Chapter 248 - Chapter 248: Omastar's Suppression

Omastar swung its multiple tentacles continuously, manipulating the rotating water currents to restrict Seaking's mobility while simultaneously dealing sustained damage.

"Seaking, escape from the whirlpool! Don't let Omastar drain your stamina," Naoto shouted urgently.

Upon hearing the command, Seaking struggled desperately, thrashing its tail fin in an attempt to break free from the Whirlpool's control. But the effort proved futile—Omastar's multiple tentacles weren't something that could be easily shaken off.

"Use Crunch at close range," Red commanded.

Omastar immediately extended its tentacles, coiling them tightly around Seaking's body and rendering it completely immobile.

Under Seaking's terrified gaze, Omastar used its brute strength to drag the struggling Water-type directly toward itself.

Once the prey reached optimal striking distance, Omastar slowly revealed its razor-sharp teeth—their terrifying nature evident from appearance alone.

Despite Seaking's frantic struggles and desperate thrashing, Omastar clamped down hard with devastating force.

"No!"

Amid Naoto's anguished cry and Seaking's pained screams, Omastar's teeth tore scales brutally from Seaking's body, dealing considerable damage while simultaneously reducing its physical defense.

Naoto couldn't help but wince at Seaking's suffering, not expecting Omastar to employ such vicious tactics.

But Omastar couldn't be entirely blamed—after all, it was already suppressing its bloodthirsty instincts considerably. Otherwise, Seaking's situation could have been far more dire.

Omastar wasn't a fossil Pokémon revived from a Helix Fossil, but rather an authentic carnivorous ancient Pokémon born and raised in prehistoric times.

When confronting opponents it perceived as prey, Omastar naturally exhibited predatory brutality—deep within its nature resided the most primal hunting instinct, a killing intent released through pure predatory reflex.

Fortunately, through joint training from Red and Professor Oak, Omastar had gradually adapted to modern environments. Otherwise, it would have devoured Seaking without hesitation.

Through sheer survival instinct triggered by mortal peril, Seaking in its extremely fearful state forcefully executed Horn Attack, using its sharp horn to knock Omastar away and finally free itself from Crunch's torment.

Fortunately, Omastar had activated Withdraw just in time, using its impenetrable shell to absorb Seaking's Horn Attack.

Afterward, Omastar leisurely emerged from its protective shell, playfully toying with the torn scales in its mouth as if admiring a prized trophy.

What infuriated Seaking most came next—Omastar curiously sniffed the scales, and after detecting the fishy odor, disdainfully tossed them aside with obvious contempt.

This highly mocking gesture made Seaking feel its dignity had been utterly trampled.

The insult ignited pure rage within Seaking. No longer recalling its earlier terror, that fear had been completely consumed by blazing anger. At this moment, Seaking wanted nothing more than to beat this arrogant carnivore into submission.

Whether Seaking possessed the strength to accomplish this remained to be seen.

However, Omastar seemed genuinely interested in the challenge, curious what exciting battle tactics this prey might employ.

"Seaking, use Waterfall!" Naoto commanded decisively, opting for an aggressive approach.

After hearing the command, Seaking manipulated the Water venue's currents, transforming them into a towering wave. Riding atop the massive surge, Seaking charged toward Omastar with incredible momentum.

"Surface and stand on the platform, then counter with Ice Beam to freeze the Waterfall," Red stated calmly, betraying no anxiety at the threatening situation.

A trainer's composure was crucial to achieving victory in Pokémon battles. Red's calm tone immediately steadied the slightly nervous Omastar.

Omastar nimbly surfaced from the pool bottom, using its tentacles' springlike power to leap gracefully back onto the platform.

Just as Seaking prepared to crash down with the massive wave, an Ice Beam erupted from Omastar's mouth, striking the incoming surge first and hitting Seaking's body in the process.

"The tide has turned again! Seaking's offensive was completely neutralized by Omastar's Ice Beam! What countermeasures will contestant Naoto employ next? Stay tuned!" the announcer shouted excitedly, driving the battle atmosphere to new heights.

"I didn't expect Red's Omastar to improve this dramatically!" Gary exclaimed from the stands, genuinely surprised.

"After receiving Red's intensive training regimen, it's only natural," Leaf agreed.

"Huh? I don't think big brother's Omastar changed that much," Ash said, genuinely confused. "Isn't it the same? What's so surprising?"

Misty and Brock immediately covered their faces in embarrassment, frantically signaling Ash to stop talking. "You may have no shame, but we still do."

"Honestly, Ash, you never posed any real threat to Omastar back then," Gary said with exasperation.

"What?! Damn it, Gary!" Ash protested indignantly.

"Impossible! Seaking's Waterfall was broken just like that!" Naoto exclaimed in disbelief, unable to accept what his eyes were showing him.

"Omastar, follow up with Stone Edge," Red commanded immediately, giving Naoto no opportunity to recover.

Sharp stone blades materialized around Omastar, and under its precise control, they launched rapidly toward the vulnerable Seaking.

The jagged projectiles mercilessly wounded Seaking's body, causing it to tumble from the frozen wave covered in fresh injuries.

Just as Seaking began falling, Naoto suddenly conceived a desperate battle strategy and shouted to his plummeting partner.

"Seaking, use this momentum! Aim Horn Drill at Omastar!"

Horn Drill was a devastating one-hit knockout move. Naoto hoped to use this high-risk technique to either take down Omastar entirely or at least deal significant damage, giving his second Pokémon an advantage.

The falling Seaking's sharp horn began rotating furiously like a drill bit, angling toward Omastar's position in a last-ditch attempt to deliver a fatal blow.
