Chapter : 22 : Gravity Magic :
Location : Kingdom Of Valerion : Valerion Academy :
After entering through the door Cian found that it was a typical classroom .
In the centre of the room there was a teacher sitting with a large mirror like crystal on a table .
' According to my memory I remember this teacher as a minor character who only appears in the magical affinity test and never again . '
And just like him the are many such characters in the story that only appear once or on special events for a few seconds .
After that they are never seen in the story
And making changes that is related to these characters can only at best give a tier 1 change rewards .
' But hey ! A reward is a reward so if it can be acquired with reasonable effort then why not take it .'
Cian's philosophy was simple .
The amount of effort he would give to make a change happen directly depends on the following rewards and the risks .
If the reward was high he would take the risk of making the change .
But if the risk was too high and the reward was low than he would not make that change even if it means letting some things pass .
After all taking a risk that outweigh the corresponding reward is simply stupid .
For example he could have made some changes and stopped many early thanks related to the second prince and Jenny.
But in doing so there was a possibility that it may affect the future Apex battle which would be a for greater opportunity for him .
So that's why he decided to let those small chances go away in favour for a big catch in the future .
After all sometimes you need to play the game of patience to catch better opportunities .
Obviously there is an exception to this rule .
The only time he will break this philosophy if it is to help Liora or anyone he cares about .
Because at that time it would not be a matter of simple profit and loss .
" Student Cian V Keolos , please come and sit over here so that we can proceed with the test. "
After the teacher called him over he quickly started explaining what to do.
" First of all let me ask you something . "
" Have you already unlocked your mana yet . "
" If not then you can tell me and I can help you with that. "
In this world everyone is born with mana.
Some might gave very negligible amounts or some might have extreme amounts of it from birth .
But regardless of birth everyone has it within them because it humans or other races.

And on the day when there magical affinity are tested the academy unlocks their mana .
Fortunately for Cian his family had actually brought some resources to unlock his mana before his departure to the academy .
So he won't need it and quickly told it to the teacher .
" Alright ! since you already have your mana unlocked then we can move to the next phase immediately. " - the teacher said with a smile .
Unlocking someone's mana is a long process and takes a lot of concentration even for the academy teachers .
And he has been doing it for over past two hours and was quite tired of it .
So he was happy when he heard that Cian already had his mana unlocked.
" Alright now you need to put your hand over the Crystal over here and slowly pass your mana through the crystal . "
" You don't have to use much force but just enough so that the Crystal can judge your mana properly ."
Understanding what to do Cian quickly put forward his hand on the Crystal which felt Ice cold .
Then he quickly started to pass his mana through the crystal .
And automatically his passive skill - Mana Efficiency activated .
As Cian continued to pass through his mana on the crystal the teacher on the other hand was looking at the process with attention .
While most students only knew that this test was about finding their magical affinities , there was more to it .
Because this is also a test to see there natural mana control .
Mana control is an essential for every wizard be they be beginers or masters.
And sometimes people are born with much more mana control power then others.
This allows them to use the mana with much more efficiency .
This is very important for the students in their early stages because the more control you have from the start the easier it is to learn more control in the future .
' Let's see what we have here . '
So far as a teacher he has already seen many students coming in an out in this test .
Most of the students from the noble families already learned a basic amount of Mana control so there was not much to advise them for now .
On the other hand the commoners and other lower nobles had little to no control over there mana especially because they just unlocked it a few moments ago .
So he has been giving them advises after noticing their mana flow in the crystal .
And he thought that Cian will be also similar to them because while coming from a noble household it was after all at the bottom of the hierarchy .
So he did not expect much from him .
' Well just as expected he.... Wait ! What the hell . '
Just as the teacher was about to give some of his experienced advice to the young student he suddenly noticed something odd .
The mana flowing in the crystal was not chaotic it was actually flowing in a stable manner .
' The mana control of this boy is actually very good . '
It was certainly not on the level as some of the most prodigious students like the second prince .
But still it was far better than anything he expected from someone of Cian's background .
