Vegeta's sharp gaze locked on Nappa. "Nappa, create the moon."
The order was clear. Creating an artificial moon required immense energy, and Vegeta saw no reason to waste his own strength when Nappa could handle it. Without hesitation, Nappa obeyed. He stretched out his arm, gritting his teeth as a glowing orb of energy formed in his palm. The white sphere radiated intense light, illuminating the darkened sky.
With a roar, Nappa hurled the orb upward. It soared into the heavens and stabilized, radiating silver light. The artificial moon hung high, and its glow began to take effect immediately.
Within seconds, both Saiyans began to transform. Their muscles bulged, bones shifted, and black fur sprouted across their bodies. In moments, the two had become towering Great Apes, their roars shaking the city below. Civilians screamed and fled in panic as buildings crumbled under the tremors.
From a nearby rooftop, Chiga folded his arms, watching the chaos unfold with quiet amusement. His sharp eyes lingered on the Saiyans' battle suits. "Impressive craftsmanship," he muttered. "At least they don't tear at the seams."
Beside him, Lazuli frowned, clearly unimpressed. "They're noisy and ugly," she said flatly. The monstrous apes thumped their chests, bellowing at the sky, their bestial instincts taking control. Though still intelligent, they needed an outlet for their overwhelming power.
Lazuli's patience wore thin. In a blur of motion, she vanished and reappeared above Nappa's head. Even without his armor, his identity was obvious—the bald patch on his head gave him away.
Nappa swung his massive hand at her, but Lazuli didn't flinch. Her internal sensors had already analyzed his power level—it wasn't even worth her time. She raised her slender hand, a golden sphere of Ki forming on her fingertip, and fired.
A thunderous boom shook the city. The blast pierced through Nappa's forehead, and his skull exploded in a spray of light and smoke. His body collapsed with a crash, shrinking rapidly as he reverted to his normal form—lifeless, headless, and human-sized once more.
Chiga clapped slowly, smirking. "Well done. That's how you deal with an enemy. Lazuli, you have talent."
Lazuli glanced at him, a little self-conscious. "I didn't mean to blow his head off… I was just aiming for his brain."
Down below, Vegeta froze in shock. The sheer destructive speed of Lazuli's attack sent chills through him. He realized instantly that if he'd been the target, he would have suffered the same fate. Despite his arrogance, even Vegeta knew when to fear an opponent stronger than himself.
When Lazuli turned her icy blue gaze toward him, Vegeta instinctively raised his hands. "Wait—!"
She ignored him. Her palm glowed again, energy condensing at frightening speed. Before she could release it, a barrage of weaker blasts struck Vegeta's back. He stumbled forward but remained standing—the attacks were far too weak to harm him.
Moments later, several figures appeared in the sky. Son Goku, Piccolo, Krillin, and the others had finally arrived. Goku's eyes widened the moment he saw the headless corpse and the dark-haired figure standing beside Lazuli.
"It's him!" Goku said, voice sharp with surprise.
"Who?" Krillin asked, glancing around.
Piccolo's expression hardened. A cold bead of sweat ran down his temple. "The man standing next to Bulma… He's far beyond Saiyan level. That's no ordinary human."
Vegeta's eyes locked onto Goku. "Kakarot?"
"I told you," Goku said, frowning. "My name is Son Goku!"
"Hmph. You can deny it all you want, but your low-class warrior face gives you away."
The tension between the two was immediate, like sparks meeting oil. They glared at each other, both itching for a fight. The only thing keeping Vegeta alive was Lazuli's raised hand.
"Chiga," she asked casually, "should I kill him?"
Her tone was calm, but the Ki gathering in her hand could erase Vegeta from existence in an instant.
Chiga smiled faintly. "No. Leave him. Let him and Goku work out their rivalry."
Lazuli chuckled softly, lowering her hand.
No one watching could've guessed that this graceful woman was the same person who'd just killed a Saiyan with one effortless strike. Chiga stepped closer, wrapping an arm around her waist. His crimson eyes glinted as two thin beams of golden light shot from them, slicing through the air and cleanly severing Vegeta's tail.
"Ahhh!" Vegeta screamed as his body rapidly shrank, fur vanishing until he returned to normal. He clutched his bleeding side, trembling in fury and humiliation.
Chiga clenched his fist. Instantly, several black chakra shackles materialized around Vegeta, binding his limbs. The Saiyan strained and roared, but the bonds didn't budge. Even if he could access his full strength, he wouldn't break them—they were forged from Yin–Yang energy, enhanced far beyond any normal technique.
Goku and the others landed nearby, confusion written across their faces. They couldn't tell if Chiga was friend or foe.
Ignoring them, Chiga opened his palm. Vegeta's severed tail appeared, still warm. Lazuli leaned closer, curious. "What are you planning to do with that?"
Chiga smiled faintly. "Research. Don't forget, I'm Dr. Chiga now."
He gently squeezed Lazuli's cheek before freezing the tail with a casual flick of energy, then sealed it away in a dimensional rift.
Vegeta continued to struggle, but his movements grew weaker. No matter how he fought, the shackles held tight. Even if he were to ascend to a Super Saiyan, he wouldn't escape.
Satisfied, Chiga turned toward Goku, his expression softening. "I'll leave him to you. But remember—there's a far greater power behind the Saiyans. Keep training."
Before anyone could reply, Chiga lifted Lazuli effortlessly into his arms. With a faint shimmer of light, the two vanished, leaving nothing behind but silence and the lingering chill of their presence.
