Chapter : 16 : Alchemy Grandmaster's Legacy :
" Drip ! Drop ! Drip ! Drop ! Drip ! "
" Huh ! So this is the cave."
" Hell ! This place is nasty ! Does that beast not even know how to clean its own place . "
After defeating the magical beast Cian quickly healed his injuries and took a quick rest .
He was really grateful that he was prepared this time .
From the healing elixir to the one he used against the magical beast where brought in preparation for this eventuality .
Although this costed him a fortune but due to the cash back card he was not only able to pay the money but also get a generous 6 times refund .
After recovering he quickly decided to go inside the cave and made himself a fire torch because even from outside the cave looked totally dark.
And the moment he entered the cave Cian was hit hard .
Not by a physical attack or any powerful beast .
But by an awful rotten smell .
He didn't have to think why there was such a smell in the cave because that answer was obviously clear .
So without wasting any more time he continued to walk forward and the more .
However to his horror he found that the more he went inside the cave the awful smell continued to rise even more .
It was as if the magical beast was taking revenge or him even after defeat .
" Darn it ! I should have brought some room fresheners with me . "
" I am going to smell like a garbage disposal when I go back . "
In the novel The Hero did have to face this problem and even Cian had somewhat prepared for it.
But still there was a difference between what someone read and what they experiences afterwards .
And in this case the experience was far worse then what was to be expected .
After a few minutes of the journey that was a test of patience and endurance for his nose Cian finally reached the inner area of the cave where the treasure was kept .
" I must say that this magical beast although not very smart but had some kind of intellect to collect various kinds of treasures . "
The beast had actually buried all the collected treasures under the soil and when it was dug up the amount really shocked Cian .
The collection was not something truly big like you would find in a noble household .
But for a beast in the jungle it was considerably large .
Obviously the magical beast did not get it by himself through normal means .
It took it from all those unfortunate humans and others who came in his path before .
" But right now I don't need any of this gold . "
Although the gold was good, there was an item that was far more important than all the gold combined over there .
And that was the thing that he came for .
" Eureka !!!! There it is . "
With an excited look Cian quickly started digging more .
Finally after sometime he found a small treasure box hidden within the soil even deeper than the rest .
When he finally took out the entire box it was the size of a small sized suitcase made of some kind of green iron .
At a first glance there was nothing extraordinary about it just a plain and simple box that looked a little fancy .
However Cian knew better .
" It seems that the magical beast was not able to understand what it was and since the treasure box was covered with a magical seal the beast was not able to open it or break it . "
" So that's why it buried it so deep . "
But that was not the problem for Cian who had specially prepared for it .
In the story it took the hero a few more days to find the way to open the box with the help of others.
But Cian was not going to take any help and came already prepared for it .
" But first of all I need to get out of this disgusting place . "
After getting what he wanted he had little to know reason or any wildest imagination of staying in that place for a single second extra .
So after packing up the rest of the treasure which obviously he is not going to leave behind he quickly left the cave .
The moment he got out of that cave the first thing Cian did was to take in a few deep breaths of fresh air .
This air felt like the most delicious delicacy at this moment .
After getting his mind and nose fresh from the disgusting impuriity of the cave he turn his attention to the treasure box in his hand .
" Alright let's see what we have got . "
" Click ! Clang ! "
After carefully opening the magical seals the box opened up with a loud ' Crank ' .
Finally when looked inside there were a few items carefully kept within the box .
The first was a diary that looked like a journal or a biography .
When he opened it the first page had a line written over it .

Greetings to anyone who found this box in the future .
I am Cromo Verimo an Alchemist Grandmaster who dedicated all his life in wondering the world and finding all kinds of mysteries of Alchemy .
I have travelled around the continent of Aethelgrada and have also made some small journeys across the abyssal continent and have found a lot of knowledge .
However in my travels I have also met an unfortunate situation and my condition is not good . As such I won't be a member of this world for long .
And since I don't have any one to carry my will or any family , hence I will leave my legacy behind in this diary and some magical books .
The diary is the record of my journey throughout the different landscapes and all the mysteries I have seen .
