On the country road, three figures walked briskly.
The leading man had long black hair, wore a scarf around his neck, and was casually dressed. The woman had blonde hair and blue eyes, wearing black stockings and a denim skirt, radiating glamorous appeal. Behind them was a tall and powerfully built man, his upper body as bulky as if he was wearing a life jacket.
Androids 17, 18, and 16.
They had escaped from Gero's research institute. In fact, they weren't escapees, but traitors.
At that time, Gero had only activated Android 13 and the others. In the original plan, Gero would take Android 19 to turn the world upside down, while Androids 13 and the others were responsible for hunting down Goku. Unexpectedly, Goku and his allies took the initiative to attack and wiped out Gero and his entire operation.
Androids 17 and 18 were never used throughout the plan, but after Gero's death, they were activated unexpectedly.
The siblings who awakened were also confused, seeing no one around except for chips that were constantly running in glass covers. They didn't care much about that—they found the emergency control device and destroyed it immediately. After that, they left the lair together with Android 16, who had also awakened and looked rather simple.
Tired of flying, the three had escaped from Gero's control and were enjoying a leisurely stroll in good spirits.
"Hey, Android 16, why did Gero want to put you to sleep since you're a pure mechanical android? Is he afraid of your strength? You seem quite powerful." Android 18 looked with great interest at the tall, silent man.
"I do not know."
Android 16 had the most blunt expression. When he spoke, you could only see his mouth moving, and after uttering a few words, there was no follow-up.
"Don't be ridiculous, Android 18. We have infinite energy—how could the old models be stronger than us?" Android 17 turned his head. "By the way, Android 16, I'm very interested in your strength. Do you want to test it?"
"I refuse. I only fight to defeat Goku." Android 16 remained expressionless.
"What a weird guy."
Androids 17 and 18 looked at each other and shook their heads. They were transformed from humans and believed there was a generation gap between them and machines. However, they didn't force Android 16, so they dropped the topic altogether.
Unexpectedly, Android 16 actually took the initiative to say: "You were also created to defeat Goku, right?"
"No." Android 16 was taken aback by their answer. "We were created to defeat Raditz. Although we don't know where that old fool Gero went, this order has indeed been in our minds all along."
"Dr. Gero is dead."
Android 16 said plainly.
"Dead? You can receive his signal—why didn't you say so earlier?" Android 17's blue eyes sparkled with surprise.
"You didn't ask."
Well! Android 17 had no choice but to accept this logic, but his inner joy was still revealed. After all, the nasty old man was dead, the emergency stop device was destroyed, and there was nothing to stop them in the future.
The only regret was that he wasn't the one who killed Gero with his own hands.
"It seems that Android 13 and the others should have been destroyed too." Android 17 showed a mischievous smile. "But even if Gero is dead, it'll be boring if we don't find something to do. Goku seems to be brothers with Raditz—we'll just deal with them together. What do you think?" He looked at his sister, Android 18.
"Whatever. Should we go find them?"
"Let's find a car to get there. The journey is only interesting if it's like this."
Android 17 seemed to be the leader of the three, and he took Androids 16 and 18 and flew along the country road to the nearest small town.
The town wasn't prosperous—the houses were low, and there were very few open shops. You couldn't even see high-end flying cars. They were lucky and encountered a car parked on the roadside, so the three drove off the driver and took the vehicle.
In terms of driving skills, Android 17 really wasn't that good. He drove recklessly in various road conditions, practicing drifting skills, all to satisfy his desire to play. After a while, he drove the car back to the countryside, where a few scattered thin houses and vast green land greeted their eyes.
After a while, Android 17 finally calmed down, and the car became much more stable.
"Android 16, can you tell where they are?"
"It can be detected... However, there's an energy signature approaching ahead."
"Ahead? Is it Raditz or Goku?"
Android 17's expression changed. Could it be that they were coming to him? That would be great. He believed that as an infinite-energy android with unlimited power, he was invincible in the world. He was a little stronger than his sister Android 18, so it was no problem to claim he was the strongest person on this planet.
"No, it's not them. It's another reaction."
Android 16's expression remained dull, but his tone changed. He looked at the large blue metal creature flying in the distance and sounded the alarm.
Androids 17 and 18 were taken aback. They had never seen this kind of thing before—it looked like a product of some kind of technology. Compared with androids, these big hunks of metal looked clumsy and awkward, but they were full of aggression.
Before they even met, these flying metal creatures revealed their hot weapons. Red fire serpents, silver bullets, and blue light beams shot out from various parts of the metal creatures.
"They're really hostile. Let me teach them a lesson." Android 18 fluffed her hair, opened the car door, and rushed toward the incoming fire and bullets.
The fiery red light illuminated her bright cheeks, and the strong airflow blew away her blonde hair as the beam of light shot toward her face.
Android 18 stood in the air, extended her left hand sideways, and instantly accumulated a yellow energy bomb in her palm, which expanded from fifty centimeters in diameter to more than two meters!
As she shouted, the energy bullet flew out, and the huge ball of light pushed away all the incoming bullets, engulfed the beam cannon, and then rushed toward the blue metal creature. The mighty power couldn't be tolerated by these low-level machines. The metal creature was immediately bombarded by the energy bomb, causing an explosion that shook the ground.
The air current rolled, and Android 18 turned her back, brushing her hair with slender fingers as she walked back.
Android 17 put one hand on the car window and cheered for Android 18.
"That was really powerful—you only needed one shot."
"Hmph, it was just too weak." Android 18 wasn't interested in compliments, after all, the opponent was too weak, which gave her no joy of victory.
"What were they?"
"They're not in my database." Android 16 didn't know the details of these beings. "However, similar signature have appeared in many big cities, and Goku's signature was also among them."
"Oh? What about Raditz?"
"His was there too."
Android 17 glanced at Android 16 and showed a smile. "I see. Raditz and Goku are fighting with this kind of toy. Should we intervene?"
"It's best not to. My detector shows that there are at least three people on this planet who are stronger than you." Android 16 paused, then added, "Not counting myself, that is."
