Chapter 1 - 1.The Memories of Yesterday

Diary Entry 57th

It's 1:00 am, and I can still hear those annoying train noises from my window. Surprisingly, they seem somewhat pleasant tonight. I have to leave at 10:00 am for Alliance University, my first orientation day. Leaving these unpleasant school memories behind feels liberating, but I can't shake the doubt – was I really at fault for experiencing it? Will this happen again in my college life? At least the last day of school wasn't that bad.

Tears fall from Alex's eyes

The courtyard is filled with the chatter of excited students, some huddled in groups, others exchanging yearbooks and making plans for the summer. Alex has gathered the courage to ask for taking photos as it is the last day of school, so he approaches a group of his classmates.

Sarah: (excitedly) "Can you believe it's the last day, what are your plans, after this?"

Emily: "I know right, I am so fed up wearing these school uniforms. The college I am applying for doesn't have a dress code. Also, the campus is located in Serenitha."

Sarah: "S...Serenitha!!! (shocked voice) you mean you're going to be in the same country as my favourite boy band?"

Emily: "Yeah! I am. Is there any problem (smirk)? Oh, I forget, they are going to perform for my college orientation."

Sarah: "No way...are you serious?" (shocked)

Emily: No, I am joking.

Sarah: (whining) I really want to see... (stopped whining) You are joking, seriously?

Emily: "Yes, but I am really going to join the campus located in Serenitha. So if you want, I can bring an autograph of Shiga for you."

Sarah: (Suddenly holds Emily's hands) "You are my best friend (eyes full of stars)."

Emily: "Okay, Okay, leave my hands, fangirl."

Alex: (smiling) "Hey, I was thinking of taking lots of pictures today, you know, to remember everyone."

Emily: Hey, who is this shithead?

Sarah: (Pulls Emily toward her and punches the camera from Alex's hand) "Do not talk to him. Hey, he's just a pervert, who takes pictures of girls. in his bag, during yesterday's general checking, also he was found to possess so many photos of the girls, even he has pictures of those who study in our school, even now he is holding the camera. Let's just leave and not ruin our last day."

Alex picks up the camera, which is not broken, just some crashes on the screen

Chris: (jokingly) "Ah, starting your career as the class photographer or something, Mr. Loner?"

Alex: (smiles) "No, it's not like that. Let's have a photo together; the camera is still working."

Chris: "Before that, (In the ears) where are the photos that I gave you to keep, they are with you right?"

[As they talk, a shift in the atmosphere occurs. Jake, the school bully, and his friends enter the scene.]

Jake: "Well, well, well. If it isn't the pervert camera guy."

Alex: (nervously) "Hey, Jake." (A punch landed on his side, knocking him off balance)

Suddenly, a girl named Mia joins the group. She raises her hand as if to slap Alex.

Mia: (sarcastically) "Alex, do you want have more pictures of me? or let's have a picture together after your face looks good."

Another blow, now in Alex's face. The world around him blurred as he desperately tried to shield himself; he is trying to find Chris as he may help him but is nowhere to be found

Mia: (harshly) "You know what, Alex? You deserve this."

She slaps him across the face. The group erupts in laughter.

Alex: (whispering, as he got unconscious) "Maybe I deserve it... I was never meant to have friends; I was born to be used by others."

Later, in the Infirmary

Nurse: "Alex, how did this happen?"

Alex: "I just want to sit alone; just leave me alone. I just fell."

Nurse: "If something has happened, you can talk to me about it."

Alex: "No, I don't want to talk about it."