The book on the other hand contains all my Alchemist formulas and everything I have learned since my childhood from basics to higher level things . This includes all my personal experiences , notes and my very own alchemy formulas .
I have divided all my legacy into four different book and has spread them across the continent so you will have to find it yourself m
And anyone who can get this will be the owner of my entire legacy in the future .
In exchange for this legacy I can only hope that whoever find this will try to understand the true essence of Alchemy and will have a heart big enough for all the mysteries of the world .

A legacy especially from strong individuals are considered one of the rarest and most coveted treasures in this world .
Because in a legacy you are not only getting magical spells or techniques as a gift but you are literally inheriting an entire foundation .
This is a powerful shortcut to great power .
Because when you are learning from an alchemist legacy you are not only learning about basic formulas for basic knowledge you are gaining the soul ownership of the personal formulas created by that Grandmaster .
" And even though this book in my hand is only the first part of the entire legacy and only contains the basic it still a treasure of unimaginable value . "
In the original story line after the hero handed this book over to his sister Zeal Cloudseaker this knowledge alone took her through half of the Academy life .
It was on this base along with her intellect that she manage to be the top student in the Alchemy class of the Academy .
At the same time the daughter of the Duke who was also in the same class as her formed a deep rivalry that would become the basis of their future antagonistic relationship over the second prince .
While both of them fought with each other in the art of Alchemy during the classes it was Zeal Cloudseaker whonoften came on top .
Obviously Zeal Cloudseaker was talented in Alchemy.
However her talent alone was not enough to outpace the other side who was also naturally gifted to be an alchemist .
In fact If we are looking talent wise both of the girls where two of the top most talented Alchemist students in the Academy .
However due to the fact that Zeal Cloudseaker had a help in the form of this book she often outpaced her rivals .
" In the future she will manage to get all the 4 books and it will allow her to step into the Grandmaster realm and become the second youngest person in history to ever do so . "
This just brings to show that just how much plot armour can change the outcome of a scenario .
" All the books are hidden in throughout the continent and even though many high level people have tried to find the legacy for years none of them could find it . "
" And yet suddenly the hero party comes and they start getting clues and eventually finds the treasure . "
Thinking about it Cian could only shake his head helplessly .
But now this legacy belonged to him .
And he has no intentions of giving it to anyone else .
Just as he was thinking about it a system notification came .
" Ding ! System Notification : Host you have successfully changed the event where the main character was supposed to find the treasure legacy in the forest as such you have done a tier 2 change .
Host before I calculate your reward would you like to hear the explanation as to why this is considered a tier 2 change and not a tier 3 change .
" "
Looking at the system screen in front of him Cian's face twitched in annoyance .
' Just because I asked you a few questions of clarification before, so now you are starting to mock me . '
' I really miss judged you ' System ' . '
Obviously he understood why it was a tier 2 change .
While some might think that this change should be considered a tier 3 change because it is related to a legacy left behind by an Alchemist Grandmaster.
But it was not the entire thing .
" First of all while it was indeed an legacy left behind by an alchemist Grandmaster it was still not the entire thing. "
The first book only contained the basics of the knowledge and did not contain any truly Grand Alchemist formula .
' If I had gathered all the books for myself then it would be considered a tier 3 change . '
" Moreover the level of the change and it's tier is not determined by the value of the item but by how much the change itself affects the original story line . "
Not having this legacy will affect Zeal Cloudseaker's journey in the future making it much harder and possibly making her lose to her opponents in the Alchemy class .
But this is not something set in stone.
" Her original alchemy talent is indeed very good , on the same level as a main protagonist . "
" So even if she does not get this legacy she will eventually become an Grandmaster and it's just that it will take more time . "
It's just like the broken storage ring in the case of the hero .
While the broken storage ring did help the hero in the first part of journey it was not the most defining part .
And even without it the hero will still be the hero .
So in a manner while Cian had indeed changed the plot by taking one of the first important power ups that was supposed to go to one of the original main characters it was not something that would permanently affect the original story line .
" So no need to tell me the explanation Oh Great System and just give me my reward . " - Cian said with pure sarcasm dripping from his words .
" Ding ! As you wish host .... Your random rewards will be calculated in a few seconds .
