Chapter 417 - Chapter 417: Universe Six's Challenge

After receiving Vados's invitation, Raditz and Zangya made preparations, packing various delicacies for Champa into universal capsules.

Besides the three members of the Raditz family, Broly and Android 18 also joined them. Android 16 chose to remain behind as caretaker, politely declining Raditz's invitation. Rukon sat excitedly on Broly's broad shoulders, chattering away.

Though Zangya and 18 appeared calm and composed, waves of anticipation stirred beneath their surfaces. After all, crossing between universes wasn't something one could do on a whim. This would be everyone's first time.

"Everyone ready? Let's go!" Raditz gathered them together and called out.

"Let's go, Dad!" Rukon could barely contain himself.

Raditz smiled and led everyone first to the Realm of the God of Destruction.

The Realm of the God of Destruction stood as one of two cosmic vertices—a place of breathtaking beauty with lush emerald landscapes stretching in all directions. The gravity here was many times stronger than Earth's, but everyone present was extraordinary. Such pressure meant nothing to them.

Seeing Raditz and his group arrive, Whis immediately stepped forward. "That was quick! This is the advantage of being a Supreme Kai."

"Haha, you're too kind, Whis. Are you certain there's no problem bringing so many people?"

"Don't worry. With divine approval, mortals can travel between universes without violating any regulations." Whis glanced at Beerus, who was lounging nearby. "The only issue is that Lord Beerus refuses to come."

"Hohoho, the brothers really won't see each other?"

"Hmph! Too busy!" Beerus turned his head away, pointedly ignoring Whis and the others.

Raditz and Whis exchanged knowing smiles. This God of Destruction—who had lived for eons beyond counting—threw tantrums like a child. More petulant than an actual child, even.

"Then let's be off." Whis tapped his staff against the ground.

Immediately, a massive circle spread across the green grass as rainbow light enveloped them. The beams converged into a single brilliant column shooting toward the heavens, forming an otherworldly passage. Witnessing Whis's divine power firsthand, Zangya and Rukon stood mesmerized by the dazzling display.

The brilliant, multicolored light resembled the space-time tunnels of the Time Kai's realm. A rainbow bridge stretched from the Realm of the God of Destruction to its distant terminus, directly crossing between the two universes.

"Hey, Raditz! Don't embarrass me out there!" Just before the light faded completely, Beerus suddenly turned and shouted.

The voice reached their ears clearly, causing Whis to smile with knowing eyes. "Lord Beerus still cares about you, it seems."

"He's tsundere," Raditz muttered to himself.

"What was that?" Whis asked curiously.

"Nothing, just talking to myself..."

Whis didn't press further, merely casting a puzzled look.

After a brief journey through the space-time passage, everyone entered Universe Six on waves of temporal energy. However, their destination wasn't the God of Destruction's realm, but rather a specially created neutral zone.

A square platform covered by a transparent hemispherical energy barrier floated suspended in the void. The entire space possessed a light, elegant aesthetic—floors paved with pristine stone tiles beneath a jewel-like azure sky.

The moment they arrived, Raditz was taken aback by the welcoming committee.

Beyond the familiar faces of Champa and Vados stood several strangers. Next to Champa was a rotund, green-skinned middle-aged man wearing Supreme Kai robes. His distinctive hairstyle and Potara earrings confirmed his identity as Universe Six's Supreme Kai. Behind him stood a tall, slender attendant and an apprentice Supreme Kai sporting a single green earring.

"You arrived quickly—welcome." Vados immediately greeted them upon their appearance.

"Lord Champa and Lord Fuwa are both here?" Whis seemed surprised to see the Supreme Kai and God of Destruction together. "Sister, what are you planning?"

"At Lord Fuwa's request, we invited Raditz to visit and speak with him."

Vados explained with a gentle smile. At the same time, the group of Universe Six deities approached.

Raditz and his companions had encountered enough gods by now that they weren't intimidated by Universe Six's Supreme Kai and God of Destruction. They exchanged greetings all around. Fuwa, Universe Six's Supreme Kai, was gracious and kind, even bowing respectfully to Raditz's group.

Champa merely nodded, but the apprentice Supreme Kai behind Fuwa proved even more arrogant than the God of Destruction himself. He didn't acknowledge Raditz's greeting at all, standing rigidly with an expression of cold indifference.

"And this is...?" Raditz frowned, discomfort flickering across his features.

"This is my candidate, Doren." Fuwa spoke with slight embarrassment. "I actually asked Vados to invite you here at Doren's request."

"Oh? Doren... An apprentice Supreme Kai who won't even return a greeting?" Raditz spoke half-jokingly, half-seriously.

Unexpectedly, Raditz's words caused Doren's expression to shift dramatically. He stepped forward, positioning himself beside Fuwa, and pointed accusingly at Raditz. "You were just an apprentice Supreme Kai a few years ago, weren't you? How did you become a full Supreme Kai in such a short time? I've been training diligently for tens of thousands of years! I heard you're supposedly very powerful, so I'll challenge you today. If you lose, stop pretending to be a god!"

Fuwa immediately shouted, "Silence! Doren, watch your tone! This is the Supreme Kai of Universe Seven!"

Doren held his tongue, the muscles around his mouth tightening. "Yes."

Though he said nothing more, everyone could see Doren's profound dissatisfaction. His handsome face was flushed with indignation.

Raditz suddenly understood. Doren, Universe Six's apprentice Supreme Kai, was jealous of him. He'd specifically requested this meeting to prove his own worth through combat. Raditz understood the feeling somewhat—tens of thousands of years of hard work being surpassed by someone's few years of progress would definitely create resentment.

However, this was simply the difference between individuals. Saiyans possessed inherent advantages that couldn't be overcome through time alone.

"It's fine, Lord Fuwa. I accept his challenge. Since Miss Vados went to the trouble of creating this environment specifically for this purpose, we shouldn't let her efforts go to waste." Raditz readily agreed.

Doren looked momentarily surprised, then smiled.

"Hey! You've all been talking for long enough—it's my turn now!" Champa couldn't restrain himself any longer. He rushed toward Raditz. "I don't care how you beat him—just hand over the food!"

"Yes, yes." Raditz produced the capsule and offered it to him.

Champa clutched the tiny object as if he'd won the greatest treasure, beaming with delight.

Vados suddenly reached out and snatched the capsule away. "Lord Champa, we agreed that I would manage this. Please take your seat as referee."

"Tch... what's even the point of this fight? The outcome's already decided." With the capsule now in Vados's possession, Champa deflated visibly.

In his eyes, though Raditz was far beneath his own level, he vastly exceeded average mortals. Fuwa's candidate stood no chance whatsoever. Rather than waste time, he'd prefer to return home and rest.

Doren didn't know Raditz's true strength—only the rumors claiming he was remarkably powerful. After cultivating for so many millennia himself, he refused to accept it. He insisted on competing with Raditz to prove he possessed the capability to assume the Supreme Kai position, and that Raditz was unworthy of the title!

On typical days, Doren was kind-hearted and talented, but his arrogance and pride gave Fuwa constant headaches. The Supreme Kai had been trying to temper these qualities for ages. After Doren proactively suggested this challenge, Fuwa had deliberated at length before making his request to Vados.

Raditz might not have come if Fuwa had invited him directly, but with Vados extending the invitation, he had little choice but to accept.

But Doren remained oblivious to Fuwa's good intentions. He fixed his eyes on Raditz and clenched his fists.
