Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Training

King Kai's energy blasts shot out in all directions, flying toward Raditz from every angle.

Raditz held Gohan tight, his movements slightly sluggish, but fortunately he was already familiar with the increased gravity. He moved with all his strength to dodge at high speed, jumping through the dense barrage of energy waves, repeatedly escaping the attacks.

In the blink of an eye, dozens of attacks came and went, all of which Raditz managed to dodge.

"This seems too easy." King Kai was surprised at how powerful the Saiyan was and immediately shouted: "I need to speed up!"

As he said that, King Kai launched an even more violent attack. His hands moved faster, and energy blasts hit one after another.

The first shot grazed Raditz's back, almost sliding past him and making him tense up. Without giving him much time to recover, the second and third shots came in rapid succession. The super-fast speed made Raditz flustered, and he was no longer as relaxed as before.

"Oh!"

The third shot hit him directly.

With an explosion, smoke and dust filled the air. Raditz rolled several times before falling to the ground.

He could feel his internal organs rattling, and intense pain shot through every nerve. Worse still, Gohan was also stunned by the explosion and fell directly onto Raditz's chest, knocking the wind out of him.

"Damn, I'm not even close to ready..."

Raditz smiled wryly, got up again, and continued training.

Everyone became immersed in their practice, no one slacking off. King Kai reminded them daily of when the Saiyans would arrive, keeping everyone's nerves tightened and pushing them to work harder.

In addition to regular training, Raditz did extra physical exercises every day. His regimen was harder than the others', and his progress was amazing. King Kai saw this and praised him repeatedly, while marveling at the incredible fighting potential of the Saiyan race.

It took a month for both Goku and Piccolo to catch Bubbles and join Raditz in advanced training, while the others continued their pursuit. Gohan, worthy of his Saiyan blood, gradually became familiar with the ten-times gravity and was able to walk slowly around the planet.

...

In the blink of an eye, half a year passed. Almost everyone had made rapid progress under King Kai's guidance. Raditz chose Goku as his sparring partner, while Piccolo couldn't get along with the others and finally partnered with Gohan. The rest paired up as well, each starting their combat training.

"BOOM!"

The loud noise echoed across the sky above King Kai's planet as two figures intertwined in combat, leaving only traces of their movements in the air. The force of their fists spread outward, gusts of wind blowing up and wrinkling the silk-like grass below, creating waves across the surface.

Goku and Raditz! The blurred figures of the two stopped mid-air, then turned to face each other again.

Goku swung his right fist, aiming a hammer blow at Raditz's face. The powerful strike generated strong winds as it cut through the air. Raditz calmly stretched out his left hand and caught Goku's fist before its full strength could be exerted!

Goku tried to break free, but he wasn't as strong as Raditz, so he quickly kicked with his left leg. Raditz had anticipated this, raising his right arm to block the kick. Immediately afterward, he flipped his wrist and grabbed Goku's ankle instead. He swung his right hand down hard while instantly releasing his left hand.

"Whoosh!"

"BOOM!"

A large crater formed in the ground, with Goku lying in the center, crying out in pain.

"It's not over yet." Raditz pressed his advantage, firing several energy bombs in succession, blasting at Goku just as King Kai had done during his training.

Goku immediately jumped out of the crater, dodging quickly and approaching Raditz while weaving through the attacks. He had already adapted to the gravity's burden, and without his weighted clothing, his speed was extremely fast. After a few flashes, he arrived right in front of Raditz.

"Ha!" Raditz had been ready for this, raising his leg for a sweeping kick.

The kick drew a sharp arc through the air, aiming directly for Goku's waist.

At that moment, a red aura erupted around Goku, his power surging dramatically. In an instant, Goku vanished, moving so fast that even Raditz couldn't track him.

Kaio-ken!

By the time Raditz reacted, Goku had already appeared behind him, clasping his hands together like a hammer and raising them above his head before bringing them down hard! At the last second, Raditz twisted his body at an almost impossible angle, narrowly avoiding Goku's attack. Even so, the sheer force of the wind from the punch shattered a corner of the shoulder armor on Raditz's battle suit.

Goku pressed forward, jumping close to throw several rapid punches.

"Don't get too cocky!" Raditz dodged left and right, adjusted his posture, and then started fighting back. The two confronted each other with both fists, attacking continuously in a frenzied manner. In the air, only shadows of their fists could be seen, the movements too fast for the eye to follow.

After hundreds of exchanges, both Raditz and Goku became increasingly excited as they fought. The Saiyan blood in their veins was ignited, and they resorted to their most instinctive and fierce fighting methods. They collided directly with each other, causing violent shock waves!

"Wham! Crack! Smack! Thud!"

Goku grew more confident as the battle progressed, his strength amplified by the Kaio-ken technique, making him a match for Raditz.

Gradually, Raditz found himself being pushed back by Goku, often caught off guard between exchanges.

"HA!"

Excited and determined, Raditz gritted his teeth and shouted, activating the Kaio-ken himself. Red light erupted all over his body, burning like flames as his fighting power soared.

It happened so quickly that Goku had no time to react and could only continue his attack. The two fighters tore through the air, their fists colliding with a thunderous boom. Shockwaves rippled outward like a storm. This time, Raditz landed a direct hit to Goku's chest. The force seemed to penetrate through Goku's body, sending him flying backward with a loud crack.

After taking the punch, Goku slammed into the ground again, creating another deep crater. The red aura of the Kaio-ken dissipated around him.

The situation made Raditz involuntarily switch to showboating mode as he shouted with his hands on his hips: "My foolish brother, with your incomplete mastery of Kaio-ken, you can't defeat me!"

Even Raditz felt a little embarrassed after such a clichéd declaration.

Seeing everyone looking at him blankly, Raditz blushed even more, feeling self-conscious.

"Wow, that was amazing!" Gohan was the first to exclaim.

"Yeah, as expected of Raditz."

"Goku's brother is much stronger than him."

"Those words were so cool! I need to work harder!"

Although Piccolo didn't join in the praise, he turned to Gohan and clenched his fist. "Boy, look! We're fighting next!" As he spoke, he lightly punched Gohan in the face, followed by a barely audible "thwack."

"..."

Raditz was caught off guard by their unexpected reactions. They were actually impressed!

Looking at Goku slowly getting back to his feet, Raditz felt a sense of unease. If he hadn't used the Kaio-ken just now, he might have been overwhelmed by Goku. As expected, his brother's talent was extraordinary.

I need to train even harder!
