Viora's conversation with her aunt, Lady Calyra, replayed in her mind as she made her way back through the palace halls.
The lack of even a brief flash of surprise on Calyra's face when Viora suggested that her mother, Princess Athea, might be hiding a secret child, a boy, no less, only added to the mystery. It was like her aunt wasn't surprised by that news at all, only alarmed.
Not only that, but her her aunt's attempts to dismiss the idea and convince her that she was overreacting were really surprising. She even suggested that maybe Athea had been browsing the media, and she had stopped on a random picture of a male child when she was interrupted by her daughter's arrival.
A good possibility perhaps. But the fact that Athea panicked to hide the picture was really telling. It made Viora suspect that she knows about Athea's secret.
