Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: Picking and Choosing — Only the Children Remain

The cursed children in Tokyo were the fastest to gather.

Miori Shiba had been preparing for this day long in advance.

Many of the cursed children had already been informed:

someone would come to take them away.

So when they saw the spaceships suddenly appear in the sky,

the children were overwhelmed with excitement.

At that moment, it felt like they had finally seen the light.

As the ships descended to pick them up,

they followed without hesitation.

Some even crawled out from the sewers—

places where they had been hiding.

Today, they no longer needed to run or hide.

Carrying their hopes for a better life,

they stepped aboard.

takumi's ship also picked up Miori Shiba.

She had already sent him her coordinates via the group chat.

She brought a considerable group:

trusted individuals, their families—

altogether more than ten thousand people.

But it wasn't a problem.

takumi's Star-Destroyer-class vessel was massive.

That many people hardly made a dent.

For a time, the entire world stood still.

Some tried to take advantage of the chaos for their own gain.

But now, no one had the time to worry about anything else.

Take the Tendou family, for example—

they were experiencing a one-sided massacre.

Kisara Tendou had already found Kikunojo Tendou.

Several of her enemies lay dead on the floor.

Despite the bloodshed,

Kisara felt no guilt.

Only the satisfaction of revenge.

Now, only one remained:

the old man in front of her.

She knew what was happening outside.

Miori's "contact" had finally arrived.

She hadn't expected such a bombastic entrance,

nor one so direct.

"Stop this!"

"If you give up now, I can still forgive you!"

Kikunojo Tendou's expression was twisted with rage and fear.

He never thought Kisara would dare do something so bold—

openly slaughter her way into the house.

He had always expected her to return one day,

but not like this.

"Hah\~"

"Forgive me?"

"Why would I need your forgiveness?"

Kisara sneered.

Without another word,

she lunged forward—

and chopped off his hand.

There was no one left alive in the Tendou household.

Only this man remained.

Once he was gone, her revenge would be complete.

She couldn't wait.

No more words.

Only vengeance.

Kisara no longer cared to speak.

All she wanted was to kill the man in front of her.

To avenge her parents.

And now, no one was left to interfere.

The world outside was in chaos.

She smiled coldly,

and without any further delay—

killed Kikunojo Tendou.

The weight that had burdened her heart for so long was gone.

Looking at the robots and ships flying through the sky,

Kisara calmly walked out of the mansion.

She pulled out her phone and messaged Miori Shiba.

Her business was done.

Miori, who had already boarded takumi's ship,

checked her phone and saw Kisara's message.

She turned to takumi quickly.

"takumi, Kisara finished things on her end."

"Can you send a robot to pick her up?"

That girl had avenged her family.

takumi nodded immediately.

He gave a mental command—

ordering the nearest robot and ship to retrieve her.

The robot that had been scanning the city for cursed children

quickly received his command.

Not long after,

a robot arrived before Kisara.

She had just stepped outside the Tendou estate.

"Miss Tendou, this way please."

The robot locked onto Kisara,

stepped forward, and addressed her.

Kisara gave a silent nod.

The robot transformed into a transport unit,

and Kisara stepped onto it.

In the next moment,

it lifted off the ground

and carried her toward the ship in the sky.

As they ascended,

Kisara turned to look back at the city below.

"Goodbye\~\~"

From this moment on,

she had nothing to do with this world.

Turning back,

she looked up at the massive ship in the sky.

She couldn't help but think—

Miori really got lucky

meeting someone like takumi.

Just as she was lost in thought,

she heard someone calling her name.

She paused for a moment.

But quickly shook it off.

Was there anything left in this world she still cared about?

Kisara smiled bitterly at herself.

No. There wasn't.

She dismissed the voice entirely.

The one calling her name

was none other than Rentarou Satomi.

He saw her flying away,

and couldn't believe his eyes.

A terrible sense of dread filled his heart.

That place she exited... it was the Tendou estate, wasn't it?

Realizing this,

Rentarou's face paled.

Seeing she wouldn't respond,

he ran toward the mansion.

The robots continued their mission to find cursed children—

but as long as people didn't provoke them,

they didn't intervene.

Most people realized this.

As more children were taken away,

the robots began retreating from their original locations.

After the initial chaos,

people started calming down.

Without the power to resist,

it was better to comply.

The robots were incredibly intelligent.

If any of the cursed children refused to leave,

they were not forced.

Only those who willingly followed were taken.

Those who wanted to stay—could stay.

takumi didn't insist.

There were many cursed children in the world.

Some would choose to stay behind.

He never forced anyone.

If they wanted to go, he welcomed them.

If not, they were free to remain.

In addition to the children,

some adults were also brought aboard.

Since takumi had hijacked the global network,

the robots used various data and screening tools to select people.

The suitable ones were taken.

The unsuitable ones—absolutely not.

takumi didn't want just anyone on his ship.
