The sky above VMA (Vatican Mountain Area) was a gentle blue moments ago. Now, it rumbled faintly, as if holding its breath.
Jimmy stepped forward.
His voice calm, low:
"Luna. Let's set the stage. On my call—create the rain."
Luna nodded once. But there was a twist — what stood before the opponents wasn't truly Luna.
A clone shimmered in her place. Luna is hidden inside it. The real Luna her mane pulsing in silent rhythm. No one noticed.
Jimmy whispered,
"Are you ready?"
Luna's clone nodded gently. "Onn…onnonnn…"
Clouds churned overhead. A deep rumble began to build.
..................
But six challengers didn't wait.
Gravmock "Rock Blast"
Scintafrost "Electric Shock"
Salkrow "Wind Cutter"
Treknaught "Leaf Beam"
Floriska "Hexa Vines"
Spyndrel "Hypnosis"
Six Whisps launched forward — projectiles, wind, electricity, vines, and shimmering waves all collided at once toward the clone Luna. Luna also use her 3 clones with aqua charge to attack all of them.
BOOM.
Smoke curled up from impact, but Jimmy didn't flinch.
"Luna. Psychic and Flying types are our first problem. But before that use what we practiced on Bruno. Electromagnetic Wave. On my call.3... 2... 1—"
"Now"
Luna — the real one — released a low-pitched hum, her antler-like horns glowing.
A pulse rippled out from her, invisible to most.
Just like the trick they'd practiced.

🔊 FLASHBACK: Bruno, the Robot from Kirim
3 days earlier, inside his house, Luna had faced off against Bruno, the robot Jimmy brought from the Kirim auction house. jimmy used it to practice the electromagnetic wave.
Bzzzz–ZTTT!
...an electromagnetic dissonance wave.
The robot froze mid-punch. His gears jittered, visual sensors flickering. Luna's technique was crude back then and only freeze it for 2 sec.
But now? It had evolved.
................
Luna nodded. Her horns began to glow.In a flash, she released a pulse of electromagnetic energy across the battlefield.
In Arena, Lingrithms flickered. Once. Twice. OFF.
All six opponents blinked in confusion.
Their Codex links… severed.
Suddenly—all the Lingrithm displays started glitching. Then they shut off, one by one, like old TVs turning off.
The crowd erupted with confusion and shock.
In the control room, someone shouted,"Call the Coordinator! Check the camera feeds!"
But when they pulled up the cameras—nothing could be seen.Everything had gone black around those Whisps.
.....................
CROWD ERUPTED
"WOOOOOAAAAHHHHH!"
"TURN THE CAMERAS BACK ON!"
Kids in the stands leapt up. One shouted,
Parents leaned over rails. High-tier breeders stared, stunned.
.........................
Even Guild officers stood up, watching intently.
COMMENTARY – LIVE STREAM:
"I—I don't even have words! ALL SIX Lingrithms… disrupted at once! The field's gone dark for them! But other channel is going on."
"This isn't hacking. This is technique. Coordinated disruption! That was an electromagnetic disable wave, I'm certain!"
"But Whisps can't just turn off other Whisps like that! That's unheard of!"
Elsha: "Unless… the user has more than tier 3 attack level."
"We need a Coordinator review right now! Check the playback—wait, what? The cameras didn't even catch it?!"
...................
Just then, the clouds above rumbled louder.
Jimmy turned to the sky.
"Now, Luna. Begin the rain."
The clouds darkened — an unnatural storm spreading outward. Soft drops began to fall.
And under that rain, Luna's body — the real one — stepped forward, slow and glowing.
Behind her, the clone flickered and vanished.
The arena went wild.
And the opponents? Staring at Jimmy like he'd just rewritten everything they knew.
They started to come at her with every attack they had,
Gravmock "Rock and roll"
Scintafrost "ice beam"
Salkrow "arial flash"
Treknaught "seed vine"
Floriska "Hexa Vines"
Spyndrel "teleportation + hyponosis."
..............................
The six Whisps charged forward in a synchronized surge —rock, wind, psychic, electric, leaf, vines — all aimed at Luna.
