Chapter 133 - Team Assemble

"Rhonin!" Vareesa had just stepped out of the void gate when she spotted the person she had been longing for in the crowd.

"Vareesa, what are you doing here!" Rhonin looked at the beautiful figure in front of him with surprise and hurried forward. They had been apart for several months. The last time they came to Northrend together to seek the essence of life, Vareesa's attitude had been lukewarm, which made him feel very uncomfortable. But after the fierce battle on the Endless Sea and the journey on the deserted island, he knew that he could no longer let her go.

"Rhonin." Vareesa rushed into his arms, burying her head deeply in his broad chest. The family's opposition and the incomprehension of others no longer mattered. She decided to bravely pursue her own happiness.

"I... I miss you so much."

"Me too." Rhonin replied softly, his heart filled with joy and happiness, feeling that even death at this moment would be worth it. He whispered in her ear, "Let's not separate again, Alright? Vareesa, I can no longer ignore the intense feelings in my heart. I love you!"

"Mm." Vareesa's beautiful silver eyes were filled with tears. These were the most beautiful words she had ever heard in her life.

As the two kissed passionately, a round of applause rang out beside them.

Aiden applauded and sighed, "I'm so envious!"

Garen felt the same way: "Me too."

Lux held her heart, enraptured: "So touching!"

She looked at the others. Ashe was relatively calm—she was a veteran, and Tryndamere was her fiancé; Sion? The undead don't need emotions; Vayne? She probably doesn't need a man; as for Miss Fortune, she is definitely a love expert, and these are just small potatoes.

'I wonder when I will find my own love?' she thought.

Aiden turned to Kassadin and asked, "Tell me, what have you been up to these days?"

Kassadin briefly explained and then extracted Frostmourne from the void.

Aiden looked at the magic sword, his heart surging.

Frostmourne—how many people crave the power of this sword?

Arthas in the original timeline, and Liam in this timeline, both princes pursued its power. If it weren't for Kassadin and Vareesa's intervention, Liam would have definitely followed in Arthas's footsteps.

Aiden sincerely hoped that he would complete his self-redemption.

Frostmourne is not the most powerful weapon in the Warcraft world, but it is definitely the most well-known.

Which Warcraft player doesn't want to defeat the Lich King and then obtain it? Even if there is only a one in a billion chance of dropping, it is estimated that some people would push the Lich King every day.

Now the sword was right in front of him, the blue inscriptions on the blade emitting an eerie light.

He didn't recognize the inscriptions of these Nathrezim demons, but he still knew what they meant:

"From this blade, power flows. And despair."

Whoever takes it will gain the power of the Lich King, and will also be controlled by the Lich King, for him to drive.

Those who pursue power too much will eventually become slaves to power.

This was a warning, and Aiden's heart was filled with awe.

"Well done!" he exclaimed. Although Kassadin had taken matters into his own hands and violated his original plan, the result was much better than he had expected. This was really a way to fundamentally solve the Lich King's seduction/inducement of the ignorant.

Aiden took out a conversion stone and used it on it. He didn't intend to leave this cursed magic sword behind. Who knew what might go wrong? It's better to make the best use of it and summon Valoran's heroes to help him fight the evil Lich King!

But when he put the conversion stone on it, it didn't work.

"What's going on?" Aiden was puzzled. The conversion of Gul'dan's Skull and Medivh's Book had gone very smoothly before. Why did the conversion of Frostmourne fail?

Kassadin said, "This is something that has an owner."

After his explanation, Aiden understood that the conversion stone could only be used on things that did not have their own will, were not controlled by others, or were completely irresistible. Like Gul'dan's Skull, although it contained Gul'dan's will, Gul'dan himself was already dead. It could only be regarded as an item inhabited by an evil spirit, not something that had an owner.

Obviously, the owner of Frostmourne was still there and had not lost control of the magic sword.

"Then destroy it!" Aiden decided immediately.

There were three weapons here that possessed the power to destroy Frostmourne—the angel sisters' Judgment of the Meek and Argent Judgment, and Mograine's Ashbringer.

Especially the latter, which historically severed Frostmourne.

"Mograine, it's up to you!" He signaled the paladin.

Kassadin said, "Commander, severing this sword will leak some information to the Lich King. Are you sure you want to do this?"

Mograine stepped forward, his Ashbringer shining, waiting for Aiden's decision.

Aiden considered and asked, "Kassadin, you said you had a way when you first came—what is it?"

Kassadin said, "We don't have to attack through the main entrance. Before coming here, I investigated the magic barrier surrounding Icecrown Citadel. With my current abilities, I can open a portal that leads directly to the upper levels of the fortress."

This was undoubtedly good news. Aiden had originally reserved a large number of energy points and even prepared to summon thousands of soldiers from the various tribes of Freljord to attack Icecrown Citadel, pushing forward layer by layer like clearing a dungeon in a game. But now, he could directly bypass the bottom and middle layers and start from the upper spire. The difficulty of the attack was reduced by at least half.

Aiden asked, "Will the Lich King immediately notice when we enter the upper spire through the void gate?"

