Its been two months since Tan and Jennifer's marriage. They were living their married life happily, bickering was always there. Sometimes, Tan does something that irritates Jennifer, sometimes, she is the one to do so. Now, as they were living under one roof, they kept on pranking each other, making them to reach their work late. Without knowing, all of this was bringing them closer, but they were not ready to accept their hidden feelings.
Jennifer woke up in sweats, breathing heavily, as if she had run a marathon, or was doing some heavy exercise. She ran her hand to the side table searching for water, but broke a glass accidentally.
Tan, who was in the shower, came out wearing his bathrobe, as he heard the doing of glass breaking. He saw Jennifer standing, he came near her.
"What happened? Why are you covered in sweats? What was that noise?" He asked worriedly as he checked from head to toe, but got silence in answer, she was still in daze. As he was checking her, he noticed she was standing on broken glass, before he could react, Jennifer fainted, he held her protectively. He made her lay on the bed.
He took out First Aid Kit from a drawer, taking out the ointment and bandage, he looked at Jennifer, who was unconscious. He doesn't like this Jenny, he likes it when she bickers with him, he likes it when she talks back to him, even though all of her antics make him annoyed, in some corner of his heart, he loves those antics of her dearly.
He bandaged her feet, that was bleeding because of glass pricking. He cleaned the glass and sat near her caressing her hair and removing the hair that were sticking to her face from sweat. He looked at her tired, tear stained face, which was probably because of the nightmare she saw. He remembered the day she taught him a lesson.
Flashback :-
It was 10 in the morning, Tan was supposed to be in building at 8. But a prank done by his dear wife made him late.
She mixed neon green dye in his shampoo, that made him to go to the salon get his brownish black hair back.
Right now, everyone in the building was scared seeing his stoic expression, that look on his face was screaming, "one mistake and you're gone.".
No one, literally no one ever irritated him to this extent, that he was ready to fire his dear wife, but can't, else he'll get scolded by his mother for making her daughter cry. His parents are so whipped for Jennifer, that they can even disown Tan for her.
Tan was just on his way to the elevator, but before he can even press the button for elevator, he felt a thing hit his head, and that thing was a slipped. Everyone in the reception area had their jaw hanging till the floor, seeing their CEO pick up the pretty lady slipper in his hand. Tan very well knew the owner of this slipper and that's none other than his oh- so- sweet wifey Mrs. Jennifer Williams.
He looked at Jennifer, who was standing few feets away from him, looking at him, as if she saw a ghost.
Seconds later, everyone heard a roar, "MRS. JENNIFER, IN MY OFFICE, NOW."
Everyone present in the reception area showed thumbs up to Jennifer, mouthing their best wishes for her and got back to their works, shaking their heads knowing this was an always thing in the building.
Jennifer reached her husband's office, knocking slowly and opening the door, but got startled seeing him standing just by the door. She nervously smiled at him mouthing a sorry.
Then started Tan's lecture, "You make me mad, get on my nerves and what not, by your those chaotic antics, what are you, 5? Keeping on jumping around the whole company like a monkey." Tan said and huffed angrily.
This was it, he knew that he hit a nerve in Jennifer, that he shouldn't have but he was too angry to even say sorry.
"Who are you calling a monkey? Huh!! What do you think you are, huh? Why should I stop my actions? Atleast my actions bring a smile on people's faces and look at yourself, always shouting and scaring everyone." Jennifer too, huffed angrily and left her boss' cabin stomping her feet.
Flashback Ends
Tan chuckles a little, remembering the incident. He looks at Jennifer and sees her moving. She looks at him with drowsy eyes and asks, "What happened? Why are you sitting here, that too in a bathrobe?"
"Oh! That? I came out of the shower listening a glass breaking sound." Tan said explaining. Jennifer looked at him confused, "A glass broke? How?"
"You don't remember?"
"What?"
"So you don't remember. Actually, I was taking a shower, but came out hearing a glass breaking sound, and saw you standing still, covered in sweats, as if you ran in a mararhon, and you were standing on the broken glass pieces, before I could say a word, you fainted."
"Oh."
"Did you have a nightmare or something?" Tan asks worriedly. Jennifer nods and says, "Yes and it was related to my kidnapping." "Did you by any chance saw something related to that incident or met someone related? Because It's impossible to have a nightmare, just like that." Tan asks stating his thoughts.
Jennifer nods and says, "Yes, yesterday, when I was alone at home, I thought of taking a walk outside. I felt like someone was following me, so I went inside the house to keep myself safe. But, after about 10 minutes, I got a message from an unknown number saying 'You can't run from me'. That terrified me to death, I wanted to tell you so I waited for you to come, but you were tired so I didn't."
"Please, Jennifer, Don't ever hide something related to this, ever again, even if I am tired or in a business meeting, just call me. Cause I can't lose you." Tan says looking into Jennifer's doe eyes, his eyes held a deeper meaning to his words, the words he wasn't saying, his eyes said it all.