At the front, Spyndrel blinked in and out of visibility, teleporting in short hops, closing in like a phantom.
From behind the clone, Jimmy spoke coolly:
"Luna… when he reaches you."
Luna's eyes flicked with electric light. She stayed still, not moving an inch.
Suddenly, the other five Whisps rushed toward her, their trainers desperate for a clean win.Their combined force made the ground quake, wind spiral, vines twist in air.
Jimmy narrowed his eyes.
"Now, Luna."
CRACK!KRRAAA-KROOOM!!
Two thunderbolts slammed down from the stormy sky —one striking Spyndrel mid-teleport, the other catching Salkrow mid-flight.
They were hit cleanly, as if Luna had read their angles.
A shockwave exploded from the impact.Nearby Whisps were all flung away, tumbling through the wet dirt.
Rain started to pour heavily.
The smoke rose up from the scorched earth——but Luna stepped out, horns glowing icy blue. She parted the mist just by walking.
There—lying on the battlefield—were Spyndrel and Salkrow, their bodies twitching, unconscious.
.................
The other Whisps turned to help——but before they could—
FWHOOOM!
A blast of ice erupted from Luna's horns.
The ground beneath the two downed Whisps froze instantly, sealing them inside a glassy prison.Their allies skidded to a stop, stunned.
And then—
CRACK—BOOOM!
Another bolt of lightning shattered above them.
The remaining four Whisps froze in fear, their eyes wide. They instinctively ran back behind their trainers—terrified.
Luna stood still, her horns now gathering the falling rain, condensing it into a swirling orb above her head.It crackled with electricity.
Their trainers panicked, shouting:
"Wait—wait! Please stop! Don't hurt them!""They're already down!"
But just as they turned toward their fallen teammates—
Two shadows moved behind them.
..............
From behind, Zirae and Rykarn emerged — silent as phantoms.
They moved with eerie precision, shadows in motion. Before anyone could react—before a command could be shouted—they each reached forward and, with practiced ease—
Snatched the badges from 6 trainers' pockets.
For a split second, the battlefield paused—7 eyes wide in shock.
"Wha—?!""Zirae?! What are you—?!"
But they never finished their sentence.
TING—ZZZZAP!
The moment the badges left their rightful holders, a silver glyph beneath their feet lit up.
FWOOOOOSH!
A sudden pulse of light surrounded the badge-less trainers and their Whisps. In the blink of an eye—they were forcefully teleported out of the arena, their forms vanishing in an instant.
Gone.
Only the rain remained.
Zirae and Rykarn stood alone in the fog-draped field—two silhouettes, victorious thieves of trust and tokens.
.................
Jimmy's Words
Jimmy stood still.
Then slowly, a quiet, knowing smile formed on his face.
He turned to places of the stunned six, who were now gone and betrayed by their own.
"See now?" Jimmy said softly."You asked why we didn't team up?""Because trust... is a myth on this field."
"Everyone's hungry for a win."
Luna stepped forward, translating Jimmy's voice like a mimicry spell towards their whisps.
"Now both of you... who's going to fight?"
"Or who's going to backstab?"
"I'm just sitting here now."
She walked calmly to Jimmy's side.
He sat on a broken tree trunk—arms resting—watching.
................
Then one of them stepped forward, forcing a smile.
"Hey, listen… you're clearly the strongest here.""If you join us—we'll make you captain. You can lead the team. It's good idea. Is not it? Hey Zirae said something.".
The other quickly added, nodding in agreement.
"Yeah, no tricks. We just want to win. Together."
Jimmy didn't move.
Then something strange happened.
The rain didn't stop. But the fog around them deepened, curling like smoke from fire.
A white mist began to swallow the arena, crawling across the ground twisting snake. The battlefield blurred.
No one outside could see clearly anymore.
Two trainers. One decision. Betray... or be betrayed... or make a temporary team?
Jimmy and Luna sat quietly, waiting.
...................
Will it be betrayal… or an uneasy alliance?
Who will draw first— and who will disappear?
To be continued…