"My magic can temporarily shield his perception, but if the number of entrants is large, he will immediately notice," Kassadin replied.

Aiden thought for a while and said, "In this case, Kassadin, send Sion to the upper spire and have him investigate the internal situation to see if it is possible to directly reach the Frozen Throne. Then we will decide what to do based on the situation!"

"As you command, Commander." Kassadin created a void gate in front of him and took Sion across. The void gate then disappeared.

"This ability is really dashing," Aiden exclaimed. "Go wherever you want" This line should be changed from Mundo to Kassadin.

"Someone's coming," Kayle suddenly stood up.

"Prepare for battle!" Aiden shouted immediately. He unconditionally trusted the angel's words.

Just as everyone formed a formation and drew their weapons, Kayle made another gesture: "It's Alright, it's not an enemy."

"Who is it then?" Mograine asked.

"Signal detected... Identity confirmed... Karthus..." The robot Blitzcrank answered his question.

The mechanical voice had just finished when the Deathsinger entered the tunnel where they were hiding from the ground.

"It seems I've arrived just in time," the lich chuckled.

Kayle stared at him, frowning slightly. She hadn't seen him for more than two months, and the lich's strength had recovered rapidly, already surpassing her current strength. She was no longer the most powerful hero under Aiden, a fact that she found somewhat difficult to accept. She was originally a true god, while this lich was only a demigod.

'Should I accept that power?' A thought suddenly popped into her head. As the master of holy power, she quickly discovered, after coming to this new world, that there was a pure Light being in this universe that provided Light power to their servants. These people became paladins and priests.

She had come into contact with these Light beings called "Naaru", and they were willing to make a contract with her and provide her with power. But Kayle did not accept.

Just as she did not allow the angels to collect the power of faith, Kayle did not trust external forces either. So she rejected the contract.

But now Karthus's strength made her want to try to accept it. If she waited for natural recovery, it might take her ten thousand years to return to her peak.

'It's not time yet.' Kayle looked at the group of heroes beside Aiden. Each of them had their own strengths. She didn't need to use the power of the Naaru to defeat the enemy now. She just needed to protect Aiden's life.

Karthus recounted his experiences in the Tomb of Sargeras and took out the artifact Eye of Sargeras and the only remaining Heart of Sargeras from the sarcophagus.

Aiden picked up the Eye of Sargeras, the gem-shaped artifact. In the original timeline, after Illidan obtained it, he cast a spell in the ruins of Dalaran that shattered the Frozen Throne of Northrend, thousands of miles away. If it hadn't been for Malfurion's intervention, Ner'zhul would have most likely died in that catastrophe.

"Should we use this method too?" Aiden had this thought. But after thinking about it, the power of the Eye of Sargeras was too strong. If it wasn't stopped, the entire Northrend might sink in a violent earthquake. At that time, it wouldn't just be the Lich King who would suffer, but all life in Northrend, and it could even trigger a tsunami that would affect the entire world.

He quickly dismissed the idea. And the power of this Heart of Sargeras was too strange, so he decided to take it back for the scientists to study. Perhaps they could discover some secrets from it.

The void gate opened again, and the two who had infiltrated Icecrown Citadel appeared before them.

Sion said, "We've scouted it out. There aren't many troops inside. There are about three thousand undead troops in the upper levels of the spire, and their strength is decent."

Kassadin said, "The teleportation array leading to the top floor is guarded by the power of a group of frost dragons. We need to defeat them to unlock the teleportation array."

Aiden asked, "What kind of monsters are inside?"

"Human undead, dwarf undead, troll undead, crypt fiends, abominations, gargoyles, ghosts, frost dragons."

"Are there any particularly powerful beings?"

Sion replied, "No."

At this point in time, the Lich King was still Ner'zhul, the Vrykul hadn't awakened, and the high elf kingdom hadn't been destroyed. Most of the future bosses in Icecrown Citadel, the Scourge heroes, hadn't appeared yet. Aiden was immediately relieved. This greatly reduced the difficulty of breaking in.

"In that case, let's just attack head-on!" Aiden made a decision, then gestured to Mograine, "Destroy it, Mograine!"

Karthus asked, "Why not transform it?"

"It has an owner," Kassadin explained.

"Then let it lose its owner." Karthus stopped Mograine's action. He took the sword in front of him, "I have a way."

His staff emitted a pale wave of annihilation energy, constantly injecting it into Frostmourne. At the same time, on the Frozen Throne, Ner'zhul's soul fluctuated violently.

"Who is it, destroying Frostmourne! Who is it, erasing my mental imprint? Who is it, ruining my plan!"

The Lich King was furious. Since being thrown into this world by Kil'jaeden, he had never encountered such a thing. But in the past month or so, things had been going wrong.

Ner'zhul's soul was solidified in eternal ice. Although he had lost his body, his mental power had expanded countless times. He had reached a height he had never reached in his life. His will could influence others across thousands of miles, and he could also penetrate the void and explore the mysterious river of time.

Relying on his glimpse into the future, his grand plan was being realized step by step. Before long, he would be able to escape the cage that Kil'jaeden had imprisoned him in and gain a real body and freedom!

