"So does that mean... I entered...the book?!" Eden was speechless as he sat down in jail, staring into thin air.
Did he just transmigrate into the same novel he was flooding with hate comments?
"No, that doesn't make sense.. it doesn't...that doesn't happen. It doesn't make sense..." he was trying to deny the fact.
"You did"
He heard a strange voice beside him as he instantly jolted to his feet and looked to his side.
He saw a cat. His white furred cat sitting at his side.
"Lenny?" Eden Called. It was the name of his cat in the real world.
"Yes. It's me" It said.
Eden blinked " You talked. You can talk? How can you talk?"
"Because I was brought into the novel with you as your guide. That's why I can talk" Lenny said.
Eden blinked "Wait so I'm really in...that novel?"
The cat nodded "Apparently yes"
Eden slowly sat down besides the cat "How the hell is that possible?"
"I don't know. I was sleeping until I found myself here" The Cat explained "But at least I got the needed information as your guide. So I'm not as clueless as you"
"You have the information? So tell me, how do I leave here? Like now" Eden demanded.
"You can't"
Eden blinked "Huh?"
"Only when the Novel ends and you're alive can you get back home apparently" Lenny informed.
"But.. This book is ongoing and it looks like one of those books that will have like two thousand chapters! The author said something like that!" Eden panicked.
"That's the point" Lenny nodded.
Eden gasped. "And... Aren't I the villain? The wizard villain guy? So obviously I won't last till the end. So if I die... Like tomorrow will I get back home??"
"If you die in this book. You'll also die in real life" Lenny replied.
Eden felt his feet go numb. He was speechless "What the hell. How's that... even a thing? I mean the villain is destined to die. The villain dies like, if my calculations are correct, tomorrow"
Lenny nodded "That's the point. So it's up to you to know if you want to die or not"
"Of course not. I don't want to die yet. I am still young and beautiful. I still have a lot to live for. I can't die now..." Eden panicked.
Eden looked around the prison room. The Guards were still keeping guard "I have to live. I must live"
He looked at the cat who was now licking its paws "Isn't there any other way to get out of this book?"
Lenny shocked its head.
"So I have to survive till the end? In a novel I hate? And as a villain that everyone wants to kill?" Eden couldn't believe his luck.
"But don't worry. As you trusted guide, I'm here to help you" Lenny offered.
Eden stared at the cat. He would have to get used to seeing his cat talk. The cat he had picked up like a year ago after his last relationship.
He had taken the cat in as a companion. A companion that would help him get over his last relationship...
"I'm a wizard..." Eden recalled. "The villain in the story is a wizard with great power. Powers that no one in this kingdom has. One that they all feared"
Eden was glad he knew some stuff in the books at least. He had read till the latest update.
He looked at his hands "I can just teleport. Right?"
The cat said nothing but watched Eden try using his "powers"
Eden tried the pattern The wizard used in the book for his tricks.
"Teleport" Eden muttered.
But nothing happened. No magic spark or whatsoever. He was still there.
Eden tried it again and again, but still nothing.
"What the hell is happening?"
"You lost your power" Lenny broke the news to him.
"Huh? Why? How? When? What?" Eden was speechless.
"In the original novel if you recall, When The Great Wizard Of EL was captured and jailed before his public beheading, his powers were temporarily sealed..."
Eden recalled.
In the Novel, The Lead, The Crown Prince, was the one who accomplished the task of capturing this Great Wizard. He was the one that captured him after using some tricks to seal off his powers somehow.
It was never explained in the book how the hell he was able to seal off a Great Wizard's power. I mean, The Kingdom had no powers at all! They were normal humans.
Only this Wizard was the only one with powers. That was why everyone was after his death as ordered by the Emperor. For he was a "bad omen" as described.
So Eden never understood how The Crown prince somehow sealed his powers.
"So my powers are just sealed right? I can still unseal it, right?"
"Well. No. You lost your powers"
"Huh?"
"When you transmigrated into this body, you lost it. Your mortal body couldn't handle the power so it dispersed"
Eden freaked out "How the hell am I supposed to survive in a world that wants me dead without the powers??"
"Well, you can still regain it..."
"How?"
"Well, you'll have to find your power core where it disappeared to. As to where ... It's still uncertain now. But in the future there'll be a clue" The cat shrugged.
"But there won't be any future for me without my powers. I'll be dead before then" Eden could already hear the burial bells ringing for him with no one there to pay their last respect.
"Before then, you'll have to find a way to escape tomorrow's death" Lenny suggested.
"I sure will" Eden thought "And since I don't have any powers to do that, I'll have to find someone who can stop the beheading..."
Eden added "The Crown Prince Elvis"
Lenny stared at him "Or you could just tell me to .."
"I have a better plan" Eden instantly thought "I've seen this in palace intrigue stories"
Eden was thinking now. Thinking of a perfect way to escape death. Specifically using The Crown Prince Elvis.
"Why him?" Lenny asked.
"He's powerful enough to stop my beheading. Besides he's a character I know too well in the book. So at least I sort of know how to talk with him"
"Will he listen to you if you tell him to stop your beheading? He'll rather kill you with his sword on the spot" Lenny said.
"He obviously won't listen to me if I tell him to. So I'll have to force him to stop it. And... He won't kill me himself because he's following his father's instructions for a public beheading. His father chose that to bring his name to the greater glory of capturing me" Eden explained.
He added "So Eden won't want to go against his dad. He is like a servant of his dad. His dad's right hand blade"
"So..." Eden continued "Since I can't meet the king at will, I'll have to use the Crown Prince to stop my beheading. At least for now"
"So how do you plan on doing... that?" Eden asked.
"Manipulating him..." Eden said. It was one thing he was good at during his wild days. He guessed he had no choice but to result in his old tricks.
Since he had no powers, he would have to use his wits.
"I have to do two things" Eden added. His mind is already setting up the plan in motion.
"What?" The cat asked, paying attention.
"First, I'll need to get a poison-like pill. I don't have powers for creating that, so at least I need a pill that works like a poison" Eden said, looking at the cat.
Lenny caught Eden's staring at her "What? Why are you looking at me?"
"Aren't you a system? You should be able to cook up some magical pills or something" Eden suggested.
"No I can't. I'm not really a system but a helper. And I don't have much power to do that because my master, who is you, has lost his powers.So I'm not useful in magic either" Lenny explained.
"What a bummer" Eden sobbed, thinking of another way out.
"I guess I can perhaps go out and look for a pill tonight. Some Royal Physicians could have something like that. A medicine that could tamper with his health that'd make it seem like a magical poison"
Eden smiled "Exactly, That's why I love you. Now off you go"
Lenny nodded and took off. He was small so he sneaked out through the opening. No one would suspect since he was a cat after all. They'd think it was a stray cat.
Eden sighed hopefully as he looked ahead at the guards at the entrance. They still stood there diligently.

Lenny took his time Sneaking around through the Royal Palace. He was a guide so he had a better knowledge of most things. Including places.
He found himself in the Royal Physician's Chamber soon. It was empty so he spent time searching through for some sort of medicine that could do the work.
And soon found one. He took it and made his way out.
Soon, He returned into the jail Eden was, waiting. And handed the pill he managed to steal for him.
"Here"
"I hope it works" Eden said "This will contribute to me surviving in this shitty novel"
He said looking up at the guards "I don't think they'll call the Prince For me if I ask them to" Eden said. "So I guess I'll have to put on a show Instead for them to bring the Crown Prince"