' Either he is gifted with such talents in mana control or he has practiced mana control before . '
But whatever it was no one can deny that the mana efficiency that Cian showed was very good by all standard for a beginner .
' Another good student ! I will note him down and tell professor Frost to give more attention to him . ' - he thought to himself with a smile forming on his face .
' I must say today has been quite a surprising day with so many unexpected talents coming up . '
The teacher was quite pleased today as this batch of students were quite good .
' First there was the boy called Zeal Cloudseaker . '
Although he lacked any good control over his mana the amount he was able to produce in his first time was exceptionally good .
But more importantly he has the unique light affinity something not seen quite often , especially not from a commoner .
Now another good student with potential was here so the teachers hopes were high .
Suddenly the crystal started to glow in a light blue light .
" Don't worry it's just processing your mana right now and it will be over in a minute . "
Just like the teacher said the glow disappeared after a minute which meant the result was out .
" Alright let's see the results . "
Without saying anything else the teacher started to process the information from the Crystal .
And after sometime he had the results .
" Congratulations ! it seems you have two types of magical affinities . " - the teacher said with a pleased expression on his face.
Hearing this Cian outwardly showed a happy smile but he was not quite surprised .
Infact Cian was a little disappointed because it meant without the system reward naturally he would only have one magical affinity .
That meant that his magical talents just like the rest of the people in his family was not quite good .
' But fortunately I have the system now . ' - Cian thought to himself .
By the time Cian was thinking all this the teacher started speaking again .
" Well it seems that the first magical affinity you have is for wind magic . " - he said .
" It's a very good and versatile magic as it is known for it's high speed movement and both offensive and defensive capabilities. "
Every magic in the world has some unique advantages to them .
For example the fire type magic is considered the one of the best when it comes to offensive actions whereas Earth type magic is considered good for defensive actions .
The lightening type magic like the one used by Delia Steelheart is also known for its speed and power .
The wind magic on the other hand is considered a versatile type of Magic as it has speed , power and both offensive and defensive capabilities .
And it is also quite easy to train in for beginners .
Just with this alone the teacher was quite happy and optimistic about Cian's future .
And even though this was nothing compared to the light magic affinity from before or the one's of the second Prince it was actually a good start .
' At least if he trains really hard and is luckyhe might just become an Archmage in the future . '
And it was actually a good future for someone belonging to a small noble household and it will increase their prestige by a lot .
Even Cian was quite pleased with this one .
As wind type Magic would perfectly compliment his archery skills and high speed movement .
Moreover he can develop his swordsmanship on the basis of the wind magic and there are multiple materials out in the academy for that .
Moreover there was also another reason .
' Neet ! Now I have the same type of Magic as Liora - guess we are fated together . '
Just thinking about it brought a smile to his face .
Now that both of them have affinities for wind magic it also means a certain event that would happen in the future can be triggered without the need for the hero party .
And that event is a tier 2 change at least .
' Or if I get lucky it might be considered a tier 3 change. '
This was really a golden ticket .
The teacher on the other hand did not know about his thoughts and continued with his work .
" Alright ! let's see what about the second one . "
But just as the teacher looked into the Crystal his eyes widened shock .
And without saying anything else he continued to look into the Crystal data frantically as if trying to verify something again and again .
" Uh ! Teacher ! what happened ? is something wrong ? "
Cian looking at the teacher's sudden change in expression quickly asked his voice a little shaky in eagerness .
' Did I get something unique ! Is that why the teacher's face changed so suddenly . ' - he thought to himself .
But when the teacher did not give him any answer , Cian immediately called out again .
But this time too there was no answer .
Now Cian was really getting impatient .
' Get shocked in your own time and just tell me already !!!! '
After Cian's third call the teacher finally came out of his shocked state and looked at Cian with a new kind of light in his eyes .
The pleasant surprise from before was gone and now it was replaced replaced by a genuine shock and somewhat in awe .
It was after sometime that he finally said the words that would shock Cian to the core .
" Cian.... your second magical affinity is - ' GRAVITY MAGIC . '