(Nurse left)

That day was supposed to be a day of memories, but it turned into a nightmare. Did I deserve it? I shouldn't have been born. I really wanted to have a friend. Chris promised me that he would be there for me when I need him, which is why I carried his bag. I did whatever he wanted me to do, but he left me. Am I a bad person? Was it because I was doing what Chris wanted me to do, was I greedy to do things, just for the sake of having friendship? Was it that I was selfish? I still cannot forget the fears in the eyes of those girls, the hatred, and the slap of that girl; it's etched in my mind. How can I forget this? It happened on the last day of school? The memories I wanted to capture are stained with pain. I'm just a shadow, unwanted, unloved. Tomorrow is a big day for me. I'm leaving for the hostel, and I can't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. It's a new chapter in my life, and I know it will be a significant step towards independence and personal growth and will not be the same.

Leaving home is bittersweet. I'll miss my family, my cozy room, and the comfort of being surrounded by familiar faces. But deep down, I know this is an opportunity for me to explore new horizons, meet new people, and develop into a stronger and more self-reliant individual. Leaving home also means adapting to a new routine. I'll have to wake up early, manage my laundry, and handle other daily chores that I'm not used to doing. It will be a learning experience, and I'm prepared to embrace the ups and downs that come with it.

As I conclude my last day at home, I can't help but reflect on the memories I've made in this familiar space. It's the place where I grew up, where I laughed and cried, and where I discovered my passions and dreams. But now, it's time to embark on a new journey and create new memories. Tomorrow, as I leave for the hostel, I'll carry a mix of emotions within me. I'm nervous, excited, and a little scared, but deep down, I know that this experience will shape me into the person I aspire to be. I'm ready to face the challenges, embrace the opportunities, and make the most of this new chapter in my life. Also, this is the last page, so I won't be able to write for a while. So, for now, goodbye dear diary, it's 4:00 am. I should get some sleep; I really miss you....

Alex: (to himself), "So no more dear diaries from now on. I should be ashamed of myself to have relied on a diary, even today's kids do not write such thing, am I really meant to be alone in this world, was I never meant to understand what true friendship is like, it feels so lonely, even my mom and dad will be without me from now on, should I kill myself, just to end their and my suffering or am I, such a coward to not end the cycle of suffering, all I can do is cry, even now, I cannot fight for myself, how could I protect my family"

After a while, he went from his room to kitchen, as he was hungry, which was near his parent's room, Alex wandered through the dimly lit house, his footsteps echoing in the silence that enveloped the rooms, the pain from the physical blows he endured was nothing compared to the emotional turmoil tormenting his soul. As he entered the kitchen, the memories of the cruel events of the last day of school played in his mind like a haunting melody, the refrigerator hummed softly as he opened it, searching for something to quell the gnawing hunger within him.

The stark reality of his life weighed heavily on his shoulders. Was this the fate he was destined for? A life of isolation, pain, and unanswered questions, the quietness of the house was unsettling, and he could almost hear the distant laughter of his classmates, further intensifying his isolation. The walls seemed to close in on him, suffocating him with the memories he desperately wanted to forget, the faint glow from the streetlamp outside cast shadows on the kitchen floor. Alex hesitated for a moment, staring blankly at the food in his hands. The simple act of making a late-night snack felt like a monumental task, a reflection of the larger challenges awaiting him in the outside world, The urge to cry was there, but the tears refused to fall. It was as if his spirit had been beaten into submission, leaving behind a numb emptiness.

As he sat in the dimly lit kitchen, Alex's thoughts drifted back to the words written in his diary. The pain, the loneliness, the fear – all etched onto the pages. He questioned whether he was truly meant to endure this solitary journey or if there was a glimmer of hope waiting for him at Alliance University, with a heavy heart, he glanced at the clock. The hands moved relentlessly, ticking away the remaining hours until his departure. The inevitable transition from the familiar comfort of home to the unknown challenges of college filled him with a mix of anticipation and dread.

The night wore on, each passing minute bringing him closer to the moment when he would leave everything behind. The thought of facing a new chapter in his life felt both daunting and liberating. Would Alliance University be a place where he could redefine himself, away from the shadows of his painful past?

Alex: (to himself) "I wish I was never born."

