Veyr
He had been angry at how his brother had dismissed the search and how Master Theron had moved on like Ryn was gone.
He's not dead yet, Veyr repeated silently, and continuously stared at the aethermark on his arm.
And then, just as the ceremony was about to start, everything changed.
A loud rumble echoed across the arena, and the sky darkened, dimming unnaturally. Then a burst of blinding white light erupted from the peak of the mountain, tearing through the sky.
A collective gasp spread across the crowd, and the arena grew noisy quickly.
"There is something in the sky!" someone shouted, and Veyr stood up slowly from his kneeling position and looked at the sky.
He gasped.
A massive white dragon burst from the mountain's peak, its wings wide and majestic. Then he noticed that every dragon across the arena began to rise, including the Emperor's dragon that was in the palace.
Veyr heard his dragon's roar as it joined the rest of the dragons.
