Off the coast of the Land of Waves, there was a secret underwater base built by Obito. It housed Kimimaro, Sasuke, and Uzumaki Yusuke, with the intent of drawing out Orochimaru.
Of course, Obito had no idea that Uzumaki Yusuke was, in fact, Orochimaru himself.
Following Orochimaru's directions, Deidara and Jiraiya quickly located this secret base beneath the ocean.
"To think he'd build a secret base in a place like this—truly hidden," Jiraiya remarked.
Although the base wasn't located in the deep sea, even at a depth of over a thousand meters, the water pressure was already immense.
After all, submarines could only operate at such depths at best. Only someone like Obito, with his Kamui, could traverse such places as if they were nothing.
"But how are we supposed to get you all out of there?" Jiraiya asked, glancing at Orochimaru's clone.
Obito had placed the three of them in this base, confident they wouldn't be able to escape. After all, the water pressure outside was no joke.
In response to Jiraiya's question, Orochimaru simply smiled. "Perhaps out of boredom, Uchiha Obito has been keeping a variety of deep-sea fish in this base."
"Over time, I've studied the structure of these deep-sea creatures and modified my own body. I can now operate freely at depths of over a thousand meters."
What the—?!
Deidara was impressed. As expected of Orochimaru!
"Orochimaru, hand me one of your bombs. I'll need it to blow open the base later," Orochimaru said, turning to Deidara.
Deidara handed over a basketball-sized clay bomb without hesitation. "No problem. This bomb will detonate automatically in two hours. That should be enough time, right?"
"More than enough."
With that, Orochimaru's clone swallowed the clay bomb whole and smoothly swam toward the base below.
"Orochimaru! Let me go!"
"Ugh! No! Don't lick me with your tongue! So disgusting!"
"I'm going to be eaten! This is terrifying!"
"Orochimaru, what are you doing?"
Inside the underwater base, Sasuke frowned in irritation, overwhelmed by the incessant noise of countless White Zetsu. Unable to hold back, he confronted Orochimaru, who had been acting strangely today.
Although Orochimaru occasionally captured a couple of White Zetsu for research, his current behavior—openly devouring them one after another—was simply absurd.
"Nothing, Sasuke," Orochimaru replied. "We're about to leave this place, so I'm taking everything of value with me. Otherwise, it'd be a waste."
He first finished devouring all the White Zetsu in the base, then turned his attention to the deep-sea fish. Stretching his neck and opening his mouth wide, he swallowed them whole, nutrient tanks and all.
Finally, he moved on to Obito's stored research materials.
After clearing out everything of value, Orochimaru licked his lips and surveyed the now-empty base with a deep sense of satisfaction.
What a haul!
He then glanced at the clay bomb stuck to the wall, calculating the time remaining.
There were about five minutes left. It was time for the final step.
On the other side of the room, Sasuke felt a chill run down his spine as Orochimaru's gaze landed on him.
"Orochimaru, stop looking at me with that disgusting expression!" Sasuke snapped.
"Heh heh," Orochimaru chuckled softly, his voice dripping with malice. "Sasuke, in a moment, this base will be breached by Deidara's bomb."
"A massive amount of seawater will flood in instantly. At this depth, if you don't want to die, you'd better let me devour you."
This was insane—absolutely insane!
Watching as Kimimaro was the first to be swallowed by Orochimaru, Sasuke couldn't believe his eyes. Despite the horrifying act, Kimimaro's face showed an expression of... enjoyment?
What kind of depravity is this?!
The thought of being next—of being licked all over by Orochimaru's tongue before being swallowed whole—made Sasuke feel like his soul was leaving his body.
For a brief moment, he even considered giving up on his revenge against the Uchiha clan.
"Sasuke," Orochimaru said, licking his lips with a wicked smile. "Even if you choose death, I'll still devour your corpse afterward."
"So, why not obediently surrender yourself to me?"
Let the world burn. That was Sasuke's most genuine thought at this moment.
About two and a half hours later, Deidara saw a sinuous figure emerging from the water below. It was Orochimaru, swaying his tail and hips as he ascended.
"You're finally up. Now let that poor kid Sasuke out," Deidara said, feeling a pang of sympathy.
He's just a child! Why did he have to go through something so horrifying?!
Orochimaru let out a low chuckle before opening his mouth.
"Bleh!"
Sasuke, his eyes lifeless and his spirit seemingly broken, was spat out. His clothes were in disarray, and his body was covered in an unidentifiable slimy substance. He looked as though he had been... thoroughly ravaged over several days.
Deidara shook his head. "Too tragic. This is just too tragic!"
Click! Click!
The sound of a camera snapping photos echoed.
Jiraiya nodded in agreement. "Indeed, it's tragic!"
Rustle! Rustle!
"But his current pose and state have given me so much inspiration. I'm definitely including this in my next book," Jiraiya said, furiously jotting down notes.
"Jiraiya-sama, didn't you say the same thing about the three snake princesses at Ryūchi Cave earlier?"
"How about making them the main characters alongside Sasuke? I'll title it 'The Cold Uchiha Boy and His Three Snake Princess Sisters.' It's bound to be a bestseller!"
"Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!"
"And if we use those photos you just took as the cover, it'll grab everyone's attention," Jiraiya exclaimed, clapping his hands in excitement.
"Hahahahaha!"
"Hahahahaha!"
Meanwhile, Orochimaru's face darkened. Growing impatient, he interrupted their conversation. "Enough. Let's talk about payment for this little endeavor."
Hearing this, Deidara and Jiraiya sobered up.
"Alright, tell us. What do you want us to do?"
Orochimaru's expression turned eager. "This task will benefit you as well."
"I overheard from Obito that an ancient god will soon cross over from another continent with the help of Mōryō."
"My goal is to hunt down this ancient god!"
Obito had been careless, assuming that Sasuke and the others couldn't escape. As a result, he hadn't bothered to hide sensitive information, allowing Orochimaru to learn this critical detail.
"Which ancient god? And are you sure we can handle it?" Deidara asked, curious but cautious.
Although both he and Jiraiya were at the peak of pseudo-Six Paths-level, they were still a step below true Six Paths-level. They couldn't afford to underestimate their opponent.
"Don't worry. Its power is far from its peak," Orochimaru assured them.
"As for its name—Yamata no Orochi!"
