Chapter 7 - I am Kazama Riku

(Kazama Riku POV)

I yawned as I walked out of my house, annoyed that it was Monday already.

"I barely got to play any games, why do they have to give so much homework?"

Hina was waiting for me outside, so that we could go to school together. It's awesome that her house is just down the road, makes it a lot easier to hang out with her.

"Good Morning Riku, how was your weekend?"

"Morning, it was boring as fuck. I did more homework than I've ever had before, they really weren't joking when they said Souhei High was intensive."

"Haha, that's true. It took me a while to finish mine as well," Hina giggled.

"Oh you finished it? Let me see it later, I only did half of it because it was so complicated."

"Um...I don't think that's a good idea. It was fine before, but apparently the teachers here check for copying before marking them. Plus you should take school a little more seriously Riku," Hina replied uncomfortably.

Why was she acting like this? It's just a weekend homework, not like I'm asking to copy from her final exams or anything.

"Oh come on Hina, just one time, pleeease?" I gave her the best puppy-face I could, it always works. Sure enough, she caved.

"..Fine, just this once, but you can't keep doing this ok?"

"Sure, this is the last time, thanks!"

We walked off towards Rose Park, planning on meeting Yuzuki-san there since it would be on the way. She's Hina's friend apparently, though I have no idea how they met.

She's crazy hot too, and her style is right up my alley. I might ask her out sometime, though I don't want to rush anything. I think we're starting to get closer, especially after I helped her with carrying those boxes for her part-time job so I don't think she'll say no.

Hina is there as a fallback anyway, she's been getting sexier lately too. Her nerdiness might be a little annoying though if we went out. She might pester me even more.

We've known each other since we were 6, so there's no chance she'll say no.

That student council president is really pretty too, but she seems like a block of ice. I've never talked to her, so maybe she's the tsundere type? That would be hot!

"Riku? Why are you spacing out?"

"Huh? Oh nothing, I was just thinking of something. Oh, there's Yuzuki-san!"

"Heyhey! Good morning you two, let's goo!"

Yeah, I was right. She's crazy sexy, but she is a little loud. We exchanged greetings and headed to school.

Hmmm, if I play my cards right, maybe I can get both of them? That's not too far-fetched actually, the senpai I knew in Junior High had two girlfriends, though neither of them were as hot as these two.

I don't know why but I feel like I can do it, there's just something in my head that tells me it's possible.

Suddenly I heard a shout to my left. Hina and Yuzuki-san were chatting so they didn't hear it, I turned to the left and I saw three big dudes that had our school uniform drag Ichihara from our class into an alleyway.

That wimp is being bullied again, should I call the patrol officer over there?

....Nah, if I help here, those three might come after me instead. Plus, maybe he deserved it? I don't know, let's just ignore it.

"Is something wrong Riku-tan?" Yuzuki-san asked when she noticed I had stopped.

"Nah it's nothing, I thought I saw someone I know. Hey look, that new boba place is open! Let's get a drink for on the way, we have enough time before homeroom!"

"Oh you're right, let's get something Haruna-chan," Hina said excitedly. She still liked sweet things so she was on-board.

For some reason, Yuzuki-san hesitated for a second but then she smiled.

"Sure! I'm curious too."

As we entered the store and I stroked my chin happily. Yeah, I definitely think I can do it. These two beauties don't hang out much with other dudes, and though Yuzuki-san talks to everyone, she only really stays with us.

I'm certain I can do this, let's just play it slowly though and build a foundation.

***

"Waahh, that was delicious! I'm definitely going there again," Hina exclaimed. She's usually quiet but when the topic is something she's really interested in, she becomes a chatterbox.

"Be careful, or you'll gain weight really quickly haha," I chuckled jokingly.

Hina just rolled her eyes and turned to Yuzuki-san.

"Wasn't it good Haruna-chan?"

"Yeah, it was awesome!"

As we walked along the school hallway, our conversation shifted to the after-school club choice that was coming up next week. The school gives freshmen a bit over a month to settle in before making them choose, plus it also gives the upper-years time to prepare for visits and advertise their respective clubs.

