Chapter 2 - Learning about my Spiritual Root

When the line was finally over we were called next. "name please", "Wu Zhi", "Reason for visit", "To get my spiritual root examined." "Mhm, wait over there."

After that we visited the doctor did some tests and got the results back.

"Congratulations it looks like you have a dual specialization" the doctor said. 'Sweet' Wu Zhi thought, he hoped he had something special about his spiritual root. "and that's not all" the doctor said "he also has a rarely seen element in his spirit root... Blood. He also has a talent score of 68/100 putting him above average on the scale and his specializations are in dual cultivation and meditation. This 100% makes him eligible to be accepted into a sect"

"What do you think son, do you want to go to a sect". "Yes dad I think a sect would be great", 'In all honesty Wu Zhi was really happy, it wasn't the best results in the world but it was pretty good, looking at the reactions from the doctor and his dad, these results were pretty rare. He had no idea how good or how rare a dual specialization was, but a blood element sounded pretty cool and he doubted many people had it.'

"Great there is only one sect I can recommend you to which is flying wind sect. It is the only sect in this area, and it specializes in wind and movement techniques" said the doctor. "Sounds good" Wu Zhi replied. "Alright then I will send them a letter of recommendation if you give me your address. If they feel like you are a fit for their sect they will send someone to get you."

After that they paid for their visit and left on the way back. "Blood is a rare element, its a fusion of metal and water, a pretty rare mutation. It seems like it comes from your mother, she never got tested because she had some health complications that prevented her from cultivating so we thought it a waste of money to get her tested. Perhaps she had a specialization in dual cultivation as well" Wu Hao said. "So does that mean my spiritual roots characteristics come from you and mom". Wu Zhi said. "Absolutely, where else would it come from". Wu Hao said "I don't know I though the heavens would decide stuff like that". "Well that is the case sometimes most if not everyone gets there characteristics from their parents, in rare cases they could get talent or elements from treasures, the heavens, or bestowed by an immortal. As for specializations in extreme cases of training or some rare opportunities they can be changed as well. However the general rule is you get what you get from your parents and its very hard to change that. That is why most high level cultivators come from clans and why its so rare to find a talent among the common population". 'It seems this was not as simple as he thought, he kept getting more and more memories of his previous life the older he got, and the more wisdom he gained, he realized his dad sure knew a lot about cultivation for someone who doesn't practice it, his mom also seemed to be a bit special as well. Maybe his background had more to it than what was shown on the surface.'

when they returned home he gave his mother the good news. It seemed if he was lucky he would turn out to become a cultivator very soon. They held a small celebration and told him if he got accepted into the sect to be well behaved and to work hard. "I promise I'll do my best and strive for success" he said. they applauded and were happy for him.

One day about 4-5 days later the cultivators showed up and asked if he was Wu Zhi and then took him away on their flying disks. "I promise I'll come home one day and send letters" he said. "good son, we will always be here for you, make sure to send some gifts here and there we will be waiting for your return". And so he left for the flying wind sect, they had to make a few extra stops to pick up some more kids, 'it seems they do this in batches instead of picking up people one by one when someone shows some talent'. When they picked up everyone they headed for the mountain next to Rivendale city it turns out the sect was located on top of the mountain. 'It makes sense he thought better to be next to the city to have easy access to people and resources then to be in the middle of nowhere hiding from nobody'. However he severely underestimated the size of the sect. It was HUGE it covered the whole mountain top and this was no small mountain it was a the very least twice if not thrice as big as the city, almost as if the city existed to support the sect and not the other way around. It was also very beautiful with pagodas and bridges all over the mountain, the whole sect existed at different elevations making a look like transportation was a chore, but it also made it scenic and unique, all in all it was like a world in and of its own, majestic.

After they landed in what looked like a landing pad. The cultivators then had the kids separate into groups given to a specific person and then brought on a small tour.
