"Young man, forbidden jutsu should not be abused," Tobirama Senju said sternly.
Kabuto retorted with a smirk, "Coming from you, that's hardly convincing."
Hashirama Senju, standing nearby, nodded in agreement. "I think this young man has a point. The one who loved researching all sorts of strange forbidden jutsu... wasn't that you, Tobirama?"
"Big Brother! Shut up!"
"Don't interrupt me while I'm reprimanding someone!" Tobirama snapped at his elder brother, clearly annoyed.
Hashirama's face took on a hurt and pitiful expression. "Ah, Tobirama, you're so mean!"
Watching her two lively grandfathers bickering, Tsunade let out a helpless sigh. "Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, now is not the time for this!"
"Ah... You're little Tsuna!"
"You've grown so much!" Hashirama's attention was drawn to Tsunade's voice, his eyes lighting up with surprise and joy.
He stretched out his hands to gesture, reminiscing about how, when he passed away, Tsunade had been just three or four years old, barely reaching his knees.
Moved by this long-lost familial affection, Tsunade's expression softened involuntarily.
Only she knew how tough her childhood had been. Despite being revered as the "Princess of the Leaf," she had lost her parents, and both her grandfathers had passed away in succession when she was just five or six. The Senju Clan was then disbanded.
If it hadn't been for Mito Uzumaki, she truly would have been an orphan.
"Now is not the time for such reminiscing. Why were we summoned with Edo Tensei?" Tobirama, ever rational, brought the conversation back on track.
At this moment, Jiraiya stepped forward. "It's embarrassing to admit, but we've encountered a formidable enemy."
"So we had no choice but to rely on the strength of the previous Hokage."
"Jiraiya, are you the Hokage now?" asked Hiruzen Sarutobi, standing in the third position. He had noticed Jiraiya wearing the Hokage's ceremonial robes.
"Yes, I am the Sixth Hokage," Jiraiya replied.
"Sixth?" Hiruzen was surprised. While it was odd for Jiraiya to take on the role of Hokage, it wasn't entirely unexpected. After Hiruzen's death, the only suitable candidates for Hokage were Jiraiya and Tsunade.
But Tsunade was still alive and well—so how had Jiraiya become the Sixth?
Who was the Fifth Hokage?
"Sixth?" Hashirama also expressed his astonishment.
He turned to Tsunade again. "Little Tsuna, how old are you now?"
"How has the title of Hokage already passed to the Sixth generation?"
"It does seem a bit fast. Iwagakure is only on its Third Tsuchikage," Kabuto interjected from the side.
"What?!"
Hashirama turned to Hiruzen with a puzzled look. "Monkey, I know you died sealing us, that much I understand."
"But who was the Fourth Hokage? And how did they die?"
Minato Namikaze, standing nearby, scratched his head awkwardly. "First Hokage-sama, I was the Fourth Hokage of the Hidden Leaf."
"I died sealing the Nine-Tails."
"The Nine-Tails!"
"That thing can actually kill someone?!" Hashirama exclaimed, as if he had just discovered something extraordinary.
The Nine-Tails' chakra avatar muttered, "Who's underestimating me now?"
Oh, it's Hashirama? Never mind, I didn't hear anything.
"Aha..." Minato laughed nervously, scratching his head even more.
"So, you were the Fifth Hokage? But why do you look as old as Monkey?" Danzo Shimura, who had been trying to stay unnoticed, was finally exposed.
"Danzo! How did you become the Fifth Hokage?!" Hiruzen exclaimed in disbelief. This didn't make sense at all, and an ominous feeling began to creep into his heart.
While Danzo had been arrogant during Hiruzen's reign, Hiruzen had always been aware of his true nature. He had intentionally assigned all the dark and dirty tasks to Danzo to ensure that Danzo would never have the chance to rise further.
After all, no one would accept a Hokage with a tarnished reputation.
"Hmph!"