Suddenly a voice from the parent's room

Alexa's Father (John): (Looking through old family photo albums) "It's incredible how time has flown by, isn't it?"

Alexa's Mother (Emma): (Smiling) "Yes, John. It feels like just yesterday when we welcomed little Alex into our lives."

John: (Chuckles) "I remember how nervous I was, holding him for the first time. He was so small, and the responsibility felt overwhelming."

John: (Nodding) "Yes, he always had that resilience in him. I've seen him face challenges, big and small, with a quiet strength."

Emma: (Thoughtfully) "Our son has always been an observer, a deep thinker. I remember when he started school, and he struggled to make friends. It broke my heart."

John: (Sighs) "Those were tough times. But he found a way to navigate through it. I still remember the day he came home and told us he wanted to go to Alliance University."

Emma: (Smiling) "That decision changed everything for him. It's like he found his place, his people. I'm proud of him for taking that step."

John: "And he's excelled there. Despite what happened on his last day of school, he didn't let it define him. He's become a fine young man."

Emma: (Emotionally) "He's our strength, just like we've been his. I believe in his journey, and I can't wait to see where life takes him."

John: (Looking at Alex's photos) From a small, nervous baby to the determined young man he is today, every phase has been a blessing.

Emma: (Wiping a tear) "Our family has been through a lot, but we've come out stronger. I hope he always knows we're here for him."

Alex: (smile) (to himself) I" should just go and better have a sleep, as if I was never here, Thank you Mom and dad, I am glad I was born."

The hours passed, and as the sun began to rise, casting a warm glow over the quiet house, Alex gathered his belongings. The time had come to leave the familiar behind and step into the unknown. With one last glance at the house that held both the echoes of his past and the potential for a different future, Alex took a deep breath and opened the front door, the journey to Alliance University awaited him, and as he stepped into the gentle light of a new day, Alex carried with him the weight of yesterday's pain and the fragile hope for a better tomorrow.

Dawn of a New Chapter

Alex: (nervously) "I can't believe the day's finally here. College."

Emma: (smiling) "You've grown so much, Alex. We're proud of you."

John: (patting his back) "Your mother's right. College is a new chapter. Embrace it."

Alex: (looking uneasy) "I know, but I'll miss you guys."

Emma: (hugging him) "And we'll miss you, sweetheart."

Alex: "Take care of yourself, I will be back" (smile)

The train journey was a time of reflection, an opportunity to shed the weight of yesterday's pain. Alex opened his diary one last time, glancing at the pages that chronicled his struggles. Closing it, he made a silent promise to himself – to approach Alliance University with an open heart, to embrace the chance for new friendships and experiences, as the train approached Alliance University, the anticipation grew. The anxiety that had once held him captive now transformed into a resilient hope. The platform came into view, and Alex, closed his diary, as with a smile, he gathered his belongings, stepping off the train onto the unfamiliar ground.

The last message he sent was to Chris:

I hope you and I never become batchmate or classmate again, but let's stick to be friends forever, I really appreciate that you came back and took me to the nurse, I will see you when I return, stay connected, :0

As he stood before the gate of Alliance University, a tapestry of possibilities is waiting to be explored. The campus buzzed with the energy of orientation day, students engaged in conversations, laughter echoing in the air. The weight of yesterday's pain felt lighter, replaced by the promise of a fresh start.

Taking a deep breath, Alex ventured into the vibrant tapestry of Alliance University. The echoes of his past lingered, but he carried them not as burdens but as stepping stones towards growth. The journey ahead was uncertain, but for the first time in a long while, Alex felt a flicker of excitement for the unwritten chapters awaiting him, and so, as he immersed himself in the bustling activities of orientation day, Alex embraced the challenges and opportunities that Alliance University presented. The echoes of yesterday began to fade, making room for the vibrant melodies of a new beginning. The journey had just begun, and Alex, despite his past, stood ready to carve his own path and Alex entered the gate.

The First day orientation sessions began
