The twelve hours required for the ceremony scared Beerus and his party into leaving, hastily arriving on Earth instead.
Rather than wait such a long time, it was better to have a good meal on Earth and return after Raditz succeeded. Beerus and Whis were like-minded when it came to food, and they couldn't wait to find Bulma and the others as soon as they arrived.
The people who'd returned to Earth were also hungry, and everyone felt exhausted after their fusion wore off. Only a grand feast could resolve the resentment in their stomachs. So Bulma immediately arranged a sumptuous meal.
Seeing that everyone had returned from another adventure with the chubby Majin Buu in tow, Tights grew curious and ran to the rooftop holding a small notebook, her eyes shining brightly.
"Tell me what happened this time!"
"Lord Beerus, the God of Destruction, is here—be careful!" someone reminded her.
But Tights waved dismissively. "It's not the first time we've met. He often comes to our house for dinner." Then she looked at Beerus and greeted him warmly, not treating him like an outsider at all.
Beerus took a sip of cold drink and whispered, "Whis, why do I feel like she's saying we just come here to mooch food?"
"Hehe, it's their honor to offer food to Lord Beerus."
Whis covered his mouth and smiled.
"Of course! But she's as noisy as Bulma!" Beerus glanced at her and snorted. "If it weren't for the food, I would have destroyed her long ago."
"Hahaha, you can't stop reading Tights's novels. When I came last time, she secretly told me you asked her to add more scenes for you."
"How did you know!" Beerus asked in surprise.
Whis smiled mysteriously but didn't answer. There were very few things in the world that could be hidden from angels—even Beerus's every move was under angelic observation.
However, Whis knew this was actually because Tights had complained to him that Beerus demanded too much, making her unable to write at all.
Besides Beerus feasting, Majin Buu also seemed to be in heaven, saying "you didn't lie to me" while eating happily.
Goku, having eaten his fill, had already raised his fighting spirit. He approached Majin Buu and issued a challenge. "Buu, we agreed to fight again."
"Wait a minute—I haven't had enough yet." Buu was immersed in the ocean of culinary happiness with no will to fight. His appetite was bigger than a Saiyan's—almost bottomless.
Goku felt disappointed and frowned.
At that moment, Vegeta came over and grabbed Goku. "Hey, Goku! Are you trying to secretly challenge Majin Buu again? It should be my turn this time!"
"We already agreed!"
"Hmph! We made a promise last time, but you took the lead!" Vegeta didn't back down, pressing his forehead against Goku's until they were almost touching.
The gazes of the two intertwined like electricity, fire burning in their pupils, and a wave of air surged around them, rolling away like a torrent.
Bulma, Gure, and the others looked at each other and smiled helplessly. Saiyans were like this. They didn't know what was so important about it—perhaps only the warrior race cared so much about fighting.
CRASH! Suddenly a plate fell to the ground, and a crisp sound spread across the rooftop.
Immediately afterward, unparalleled pressure enveloped the entire area, and everyone suddenly stopped all movement, as if time itself had frozen! Beerus stood up, his entire body exuding faint purple flames, and his golden pupils filled with cold light.
"I was saving that last mango pudding to eat at the end, and it fell on the floor! Damn it!"
Beerus glared furiously at the pudding remnants on the ground, feeling extremely annoyed in his heart. The gods only knew how much self-control and anticipation it had taken for him to resist eating that pudding until the end! With Goku and Vegeta's confrontation, the plate had fallen to the ground, and his cherished expectation was shattered with a crash.
How could he not be angry! "Aren't you two itching to fight?! Then I'll fight you!" Beerus's tone was ice-cold, making everyone tremble.
Bulma rushed over quickly. "Hey, don't make a mess here! I'll prepare pudding right away."
"Miss Bulma, this is none of your business. You can't stop Lord Beerus now." Whis smiled and pulled Bulma away, making a shushing gesture. "Don't worry—Lord Beerus isn't really going to kill them. He just wants to vent his anger."
Still, the God of Destruction's wrath wasn't something to take lightly.
Goku and Vegeta realized they'd caused trouble. With their strength, they were insignificant before Beerus, yet they'd made him angry.
"Hurry up and become Super Saiyan Gods! Whis said you also have considerable potential, so let me see it. If you lose, I'll destroy the Earth!"
"Ah!" Everyone was shocked, nearly spitting out the food in their mouths.
Lord Beerus was too capricious. He'd been fine just moments ago, then turned on them in an instant. But who could blame him? He was the God of Destruction—being willful was his prerogative.
Goku and Vegeta looked at each other. They had no choice but to fight.
This was a challenge from Beerus, the God of Destruction! It was natural for them to be afraid, but besides fear, they were also extremely excited! The two gathered everyone's strength and successfully transformed. The red-haired god was born in brilliant radiance. Beerus's eyes lit up. "It's the same state as Raditz, but you haven't fully mastered autonomous transformation yet."
"Two against one—we won't hold back!"
"Go ahead!" Beerus said domineeringly, unmoved.
Goku and Vegeta exchanged glances and immediately flew into the sky! Their energy at this moment was too immense. Once they truly fought, it would likely cause irreparable damage, so the two wanted to lead the battlefield into space and leave the troposphere behind.
Since Goku and the others intended to go to space, Beerus immediately followed.
It was the same for him wherever he fought. As a God of Destruction, he could control power superbly and use it precisely, so even when fighting on the ground, he could minimize damage.
Three beams of energy arrived above Earth one after another. Behind them was the vast background of the universe, where the tremendous power of gods converged!
Beerus looked at the two and extended one arm, waving at them.
This was an extremely confident gesture, allowing Goku and Vegeta to attack at will—even implying he could fight with only one arm.
Goku smiled faintly, grinning. This was too contemptuous! Though Beerus was the God of Destruction, they were also Super Saiyan Gods! Provoked by Beerus's actions, Goku clenched his fists. With a movement of his figure, the red phantom rushed forward, and Vegeta flew like a phantom at almost the same instant, at unimaginable speed.
Earth was shrouded in inexplicable chills. People couldn't sense divine ki, but their scalps tingled and their muscles and bones trembled.
Gohan and Videl, far away at the World Tournament, were entering the finals when they suddenly felt inexplicable tremors. Their hearts beat violently as they looked up to the sky.
There was nothing visible in the sky, but oppressive pressure continued to descend. The stronger a person was, the more they could feel the overwhelming tension—but even Gohan didn't know what it was.
