"You're not going," I snapped, slamming my fist on the marble counter so hard the sound echoed through the room.
"It's too dangerous, Aria. You're pregnant, for God's sake. Do you even understand what that means? If anything happens to you—or the baby—I'll never forgive myself.
You're not invincible, no matter how brave you act. This isn't some impulsive stunt. This is life and death, and I won't risk either of yours."
She flinched, the force of my words cutting deeper than I intended, but her voice didn't waver.
Her eyes, glassy with unshed tears, locked onto mine with unshakable resolve.
"And Lila's my sister, Damon. I'm going whether you like it or not. You can't stop me. Don't even try."
The room was heavy with tension. Rain lashed against the floor-to-ceiling windows of the penthouse, lightning cracking in the distance like a threat made flesh.
