Eden hesitated and then casually said, "Can I ask you something?"
"What?"
"Do you believe some people can just be good? And help people without any ulterior motive? Do you believe that there are some people who do things out of the genuine act of wanting the good for the other? And some acts are simply done to help others without wanting anything in return?"
Adrian hesitated.
Eden smiled. "Sure. You would find that hard to believe. Perhaps with your environment you wouldn't find it easy to believe." Eden knew for people who grew up in such political stands, it's difficult to believe that one would do good for you without an ulterior motive.
"But..." Eden said, "That's it. And that's why I saved you. Because I want the best for you. Even if I'm the wizard of EL, or king of hades in your eyes, I'm not in my eyes."
