Chapter 3 - all right here's what's coming next, outline

Once upon a time, in a magical underwater kingdom, there lived a lovely mermaid named Ariel. Unlike other mermaids, Ariel had an unusual gift; she had human feet! This special gift allowed her to walk on land, but there was one tiny problem—Ariel couldn't see very well. Her vision was blurry, especially in the bright sunlight.

In her quest for clarity, Ariel turned to her loving father, King Triton. But in this story, King Triton was not the majestic merman from old tales. Instead, he was reimagined as three kind-hearted fairy godmothers named Florabelle, Fauna, and Merryweather. They were a little clueless about the human world but were filled with love for their daughter.

One sunny morning, Ariel was sitting on a rock, gazing at the horizon, feeling the warm rays of sun on her face. "Oh, how I wish I could see everything clearly! " she sighed. Just then, the three fairy godmothers fluttered down from the clouds, their wings sparkling like tiny diamonds.

"Ariel, dear," Florabelle said with a soft giggle, "we heard your wish! It's time to fix those eyes of yours. " Fauna nodded, her eyes wide with excitement. "Yes! We have a plan! "

"A plan? " Ariel asked, intrigued yet cautious. "What do you have in mind? "

"Well, it's simple! " Merryweather said, fluttering her wings. "We'll help you navigate the Human Bureau of Vision Correction! It's where you can get your eyesight fixed. "

Ariel raised an eyebrow. "Bureau of Vision Correction? Sounds serious. Can we just find a doctor? "

"Doctor? " Florabelle repeated, scratching her head. "Oh, we thought this was a bureaucratic problem! You know, with forms and stamps! "

Fauna clapped her hands. "We have to make it official! There could be… um… paperwork? "

And so, the fairy godmothers began to prepare for the journey. They gathered their wands, sprinkled some glittery dust, and transformed themselves from fairy godmothers into what they imagined King Triton would look like—strong, but with all the charming quirks that made them, well, them. Each wore a flowing robe and a crown that sat a little crooked.

They all stood in front of Ariel, trying to look regal. "Let's make you our mission! " they declared in unison.

Ariel giggled. "Alright! Let's go, my fairy … um, fathers! "

With a flick of their wands, they transported themselves to the human world. They landed in a bustling city filled with tall buildings, bright lights, and lots of unfamiliar noises. Ariel looked around in awe, her feet feeling the cool pavement beneath her.

"Where do we find this Bureau of Vision Correction? " Ariel asked, squinting at the buildings.

Fauna pulled out a crumpled map. "Um, I think it's… this way! " she said, pointing in the wrong direction.

"Let's just ask someone," Ariel suggested, which made the fairy godmothers nervous. They had read that people in the human world could be quite different and they weren't sure how to approach anyone.

But Ariel bravely waved down a passerby. "Excuse me, could you help us? " she asked, a big smile on her face.

The stranger eyed them curiously. "You three look a bit lost. Are you looking for something? "

"Yes! " Florabelle said, flapping her arms. "We need to find the Bureau of Vision Correction! "

The person laughed lightly. "Oh, it's just two blocks down that way. Can't miss it. "

"Thank you! " Ariel chirped as the group hurried in the direction indicated.

As they arrived at the Bureau, it looked more like an office than Ariel had imagined. The building was gray and a little dull, with a long line of people waiting outside. Ariel's heart dropped a little.

"Oh dear," she whispered. "Is this normal? "

Merryweather shrugged. "I suppose! Just stick with us! "

When they stepped inside, the space was crowded with people, all looking frustrated and bored. At the front desk sat a serious-looking clerk typing away. The fairy godmothers approached her, trying their best to appear majestic.

"Excuse us! " Florabelle said, but her voice was too high and squeaky.

"Can we have your attention? " Merryweather chimed in, but it blended in with the chatter.

The clerk finally looked up, arching an eyebrow. "Yes? How can I help you? "

Ariel stepped forward. "I need my eyesight fixed. I have a form…" She handed over a piece of paper that the godmothers had scribbled on earlier. They had meant well, of course, but the form just said "Ariel wants to see better" in big letters.

The clerk's eyes widened in confusion. "Is this a joke? You can't submit this. "

Florabelle gasped ever so dramatically. "But we really need it! It's so important! "

Realizing the situation was slipping out of control, Fauna offered, "Perhaps we should just explain ourselves? It is a bureaucracy after all! "

With a little more patience than before, the clerk raised her hands. "Alright, let's start fresh. What exactly do you need? "

Ariel began to explain her blurry vision, her fascination with the beauty around her, and her secret life as a mermaid who loved the human world. The godmothers nodded in side agreement, occasionally whispering supportive words like "Good job! " and "You can do it! "

After some entertaining back-and-forth, the clerk began to understand. "Okay, here's the deal. Your needs require special attention. We need to schedule an eye examination and fill out an official application. "

Merryweather puffed out her chest. "That's a start! Where do I sign up? "

The process was long and complicated, involving many forms, silly questions, and even an unexpected dance-off, which the fairy godmothers insisted on doing to lighten the mood. Finally, after what felt like hours, Ariel walked out with an appointment slip.

"We did it! " Ariel cheered, hugging her godmothers. "Thank you! "

With a grin, Florabelle said, "This was more fun than we thought! But I think we prefer swimming. "

As they returned to the ocean, Ariel thought about the lesson she had learned—sometimes, attention to detail matters, but it's the love and laughter shared along the way that truly counts. And with her three fantastic fairy godmothers by her side, she felt confident her dream of clear vision would soon be a reality.

Tales of Ariel's adventure spread through the underwater kingdom, and the fairy godmothers realized that even in chaos, they made a great team. After all, the path wasn't just about fixing Ariel's sight, but also about seeing the magic in each other. And in the heart of the ocean, that was the vision they cherished most.
