Chapter 326 - Chapter 327: The Seven-Colored Heaven-Swallowing Python

The moment he felt the other's gaze, Lin Yun's heart skipped a beat. He knew that his visit this time was not foolproof. Even the smallest mistake could be seized upon by his opponent.

"Damn it, I think we've been spotted."

The instant Lin Yun uttered these words, he grabbed Fang Yu'er and Zhou Damao and began a hasty retreat.

Though the three of them were moving quickly, the man behind them, Qi Hengtian, was not so easily dealt with. Qi Hengtian had long been curious as to how someone was always able to stay one step ahead of him. He had even begun to suspect that someone was playing a joke on him. And then, he saw the fleeing Lin Yun.

"I knew there was someone here," he seethed. "Go after him immediately. I don't care what methods you use, I want to see him dead."

Qi Hengtian's voice was filled with a frigid killing intent, his attitude severe. The disciples behind him immediately nodded and gave chase, not daring to delay.

On the other side, the three were still running for their lives.

"I told you that dealing with these people was not a wise choice!" Zhou Damao, who was running at the front, felt a massive headache coming on.

"But we did get a lot of benefits from him this time," Fang Yu'er said with a laugh from the side. "If you're always scared of your own shadow, you'll never get your hands on so many treasures. We may have stirred up trouble this time, but in the end, we haven't been caught yet, have we?"

The terrain of the Wangyu Forest was complex, and it was filled with countless terrifying creatures. She wasn't worried that they would actually be captured.

Zhou Damao, however, did not celebrate so prematurely. Although they had managed to create some distance, who knew what other tricks their opponents had up their sleeves? "We haven't been caught yet, but we need to think ahead about what to do next. If we wait until we're caught to think of a solution, it will be too late."

Lin Yun was also considering what Zhou Damao had said. He was currently looking down, thinking hard. After a moment, a sharp glint flashed in his eyes. He hadn't forgotten his purpose for coming here. It was clear that these people were not disciples of the Crimson Ghost Sect. He could use this opportunity to thoroughly investigate their true identities.

At this thought, he took a deep breath. He had been observing his surroundings while following them earlier, and he had quickly locked onto a target.

Meanwhile, Qi Hengtian and Huang Zelin were in close pursuit. They were, however, moving at a leisurely pace, not looking particularly hurried.

"I never thought the humans of this age would be so bold, daring to steal something from right under my nose," Qi Hengtian said, his eyes filled with killing intent.

Huang Zelin, beside him, lowered his head and didn't dare to reply.

But as they ran, Huang Zelin began to feel that something wasn't right. Not only had the fleeing Lin Yun suddenly vanished from their sight, but the surrounding environment had also changed.

After a careful observation, Huang Zelin's voice trembled. "My lord. It seems we've arrived at an extraordinary place."

Qi Hengtian snorted. "You had best be telling me good news. I'd like to see what place in this world could possibly be considered 'extraordinary'." As he spoke, he took a closer look.

The sight almost made him stumble and fall to the ground.

At some point, they had arrived in a clearing, surrounded by a barrier of towering ancient trees. This place had no dense spiritual energy; on the contrary, it was filled with an extremely strong, resentful aura.

Coiled before them was a giant python. The scales covering its entire body shimmered with a seven-colored light, and the resentment emanating from it was terrifying.

This creature was called the Seven-Colored Heaven-Swallowing Python.

Lin Yun had read about it in some ancient texts long ago. The python's strength was formidable; even in the ancient era, it was considered a regional hegemon. The ancient clans of that time had to behave themselves in its presence.

Lin Yun admitted that Qi Hengtian was strong, but he didn't believe for a second that he could act as arrogantly in front of this creature as he had before.

After confirming that the danger here was more than he could handle, Qi Hengtian prepared to lead his men away from this damned place. He wasn't sure if Lin Yun was still here, and even if he was, they couldn't dare to linger. Antagonizing the Heaven-Swallowing Python was by no means a wise choice, especially since the creature was currently in a state of slumber.

"Be careful. Don't wake it," Qi Hengtian specifically instructed.

Their every move was being watched by Zhou Damao and Fang Yu'er, who were hidden in the dense forest.

Lin Yun's plan this time was a success; the python had indeed terrified Qi Hengtian. But if he and his men simply left, they would still be a problem later. To solve this once and for all, the two sides had to fight here.

Lin Yun, of course, also knew this. Qi Hengtian wanted to leave and avoid a confrontation. How could Lin Yun possibly give him that choice?

"If it were before, I might not have been able to stop him. But this time, the situation is different. He thinks he can just leave? Does he really have that opportunity?"

As Lin Yun's thought faded, he drew the bowstring of the God-Slaying Bow in his hands. This time, however, he used a special technique. The power was greatly reduced, but it was perfectly suited for the current battlefield.

Zhou Damao and Fang Yu'er had both witnessed the power of this divine bow before. They just didn't think that Lin Yun could actually use it to kill Qi Hengtian now. Even grievously wounding him seemed a bit of a stretch. An expert of Qi Hengtian's level would absolutely be able to counter-attack in the shortest possible time if attacked.

Lin Yun, of course, said nothing. The arrow in his hand had already flown.

With a sound of tearing air, it approached Qi Hengtian with lightning speed.

It was just as Zhou Damao had thought. If Qi Hengtian's strength had truly surpassed the Myriad Law Realm, then his sensory abilities in many matters were far beyond those of ordinary people. Even if Lin Yun's methods were special, ambushing him was still very difficult. An expert of the Yinyang Realm was too terrifying.

And indeed, the instant Lin Yun's attack was released, Qi Hengtian was aware of it. He could feel the terrifying energy fluctuations on the arrow.

"Interesting. I wonder what realm this person is, to be able to use such a technique," Qi Hengtian sneered, his expression calm and composed.
