucas suddenly spoke, his voice calm and composed.

> "Kid, aren't you supposed to be sleeping?"

---

> [Angel Orphanage – Little Ghost Girl: Low-Level Danger]

---

The girl's laughter stopped instantly.

She froze.

A kitchen knife pressed against the soft flesh of her neck.

The blade was cold. And stained.

> "You… you… you…" she stuttered.

Lucas smiled—the kind of smile that didn't reach the eyes.

> "Don't be afraid. I just want to ask for directions. I don't kill without reason."

To his surprise, that made her start crying—as if his promise was the most terrifying thing she'd ever heard.

Tears streamed silently down her face. Her hands trembled.

Lucas adjusted the blade slightly.

Instant silence.

> "Do you know Young Lucas?" he asked gently.

She nodded rapidly.

> "I-I do! I know him!"

Her voice cracked under the pressure.

> "He's… he's the scariest child in the orphanage…"

Lucas beamed.

> "Good. Now take me to his room."

...

> ❓❓

: Are you really going to visit Young Lucas?

: What's the point of meeting your childhood self?

: Wait… is he trying to form a connection with his younger self?!

: If these two versions of Lucas team up, the whole orphanage is doomed.

: THE CHILDREN ARE INNOCENT!

...

They reached Room 314.

Lucas traced the number on the wooden door with a finger.

> "Even the room number's the same…" he murmured.

He finally let the knife fall away from the little girl's throat.

She didn't wait to be dismissed—she bolted.

Lucas didn't chase.

> "I'll let you go. I've got bigger things to handle."

He adjusted his grip on the blade, then knocked three times.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

Inside the room, the boy known as Young Lucas stirred.

> "Who is it… Aunt May?"

A voice answered calmly from outside.

> "No. I'm a new staff member. I came here tonight just to see you."

Silence.

Then—

> Click.

The door opened slowly.

And behind it stood—

A boy with Lucas's face.

A younger version of him.

His expression was guarded, confused.

His brows furrowed.

> "Who are you?"

Lucas stood in the dim hallway. The flickering light above cast shadows across his face. One half was covered in darkness. The other wore a slow, deliberate smile.

> "Young Lucas..."

He spoke the name with reverence—and danger.

From inside the room, the boy's body stiffened.

He sensed it immediately.

> Danger.

> "As expected of myself," Lucas said softly. "You already know... that I'm not here to make friends."

The boy's eyes widened.

He tried to slam the door.

Too late.

The kitchen knife was already raised—

...

Back on the live stream:

> "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

"STOP! THIS ISN'T A BOSS FIGHT!"

"You're going to break the copy!"

"The system can't handle two Lucases!!!"
