Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: The Recorder of Past

"Eloa!" a guy's voice echoed inside the small hut where a girl with long raven hair and silver eyes was resting peacefully. His voice was laced with panic and worry.

Contrary to that person's panicking voice, the girl in front of him, Eloa, just stared blankly. As if she doesn't care about the reason why this guy was acting like that.

Unlike her, the guy has golden hair and bright blue eyes. But despite that, their face structures look completely alike, and no one could deny that they are twins.

"Hey! This is important, I swear," he said, but his twin didn't even care about it and continued her rest. "Wait! Wait! Don't sleep again. Can you listen to me just for once, will you? "

He then let out a sigh of frustration before speaking, "Someone is trying to change what is already recorded." He paused to observe his twin's reaction. And the shock expression in his twin's eyes didn't disappoint him.

All laziness in Eloa's body vanished when she heard what her twin mentioned. Countless scenarios began to form in her mind, and she ran towards the golden book.

"You're kidding, right? You know it's impossible to change the destiny that was already written!"

The guy let out a frustrated sigh. "How I wish I was, but I'm not going to joke around about this important matter."

Eloa couldn't help but feel annoyance. After she was born a few millenniums ago, she was tasked to guard the records of the past. And no one, even a deity, could change what was recorded in the Akashic records. That is why she was doubting her twin's words, but she knew that he wouldn't lie regarding this matter.

"What planet is it, Avenir? And what year did the beginning of change occur?" he asked his twin.

"Terre of Galactic River, from the 16th Dimension, Year 6208," he mumbled while his blue eyes were shining.

After that, Eloa's eyes shone, and she muttered the exact words that Avenir spoke. In an instant, countless words appeared on the blank sheet of the book, and the letters are colored red. The color red symbolizes a change in her records of the past.

"How is this possible..." Eloa could only stare at those words before it was forcefully changed into an event that wasn't supposed to happen.

"I've noticed this when that planet has a sudden turn of its destiny. It was supposed to be destroyed, and the last being in that world will ascend as a god," Avenir explained, and Eloa immediately believed it. This is because Avenir is the guardian of Fate, and it is his duty to prevent changes in what's already written in the book of fate.

If she was the guardian of the past, then her twin is the guardian of the future. He must ensure the future will follow from what was fated, while she must ensure that the records will remain unchangeable, or else a devastating butterfly effect would devour everything in that dimension.

"But changing the Akashic records is impossible, you know that, Avenir..." she stated. "Unless a god stronger than Time appeared."

Time is the strongest god, the only child of the Past and Future. And right now, to prevent the corruption of Chaos, the Past and Future sealed themselves in the Akashic Records and the Wheel of Fate.

"I know that, too. That's why I couldn't help but feel anxious about what's about to happen in the cosmos. Something will happen that we can't control, and it will cause nothing but devastation. With many reconstructions and destructions of worlds, countless gods appeared, and there is a chance that a god stronger than Time would appear," Avenir stated.

A long silence enveloped the two of them. Then, with a reckless thought, Eloa declared, "I'll take care of it," before vanishing with the book.

"...Veyron, wake up!"

He quickly sprang up upon hearing that familiar voice. And the first thing that met his eyes was none other than his younger sibling.

"Vriana?" he mumbled, unable to believe what was happening to him.

Didn't the world already end, and he saw how his little sister was torn into pieces by countless monsters? So how is it possible that she's here? Or is this heaven? Is he really dead?

Then wandered off his gaze. This place is none other than his old room in the past.

In just a blink, his head throbbed and memories resurfaced in his mind. He could faintly remember how he wished to the wishing runestone to revive the important people in his life.

And it looks like it came true. Vriana is alive. And he is hoping that his mother, father, and everyone else that he treasures are all alive.

As if on cue, his mother and father came inside, and this time, he couldn't hold on to his tears. After ten years, ten whole years of fighting against the Lord of the Abyss, and now, he's here, back in his family's embrace.

"What happened, baby? Why are you crying?" His mother comforted him. Oh, he misses being treated like a child.

In a normal situation, he would've stated, 'Stop calling me baby; I'm no longer a child.' Hell, he survived the hellish days of the apocalypse, and if his comrades would hear his mother calling him 'baby,' he'll wish that the ground would swallow him.

"Have you gone mad, Veyron?" his sister teased him. If it was a natural situation, he would've teased her back, but all he could do was to mess her silver hair, making her pout.

"Hey! Stop ruining my hair! Sister Haina spent hours styling it!" she roared at him but didn't put effort into removing his hands.

His sister, really. Acting tsundere all of the time. If he really didn't know what sacrifices his sister made, then he would've believed that she hated him all throughout his life.

"Mother, Father, Vriana, I'm sorry..." he mumbled. "I failed to protect you..."

"What are you saying, Veyron? There is no need to protect us. With your limpy arm, I bet you won't be able to swing a sword," his sister joked. "All you know is drinking and wasting money," she stated before rolling her eyes. She also removed his hand in her head.

"Huh, did you know what? I defeated the lord of the abyss," he boasted to his little sister and showed her the "muscles" that he gained throughout years of fighting. But contrary to his expectations, all he could see was a thin arm that resembled a twig that was wrapped with a soft and dainty skin, without any trace of muscle or scars from the training and war.

He was dumbfounded. What happened to his body?! To his muscles? Then he stared at his body and was shocked to the core and was disappointed as hell when he saw nothing but fat. His eight-pack abs that he worked hard acquiring were gone. His pride was gone!

"You're really out of your mind, Veyron. What lord of the abyss? Are you still dreaming?"

"It's the lord of the monsters that devastated our world! And the lord of the monsters that... killed... you...." His voice grew fainter and fainter.

"Are you wishing for my death, lazy big brother?"

"Baby, I think you're still dreaming. Is it the side effects of what happened yesterday?" her mother stated while having a deep thought.

"Didn't I tell you to stop drinking, but you never listened? Now look at you, acting like a deranged person." His father's strict voice reverberated in his room.

He couldn't say anything. What the hell is happening?

"T-then, what happened yesterday?"

"You bumped your head on the way home; that's why you've become crazier," her sister answered him, but he chose to ignore the last part.

Huh?? Isn't that what happened 15 years ago? Is it the reason why he started training his body after he lost in a fight? Though he never took that training seriously since he always believed that the knights in their family would keep him safe.

Although despite being a noble, he couldn't use his status because he'll never let his family know about his habit. There's no way, or else all the privilege that he was enjoying would vanish. Or so he thought in the past. But now, it would be different. Now he had a reason to become stronger than ever.

"Then, what y-year is it today?" He had a hunch, but he needs confirmation to be able to grasp the situation.

"It's the year 6208."
