Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan
In the courtyard of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, a twelve-year-old boy was meditating in the middle of a training ground. Around him, shattered dummies and broken trees bore silent witness to the intensity of his recent training session.
This boy was Yu Zhenhai, one of the clan's most promising geniuses. Born with innate rank 7 soul power, he had been treasured by the clan and granted access to the finest resources available.
Slowly, he opened his eyes and clenched his fists.
"Good… I'm close to a breakthrough. In half a month, I'll advance," he murmured, his face glowing with arrogance.
"Oh? At the age of twelve and already near level 20? Not bad."
The sudden voice behind him sent a shiver down Yu Zhenhai's spine. It carried such weight that he felt as though he was being targeted by an ancient beast. Even his clan leader, Yu Yuanzhen, lacked this level of presence.
This… this was a Title Douluo.
Suppressing his nervousness, Yu Zhenhai quickly turned around, only to find no one there.
Confused, he called out, "Senior… are you there?"
"Yeah, I'm here."
The disembodied voice echoed faintly. Yu Zhenhai saw nothing, yet the unfathomable power emanating from the voice left him awestruck. He quickly offered thanks, mindful of his manners.
"Thank you, Senior, for your praise, but I'm not worthy of such words compared to your talent."
"Good. A genius, yet humble. Your potential is limitless."
The words filled Yu Zhenhai with joy, his pride swelling as he stood a little taller.
"Senior… may I know who you are?"
"I am one of the clan's elders," the voice replied calmly. "I have just come out of seclusion. When I sensed your presence, I decided to take a look, and I am not disappointed. Meeting you is fate. I will grant you an opportunity. Here, catch this."
Something gleamed in the air, hurtling toward Yu Zhenhai. Acting quickly, he caught it, and his eyes widened.
It was a leg soul bone, etched with intricate dragon-shaped patterns.
Excitement surged through him. A soul bone, no matter its age, was priceless. And he had received one for free!
"Thank you, Senior!"
"It's a small thing," the voice said lightly. "Absorb it now. I will protect you."
Yu Zhenhai was deeply moved by the assurance. He knew that if anyone else had seen the soul bone, they might have harmed him to seize it.
Without hesitation, he sat cross-legged once again, clutching the shining leg bone tightly. Its dragon-shaped patterns pulsed with faint light, releasing a majestic aura that resonated deeply with his martial spirit.
'A soul bone at twelve… With this, I might reach Rank 20 or more' he thought, barely containing his excitement.
The senior's calm yet authoritative voice spoke again.
"Focus your mind. Let your soul power flow into it slowly. Do not resist its energy, guide it into your meridians."
"Yes, Senior!" Yu Zhenhai replied, bowing toward the empty courtyard before pressing the soul bone against his leg.
At once, a powerful surge of energy entered him, burning like molten fire. His body trembled violently, and he clenched his teeth against the sharp pain. Yet his eyes shone with determination.
Crack!
A faint sound echoed from within his bones, as though they were being reforged. Threads of blue lightning sparked along his leg, flickering wildly, illuminating the courtyard in dazzling light.
"Good… good… endure it," the voice praised, clearly pleased. "Your foundation is strong enough. Once this is complete, your future will soar beyond your peers."
The encouragement fueled Yu Zhenhai's resolve, filling him with renewed strength.
"It's… done!" he gasped at last, standing and clenching his fists. His body felt as if it had been reborn, surging with new power.
"Excellent. You will remember this day," the senior's voice said faintly, as though fading into the distance. "Train well, Yu Zhenhai. One day, your talent may shake even the heavens…"
And then, silence. The mysterious presence was gone.
Yu Zhenhai bowed deeply toward the empty air. "I will not let Senior down!"
Far away from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, in a hidden area…
"Finally, preparations are complete. Now I just need to wait," a voice murmured.
It was none other than Wu Lan.
Two Months Ago
When Wu Lan had first arrived at the Heaven Dou Empire capital, he had begun searching for the location of the immortal herb garden.
After a week of using his Blue Silver sense across Sunset forest, he found it. However, he also detected Dugu Bo guarding the place.
Although Wu Lan knew he could easily kill Dugu Bo if he wanted, he refrained. He had devised a far more interesting plan, and the potential rewards made him eager to see it succeed.
After securing the location of the garden, he set out to find his next target: Yu Zhenhai.
Locating the boy wasn't difficult, he was a well-known genius within the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. But upon examining his progress, Wu Lan frowned.
Still only Level 19? Why is this trash cultivating so slowly? Can't he cultivate faster like me?
Sure enough, there's a difference between genius and ordinary men.
he thought with a sigh.
If anyone had overheard, they might have beaten him senseless, especially after learning how he had gained his own Soul power.
Still, for his plan to work, Yu Zhenhai needed to reach Level 20 and go hunt for a soul beast.
But how? At his pace, it would take Half a month.
Then there's only one way, Wu Lan realized.
A soul bone.
Yet where could he find a dragon-type soul bone? He refused to ask Gu Yuena for such a trivial matter.
Then it struck him.
I'm standing on a treasure trove while searching for treasure elsewhere.
The Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan surely possessed soul bones in their vaults. All he had to do was take one.
After carefully observing the structure of the vault and the patterns of guard rotations, Wu Lan stealthily infiltrated the clan's treasure house and stole a low-level, hundred-year soul bone.
Then, returning to the capital, just a day before Tang San's arrival, he disguised his voice as a mysterious senior and gifted the bone to Yu Zhenhai, pushing him toward his breakthrough.
Now, all preparations were complete.
The plan was in motion.
