Sawyer was furious at his ex-fiancé's sudden words. His breath hitched. If he made one wrong move, their relationship would be over. What was he supposed to do now? Should he let his ex-fiancé marry another man? He was utterly disgusted with his failed love life. He didn't want to remain silent any longer.
"Jennifer, are you really going to marry another man?"
Jennifer nodded nervously. "Because there's nothing we can do anymore. Our relationship ended two years ago. Just being able to be friends with you makes me incredibly grateful."
"So, you're just going to give up like that? If you married that man, would you live happily ever after?"
"No! I won't be happy if I marry him!" Jennifer finally broke down in tears, patting her chest in frustration. "I don't want to marry another man. I'm so upset with myself for not being able to make a decision."
"Then be my girlfriend!"
Jennifer lifted her head slowly. "What?"