"Hiruzen, my becoming Hokage was the will of the people. What's with your tone?" Danzo retorted indignantly.
"Danzo, so it was you. How did you die?" Tobirama asked. After all, Danzo had been one of his direct subordinates. The only reason he hadn't recognized him immediately was due to the significant changes in Danzo's appearance.
"I died protecting the Hidden Leaf!" Danzo declared.
Tobirama nodded in approval. "That's more like it. At least you didn't act cowardly like you used to."
But Tsunade wasn't having any of it. "Second Grandpa, stop spouting nonsense."
"If it weren't for him, the Hidden Leaf wouldn't be in the state it's in now."
"What state? What happened to the Hidden Leaf?" Hashirama asked.
Jiraiya answered awkwardly, "The Hidden Leaf now only has the Nara, Akimichi, Yamanaka, and Sarutobi clans left, along with a few civilians. All the others have defected."
"What?!"
"That's no better than a small ninja village!"
"When I was last summoned with Edo Tensei, the Hidden Leaf was still fine," Hashirama said, shocked at the drastic changes that had occurred in such a short time.
"All thanks to that old thief Danzo!" Tsunade yelled again.
Danzo gripped his cane tightly in anger. "What do you know?! Everything I did was for the Hidden Leaf!"
"What exactly happened? Take your time and explain, Tsuna," Tobirama urged.
"This old thief, after becoming the Fifth Hokage, was warmongering and tyrannical. He thought he was always right and started wars everywhere. As a result, the Hidden Leaf grew weaker with every battle. Even the ninja clans and civilians lost faith and eventually defected."
Tsunade recounted Danzo's deeds, including his forced conscription of people into the Root organization, his heavy taxation, and his use of countless lives to create a Tailed Beast army.
"Danzo! Is that how you served as Hokage?" Tobirama's immense aura erupted. As a near-Six Paths-level powerhouse, he unleashed his sharp presence for the first time.
As the weakest Hokage, Danzo was naturally overwhelmed, trembling under the pressure. Gritting his teeth, he responded, "First Hokage-sama, Second Hokage-sama, everything I did was for the Hidden Leaf!"
"It was just unfortunate that I fell short in the end. The Akatsuki were too strong!"
"The worst part is that this old thief used Kotoamatsukami to control me!" Tsunade finally revealed the most humiliating part of the story, her face flushed with anger.
"Kotoamatsukami? What's that?" Hashirama asked curiously.
"It's a genjutsu from the Mangekyō Sharingan that can fundamentally alter someone's thoughts. This old thief used it to control me!"
"You bastard!" Hashirama slapped Danzo across the face, shattering him into pieces with a loud bang.
"How did Danzo even get a Mangekyō Sharingan?" Tobirama asked, noticing the key detail.
Hiruzen answered uncomfortably, "Second Hokage-sama, Danzo took it from Shisui Uchiha."
"Shisui? Wasn't he one of ours?" Minato asked, confused. When he died, the Uchiha Clan had still been intact, so he didn't know what had happened since.
"The Uchiha Clan was suspected of planning a coup and was wiped out," Hiruzen replied.
Tsunade sneered. "Old man, stop trying to cover it up."
"We all know about the dirty deeds you and Danzo did to the Uchiha Clan back then."
The truth had come out long ago, thanks to surviving witnesses like Itachi Uchiha, Koharu Utatane, and Homura Mitokado, who had confessed everything to save their own lives.
"So Danzo took the Mangekyō Sharingan from a comrade in the Hidden Leaf?"
"Danzo, do you have anything to say for yourself?" Tobirama asked coldly.
"First Hokage-sama, Second Hokage-sama! Everything I did was for the Hidden Leaf!"
"Let me seal him permanently!" Tobirama roared in fury.
But Hashirama stood up. "No need. I've already sealed him."
Meanwhile, Kabuto smirked silently.
Danzo, even you have your day.