However, more than forty days ago, he discovered that he could no longer see the future from the river of time; then, Naxxramas, which was strictly executing his plan, was discovered by humans. His plan had been repeatedly hindered, but that was not important. As long as the carrier that could bear his power accepted the guidance and came to the Frozen Throne to unseal him, everything would return to the track he had set.

But a few days ago, the carrier he had chosen also lost contact. He no longer accepted his summons, and Ner'zhul couldn't even find his trace!

This made him extremely anxious. He felt like a blind man, and things were getting out of his control.

He couldn't help but think—could there be worse things to come?

Now, it had come true.

He was losing Frostmourne, the most critical artifact in his resurrection plan!

"Alright, it's done. Now it's unowned!" Karthus retracted his staff. The originally glowing runes on Frostmourne's blade had now completely lost their luster. Aiden felt that the sword had lost not only its original shining light, but something deeper—spirituality. Yes, it had lost its spirituality. It was as if a person's eyes had lost their brilliance, becoming empty and numb.

Now it could finally be transformed, but Aiden felt a little reluctant in his heart. He had a strong urge to collect it. Even if he didn't use it, it would be nice to look at it from time to time!

He entered the Heart of Valoran and began to summon:

This dark artifact could naturally only summon dark heroes.

Images of a group of Void creatures appeared in his mind: Cho'Gath, Kha'Zix, Kog'Maw, all of these became available to summon. In addition, there was also the Evil Little Master Veigar, the Vengeance Spear Kalista, the Soul Shackler Thresh, and the Metal Master Mordekaiser, and so on.

Aiden thought for a while and decided to summon Thresh—the background said that he was a soul harvester, perhaps he would be useful against the Lich King.

After completing the summon, the remaining energy was enough to summon another hero. Except for the image of the Vengeance Spear disappearing due to insufficient energy, the remaining few were still sufficient.

Aiden didn't think much about it and decided on the Evil Little Master Veigar. He wondered what his ultimate move "Energy Burst" in the game would be like in reality? If he could blow up the Frozen Throne in one go, they would save a lot of trouble.

He thought so.

The situation inside had been scouted, and the tactics had naturally been determined. He began to use energy points to summon, and the targets had also been determined:

Ice Witch—Lissandra;

Rage of the Freljord—Sejuani;

Thunder's Roar—Volibear;

One thousand of the most elite Frost Archers of the Avarosan tribe, one thousand of Sejuani's Winter's Claw tribe's boar riders, and one hundred Frostguard Clan's mages.

The heroes and warriors walked out of the summoning array one after another. Soon, the ancient hall of this underground passage was filled, and the remaining people extended into the alleyway.

The summoning had been completed, and Aiden Wei was about to leave this space when he suddenly heard Zilean's voice in his ear:

"Be careful of Nozdormu!"

"What?" Aiden looked around, but didn't find Zilean's figure. Usually when he appeared, it was accompanied by an image. This should be an illusion, right?

Zilean's voice didn't appear again. Aiden shook his head, exited the summoning space, and returned to reality.

Frostmourne had completely disappeared, not even a bit of dust was left. He was a little disappointed. It would be nice if he had left a husk like the last time he used the Book of Medivh...

The originally empty hall was full of people, and he felt quite a sense of accomplishment. These would be the key to eliminating the Lich King!

But—it seemed that there was something wrong between Karthus and Thresh?

He ignored these two guys who were studying soul power. The newly summoned other heroes were by his side.

Summoning the Ice Witch Lissandra consumed a lot of energy, even more than summoning the War Shadow Hecarim at the beginning. She had lived for thousands of years, and as a powerful demigod, she possessed endless power in the ice and snow. Aiden hoped that she could shine in the battle against the Lich King.

Thunder's Roar Volibear is the leader of the Ursine, an armored bear with the power of storms, and an ally of Sejuani. It could be seen from their attitude that they were obviously closer to each other than to others.

However, Volibear seemed to have a feud with Zilean. Aiden couldn't help but think, how would Zilean view this summoning?

Hopefully he won't be angry.

After Aiden greeted these heroes one by one, he summoned a large amount of food. After eating their fill, their battle was about to begin!

The spider man Kirix crawled up to him and said reverently, "Aiden, I'm very sorry for my previous doubts."

"No need to apologize, we are comrades now," Aiden said with a smile.

"Yes, comrades... I am now full of confidence in defeating the Lich King. You will be the eternal friend of our Nerubians!" Kirix said solemnly.

"I am honored to have your friendship. The Valoran Federation will be too!" Aiden responded seriously.

When everything was ready, a clearing was cleared in the middle of the hall, Kassadin drew energy from the void, and opened a wide void gate in front of them.

"I will lead the charge!" At this time, Galen shouted his slogan, clenched his sword, and was the first to rush into the void gate.

"Wait for me, bro!" Lux stomped her feet and followed in.

Then everyone filed in, no one was afraid, and no one flinched.

Aiden clenched the Staff of Time and the Silver Judgment, and stepped into the void gate after Volibear, with Kayle following closely behind.

It began! Their final battle with the Lich King!