When we entered the class, Yuzuki-san shifted to Hina.

"Hina-tan, what club are you going to join? Tell me pleaaase, I might join with you!"

"I-I don't know yet Haruna-chan, I'm still thinking about it," Hina replied.

It's not that big of a decision, is it? It's just a regular club, I'll probably just skip most of the meetings for whichever one I choose just like I did in junior high.

"Why does it matter, just choose whatever and go with it."

"Geez, Riku-tan! That's not a good way to choose anything you know? This is imp-or-tant!" Yuzuki-san pouted. She's cute when she acts like this.

"Yeah Yeah, whatever you say."

I saw the other guys looking at us, the jealousy very obvious in their eyes. I can't blame them, most people would kill to be in my situation, so I just smirked at them as we sat at our desks.

Look all you want idiots, I'm the one they like after all!

"Well, Haruna-chan, do you have any ideas on what club you want to join?" Hina asked curiously.

"Hmmmm, let's see. I'm debating between cooking and dance. They both sound fun, but if your choice sounds interesting I'd rather go with you Hina-tan!"

"Oh, I still haven't decided. I think I'll do more research since we have another week before the deadline."

Again with the nerdiness, it's getting funny at this point, But when I said that out loud, neither of them laughed like I thought they would. They both looked kind of sad actually, even though it was just a joke.

"I was just joking, geez. It's not that deep."

Just as I thought about consoling them, the door to the class slid open loudly and a chillingly cold voice rang out across the room.

"Where is Yagami Reiji?"

Woah, it's the student council president! Damn, she really is hot but I feel like I'd get stabbed by her eyes if I tried to talk to her.

Why was she looking for that trash anyway? Ah right, I think he punched someone again on Friday. If he didn't have such a scary backing, he'd probably have been expelled by now. What a shame.

I looked to the back of the class where the trash usually sat, but there was some other dude there instead. A crazy good-looking guy with a wolfcut and earrings.

Eh? Wait that's the trash isn't it, what the fuck? Why did he change his style? And why the hell is he so handsome? That's not good, a delinquent like that might misuse his looks to trick women. I need to protect Hina and Yuzuki-san!

The president asked for the trash again, and this time he stood up and replied.

"I'm here Prez, no need to shout."

Hmph, look at his attitude. No wonder he's so trashy, he doesn't even respect the Ice Princess.

As they both walked out, the class started to murmur about him again.

They were mainly commenting on his looks, but the guys focused on his despicable behavior like they should.

"Damn, Hina-tan! I didn't know Yagami-san was so handsome, I think my heart skipped a beat!" Yuzuki-san whispered to us. That sentence scared me so much that I didn't even notice the joking tone in her voice.

"Be careful of that trash Yuzuki-san, you too Hina! I've heard that he uses and abuses women and then throws them away!" I muttered angrily.

Of course that wasn't really true, the rumors were usually about Yagami getting into fights and bullying people so there wasn't anything about how he treated women. But some women like bad boys like that for whatever reason, and Yuzuki-san who is a gyaru might be that way as well.

He couldn't take any chances, so he warned them both.

"H-Huh? I think all the bad things he did is related to fighting though?" Hina asked with a confused expression.

"I have insider info, apparently his family paid off the victims to keep them quiet," I replied in a panic. The lie was getting a little too big, but I had to stick with it for now.

"What!? That's terrible! I didn't think he was that type of person!"

Thankfully it seemed Yuzuki-san bought it, her disdain clear in her voice.

"R-Right, so I think you should stay away from him."

I don't know why I felt so threatened by him. Even if he was good-looking, it kind of felt like there was more to why I was so panicked. Similar to the notion that made me believe that I could get both Hina and Yuzuki-san, it was warning me that the trash was more dangerous than he seemed.

Yagami returned after a few minutes and went back to his seat. I glanced at him from the corner of my eyes and made a firm decision. I had to keep them away from him at all costs...

I won't let you take my harem, Yagami. That's a promise!
