Chapter 3 - Having Backers

Two weeks after the awakening ceremony, people from Spirit Hall finally arrived to escort Leng Chen and his three companions to Spirit City.

There were only two of them—but these two stood at the pinnacle of the Spirit Master world: Ghost Douluo and Chrysanthemum Douluo.

Village Chief Jerry didn't say much. He simply patted each of them on the head and said warmly, "Come back from time to time, okay?"

The girls were on the verge of tears. And just like that, they left the village behind.

Inside the Carriage

As they traveled, Leng Chen sat across from Yue Guan and shared the truth about Cherry's parents' accident. He calmly explained his plan for the corrupt nobles responsible.

Even Yue Guan was taken aback by how detailed and calculated the boy's plan was. But after a moment of thought, he smiled and promised his support.

At the next stop, Yue Guan gave orders to Spirit Hall personnel to begin investigating and quietly dealing with the corrupted. Then, the journey resumed.

Spirit City

"Brother Chen… Spirit City is so beautiful," Yulai whispered in awe.

"I know," Leng Chen said softly, his eyes glued to the scenery outside.

He didn't know what to say. Only by seeing it with your own eyes could you truly understand. The city's grandeur, elegance, and sheer brilliance—'If this existed on Earth, it'd be one of the eight wonders.'

But what brought him the most joy was seeing the girls' faces light up, their sadness over leaving the village temporarily forgotten.

Too bright… he thought, watching their eyes sparkle. This is the power of legendary cuteness in full transformation.

The Pope's Hall

At the peak of Spirit City stood the majestic Pope's Hall.

There, on a throne elevated above all others, sat Pope Qian Xunji—a Level 95 Title Douluo, the father of the one destined to become Spirit Hall's god: Qian Renxue.

He looked down at the children with a kind, reassuring smile.

"Hey, little ones," he said, voice gentle. "Don't be nervous. Just relax and tell us your names and Martial Spirits. Of course, we've heard about you in advance, but I prefer seeing things with my own eyes."

Leng Chen stepped forward first, calm and composed.

"Leng Chen. Awakened Martial Spirit: Golden Peach Tree."

As he spoke, the Golden Peach Tree bloomed behind him—its golden leaves fluttering down like snowflakes.

The most excited among the elders was Chrysanthemum Douluo. His own Martial Spirit was reacting—not in a Martial Soul Fusion way, but due to a unique bloodline resonance. It wasn't just a peach tree; it was something more ancient.

Still, he said nothing. If he spoke up now, someone might try to take the boy from him.

'I'll just tell the Pope privately… I want to take him as my disciple.'

Qian Xunji raised a brow and nodded.

"Golden Peach Tree… a Tool-Type Martial Spirit with both control and auxiliary aspects. Fruit Trees like these often develop food-based skills. Among the elders, I believe Elder Yue Guan would be the best suited to guide you."

Leng Chen said nothing. He turned to Chrysanthemum Douluo, raised his left hand, and bowed lightly.

"Disciple greets Teacher."

The ceremony of accepting a teacher wasn't as formal as Tang San would one day make it. That concept of Teacher is like Father came from his later teachings. Right now, it was simpler—just a formal acknowledgment.

To Leng Chen, having Yue Guan as a master wasn't just about strength. It meant access to his knowledge of rare herbs and, more importantly, having two Title Douluo as protectors—Yue Guan and Ghost Douluo. Like buying one and getting the other for free.

"Good," Yue Guan said, smiling. "Just call me Teacher Yue from now on."

The Girls' Turn

Everyone then turned to the girls. Yaozhu and Yulai stepped forward together.

Leng Chen had already told them what to do. All they needed now was courage.

"I'm Leng Yaozhu," the first girl said. "My Martial Spirit is Heavenly Phoenix."

"I'm Leng Yulai," said the second. "My Martial Spirit is Dark Phoenix."

Their voices overlapped slightly, trembling but steady.

From the side, a tall and gentle old man stepped forward. His aura was vast and warm, like the midday sun.

He smiled as he released his Martial Spirit and soul rings, careful not to exert pressure—he merely wanted to show them.

"Young girls," he said with a kind voice. "You may call me Mo Tianhe, the Heavenly Douluo. My Martial Spirit is the Holy Light Kite. Among everyone here, I am the most suitable to guide you. Do you accept?"

"Disciple greets Teacher."x2.

"young girls from now on call me grandpa Mo"

Cherry's Turn

Cherry stepped up last, a little nervous.

"…Cherry. My Martial Spirit is Candy Crush Body."

activating her MS A transparent, Pink-haired loli with nine different types of candys as hair decoration with dark pink dress.

even though it isn't having that clear face their is still resembles to Cherry

The one who stepped forward to greet her was full of life. His bright robes shimmered like feathers, and a small, glowing bird circled above his head.

"Cherry, right?" he said, squatting to her eye level. "You're with me. I go by the name Feng Lianyu, the Glowing Feather Douluo."

He smiled like a mischievous child.

"Do you have a wish, little one? Anything at all. I'll make it happen. Promise."

He already knew from the reports about her tragic family past. He planned to personally destroy the noble family responsible—if she accepted him as her teacher. If someone else had stepped in, they would've done the same like him. Spirit Hall didn't tolerate trash getting in the way of future Title Douluos.

They had already calculated the future. In fifty years, Spirit Hall would have four new Title Douluos. In sixty or more, they would ascend to become Worship Elders.

They even knew the truth about Leng Chen's past.

Leng Chen knew that Spirit Hall was aware of who had caused his mother's death—even if they kept Bibi Dong's involvement concealed from him, he don't care but he will take care of her in his way.

So Leng Chen To him, Spirit Hall was the best place for growth and protection. His cheat, though powerful, had limits. Without enough Origin Power, he couldn't do much.

But the moment he entered Spirit City, he felt it—his Origin Power began rising. And once he officially became Yue Guan's disciple, it surged again. His passive income, both daily and monthly, was now far greater than if he'd tried to build his own force.

If he were over 20 years older then Tang San, maybe he'd consider creating his own sect. But at of now? It was far too late. Tang San would be born in just three years.

After that Bibi Dong will take the pope position. and then he will be hunted down by her.

He was the same age as Qian Renxue now. Becoming her childhood friend might be the best long-term strategy. That alone would cause another massive surge in Origin Power.

'I understand the structure of this Origin Energy, but I'm far from mastering it. I've had it for six years, and I'm still discovering new ways to use it.'

He knew that if he used it to kill Cherry's parents' murderer without the full details—name, age, face—he might kill the wrong person with the same identity.

Knowledge is the most important factor in minimizing failure and preserving Origin Power.

In his past life, he was a Full-Stack Web Engineer. That's how he'd managed to develop a Data Panel and Editor Skills within the system he used.

Hey again!

This fanfiction is something I truly enjoy working on—but I'll be honest, it's not easy. Right now, I'm going through a tough financial situation, and most of my work is physically demanding. By the end of the day, I'm often too exhausted to write, and I can't manage short writing sessions either.

Because of that, chapters take a lot more time and energy to complete than I expect. This one especially took more out of me than I thought. So I'm really sorry—I don't know when the next chapter will be ready.

Once I finish this fanfiction, I do plan to start writing my own original novel. I already have some concepts and world-building ideas prepared. But for now, I'll keep moving forward at my own pace.
