The palace buzzed with excitement.
It was the day of the crowning ceremony— the day Luna Lyra would be crowned beside her mate, the soon-to-be recognized Alpha. The walls were draped in gold and blue cloths, and the scent of lavender-scented oil clung to the halls like perfume on skin. Every corner of the palace was alive with activity.
Since the previous Alpha had died suddenly from an illness which made him assume his duties early, Alpha Damien was finally going to be crowned and recognized as the Alpha, not just limited in name only now as he had taken a Luna.
Everyone was happy for him, except Danika's world.
She had long accepted that no one in the palace looked at her the same anymore. No one except for Urmaa and Mordred. Not after the punishment she'd survived. Not after the way she'd walked out, unscathed and still standing.
