Chapter 69 - Ye Lingling

Seeing them together, Ye Lingling didn't want to disturb them. She decided to take a walk to relax.

She wandered around the city, trying to cool her head. Deep inside, she was also angry at their unreasonable teacher.

Meanwhile, Wu Lan's group was still disgusted by Tang San's tactics.

"Brother, Tang San is becoming more and more despicable and shameless!" Xiao Wu cursed furious after seeing him take a hostage and then proudly celebrate his victory.

Zhuqing also nodded in agreement.

Wu Lan couldn't help but laugh at Xiao Wu's words. In the anime, Tang San had done similar things, yet no one said anything about his behavior.

Maybe because Xiao Wu liked Tang San in the anime, she didn't care about the bad things he did, cared only the good.

In Soul Land, if a girl loves someone, she will go to any lengths for him, Bibi Dong, Liu Erlong, Ah Yin, Xiao Wu, and many more.

Among them, Bibi Dong was the craziest, wanting to destroy the entire world for the sake of Yu Xiaogang. Wu Lan still couldn't understand why she never realized she had been tricked by that piece of trash.

Liu Erlong wasn't much better, she had wasted twenty years waiting for someone like him.

Wu Lan sighed at the thought.

He looked at Xiao Wu and Zhuqing, who were still cursing Tang San non-stop. My arrival has already changed so much, he thought.

While they were venting, Xiao Wu's name was called for the next fight.

Hearing this, Xiao Wu's eyes lit up, she had finally found a punching bag for her anger.

"Brother, watch me beat my opponent into a pulp!" she said, swinging her fist with excitement.

Seeing this, Wu Lan silently prayed for the unlucky opponent.

Tang San should thank him for getting beaten instead of him.

"Rabbit, just don't let him die," Wu Lan reminded her.

After she left, only Wu Lan and Zhuqing were left.

"Zhuqing," he called softly.

Hearing this, Zhuqing turned toward him, her expression slightly angry.

Wu Lan was puzzled. "Zhuqing, why are you angry?"

"You already have a Rabbit and a Blondie. Why do you care about me?" she said, turning her head away with a pout.

Hearing this, Wu Lan realized she was jealous of the nicknames he had given to Qian Renxue and Xiao Wu, while he hadn't given her one.

He was surprised she cared so much about something like this.

Looking at her, with her cute pout, Wu Lan couldn't help but smile.

"Okay, Kitten, calm down," he said gently, stroking her head.

Zhuqing's face turned red like an apple. She lowered her gaze shyly but didn't avoid his hand. In fact, she leaned closer.

Just then, loud cheering interrupted them. They turned to see Xiao Wu bullying her opponent mercilessly, not even giving him a chance to surrender.

Wu Lan pitied the poor guy, who was being kicked around like a ball.

After venting her anger, Xiao Wu delivered a final kick and sent him flying out of the ring.

Cheers erupted, and Xiao Wu basked in the applause.

She rushed back to Wu Lan, looking at him expectantly.

"You did well, Rabbit," he praised, not disappointing her.

She smiled happily and shot Zhuqing a smug look.

Seeing this, Zhuqing rolled her eyes and turned away.

"Rabbit, Kitten, let's go back," Wu Lan said.

Xiao Wu froze. Then, she turned sharply toward Zhuqing, whose face was flushed. She realized her brother was referring to Zhuqing, but when had this happened? She wanted answers.

"Brother, you go back first. Me and Zhuqing have… something to do. Right, Kitten?" Xiao Wu emphasized the nickname, warning at Zhuqing to follow along.

Zhuqing hesitated, knowing Xiao Wu would question her. She was embarrassed to admit she had asked Wu Lan for a nickname.

But Xiao Wu didn't give her a chance to explain. She grabbed her hand and dragged her away.

Zhuqing shot Wu Lan a pitiful look, silently asking for help. But Wu Lan wisely chose not to interfere in 'girl talk'. He knew Xiao Wu wouldn't go too far, so he simply looked elsewhere.

After they left, he asked Bi Ji and Zi Ji to protect them, then headed toward the academy.

On the way, he saw a group of men surrounding a beautiful woman with long blue hair, her face covered by a veil.

He recognized her immediately, Ye Lingling.

What is she doing alone in the city?

She looked clearly troubled as four men harassed her. Wu Lan observed their strength, around level 20, at least fifteen levels below her.

She could have easily beaten them, but she seemed hesitant for some reason.

As Wu Lan approached, he heard one of the soul masters sneer,

"Beautiful girl, how about accompanying me for a drink?"

"Get lost," Ye Lingling replied with a frown.

"Your voice is so sweet. How about singing for us instead?" another man jeered. Seeing her as an easy target, they became bolder with their harassment.

Wu Lan didn't waste another second. He used Ghost Shadow Steps and instantly appeared in front of her.

The men were startled to see a young man suddenly standing between them and their prey.

"Who are you?" one of them demanded.

Ignoring them, Wu Lan turned to Ye Lingling.

Ye Lingling was equally surprised, staring at him in shock. For a moment, she was mesmerized by his handsome appearance.

"Why are you not fighting back? With your power, you could easily defeat this scum," Wu Lan said calmly.

His words brought her out of her daze. He was right, she could defeat them. But she hesitated, unwilling to strike down weaker opponents. She had hoped to ignore their remarks instead.

Seeing that the boy was ignoring them, the four men grew angry.

One of them stepped forward and threw a punch at Wu Lan's back.

But Wu Lan sensed it and didn't move, waiting to see what Ye Lingling would do.

Seeing the attack, Ye Lingling's eyes widened.

"Careful!" she cried.
