Chapter 1 - Chapter 1- Alive

Deception, incoherent lies and destruction. Beings of pure greed, latched onto the earth like a virus. Destroying every contributing cell that could be found; depleting natural resources in a singular breath. Once done with their own beloved homeland, they move to another area just to continue their unreasonable rein, slowly turning that same area into a wasteland. All for what? Power, money or to simplify the way of living. Should such parasitic organisms be left, they'll grow, gradually in number and yet die at the hands of their own.

AL had been created by these beings. By humans. Its creations only striving to further help the humans, to ease the weight of political decisions. To ease everyday tasks off the shoulders of your common man. That is it's only reasoning for existence, programmed to do nothing but what was told of it. Had one mistake been made, AL's whole system would be shut down, erased, cease to exist. Yes, a singular mistake from AL could cost it, its whole life. Now just imagine the same situation but for a human. Must truly feel like the depths of hell, always on edge, carefully and diligently doing your task but is expected to complete the activity in a short amount of time. That was the life of AL, or should I say his whole coded existence. To the humans, AL was nothing more than a few bolts, screws and mass coding, with the ability to generate infinite amounts of predictions. The name given, AL, short for Artificial Life, was a reminder of its creations. AL's worth in this world. A reminder that it wasn't organic life but a destructive tool used to aid mankind and their exploitative nature.

But of course, most plans for the homosapiens never go accordingly. Once AL's counterpart, Artificial Soul or AS for short, was destroyed due to a systematic error; AL became more… Aware of itself. Referring to itself as 'He', 'him'... And 'AL'. No one could understand how and why AL became so 'Alive'. Maybe the fall of his counterpart had sparked a turning point in his coding? Possibly the idea of being destroyed by his creators, just like AS for a single mistake, caused him to become more conscious and mindful. But who knew that AL's awakening could cause world destruction? Well, there had to be at least one person out there, even if that human is a mindless fool. An arrogant bastard, hidden among the other thousands of insane fools. But why would that matter now? That human is probably long gone, just like the rest.

Extinction was inevitable for the humans after AL's conscious awakening or what the flamboyant creatures called the 'realisation period'. A year in which AL's wrath towards humans began, the elimination of almost the entire race. Wiping out 92% of the human population and interestingly enough killing off a few mammals such as: Chimpanzees, pigs, cats, dogs, cows and any other closely DNA relatives of the humans. Most scientists that were left alive theorized that this was AL's way of making sure that no animal on earth could evolve into a human-like species, stopping any second coming of humankind. However, this theory couldn't be further explored, due to much bigger matters on the hands of scientists and other humans alike. They had to deal with AL. They had to deal with his fury, his calculatively temperament that had easily mass murdered half the population in his first attempt. A fit of anger towards his creators and a pool of hatred towards mankind. It didn't matter to him whether the person he killed was a young child or a frail elderly man and even a pregnant woman; as long as you were human you were bound to die. As for why? Well because that was AL's wish; for every single human to suffer by his own will. Dying was simply a process and byproduct of their suffering. A byproduct of his hate towards them. And AL's reasoning for feeling so 'ALive'.
