Naruto blinked in disbelief, unwilling to accept this was his Sasuke. He dashed forward, drawing a shuriken from his pouch. Sasuke effortlessly sidestepped and flung a kunai back!
Naruto barely dodged behind a rock, but two kunai flew in rapid succession. The second kunai collided with the first, altering its trajectory and striking Naruto! Yet… it hit only a clone. Naruto emerged from behind the rock, only to be bound to the stone by a shuriken tether.
Through gritted teeth, Naruto growled, "Sasuke… you're serious, aren't you?"
High above, Sasuke Uchiha looked down, spitting out fresh blood. "I told you, I won't share the future with you." He formed hand seals: "Fire Style: Dragon Flame Technique!"
A massive blaze roared along the wires of the chained shuriken toward Naruto. Sasuke watched his handiwork in silence until Naruto burst through the flames with a right hook that smacked Sasuke's cheek. "You bastard!"
Sasuke barely flinched… then turned to Naruto. "You piece of…" ,he took a left hook. Naruto's fists flew until his hands bled, and Sasuke finally spoke again: "Is that all? If so… I don't need the Sharingan." He wiped blood from his lip. "What?" Naruto gasped.
"You didn't notice, did you? I haven't used my Sharingan once." Sasuke's face twisted with confident challenge. He caught Naruto's next punch with one hand. "Don't underestimate me!"
To Sasuke, Naruto had almost no chance. "Not strong enough… nor driven enough," he declared, eyes alight. It wasn't clear if he meant Naruto or himself Itachi's words echoed in his mind: "You are too weak!" "If you play the comradeship game with them…"
Sasuke threw Naruto across the ground and charged. Naruto was stunned but Sasuke jumped in midair, delivering a twin lightning kick that buried Naruto in a crater. Landing gracefully, Sasuke mocked: "You can never attain this power." He tossed Naruto's pouch back at him. "To surpass him… I need power and hatred!" He glared at the sky.
Naruto crawled out of the crater. "You're the one who's clear-eyed now, right? That day on the balcony… you hesitated, but this time…" Naruto's resolve blazed. "I'll show you the real power of the Sharingan!"
Two magatama appeared in Sasuke's eyes, blood-red and haunting.

He squeezed Naruto's hand, then unleashed: "Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!" A titanic sphere incinerated everything in its path, leaving only charred branches.
"Is this really your strength?" Sasuke mocked. "This meager resolve, yet you still preach about your ninja way?"
Naruto wiped blood from his lip, revealing steely determination. "You think I'm playing a comradeship game with you? Then you're the real…" Naruto's words trailed off, eyes burning. "Hopeless fool!"
