Chapter 81 - Chapter 81: Little Helaena

The sun sets.

Under the fish beam tree, the red leaves lie like a blanket.

Aemon lies flat on his back with his head raised, recalling the sudden incident that just occurred.

Really...soft and white.

"Aemon, what are you thinking about?"

Rhaenyra lies on his legs, fiddling with a red leaf in her hand.

"A certain female hooligan," he replied.

Aemon teased.

Rhaenyra immediately turned sideways, hiding the remaining blush on her face, and slipped off her snow-white shoulders.

After all, she is young, and her face is still thin.

Today, she was backed into a corner.

She had to find an answer and acted without hesitation.

After a while,

Rhaenyra peeked and whispered, "My father asked me to travel and choose a husband."

Aemon was not surprised and softly said, "Um."

He was slow to express his opinion, so he must have had a plan.

Rhaenyra raised her head slightly. Seeing that he did not respond, she hurriedly explained, "I want to find some allies on this tour.

"Not a bad idea."

Aemon commented.

"Aemon!"

Rhaenyra was annoyed and raised her hand to slap him.

It was not her decision.

Aemon pretended to be in pain and teased, "If you want to go, go. What's the use of telling me?"

Rhaenyra's face turned cold, and she stood up and started collecting stones.

Aemon glanced at her and immediately broke out in a cold sweat. What is this crazy woman going to do?

What is this crazy woman going to do?

Based on the fact that the first to strike is the strongest and the last to strike suffers, Aemon knew he had to act.

Aemon hugged her slender waist and threw her down.

"Ah!"

Rhaenyra screamed as she fell to the ground, her hips raised.

There was a lot of laughter and playfulness.

"If you want to go back to the Vale, I need a new ally."

Rhaenyra knelt on the ground and tilted

her head to tidy up her messy hair and said, "Alicent won't let me go. I'll fight her to the end." This time, Aemon rested his head on her soft thighs and said helplessly, "Alicent is just afraid of you. You two really aren't that bad."

"Hmph."

Rhaenyra didn't listen. She lowered her head to look at Aemon's face and said seriously, "Power is power. Power is strength."

Aemon suddenly opened his eyes at the familiar saying.

Rhaenyra reached out and held his face. Her silver-golden hair hung on her chest as she said sadly, "If I were powerful enough, you wouldn't have to go back to the Vale."

This is the concept she realized today.

If she were powerful enough, no one would dare disobey her.

Alicent would be obedient and close to her again.

Aemon could stay with her forever.

"If I am powerful enough."

Rhaenyra lowered her eyebrows and gently stroked the other's face with her white fingertips.

Aemon said, "You and I are made of fire, and dragons are power."

He thought it was necessary to get Rhaenyra's thoughts back on track so she wouldn't pursue illusory things.

Rhaenyra was slightly startled and said, "My dragon is too small."

Of the dragons with owners today, Syrax is likely the smallest and youngest.

He is shorter than Hailan, who is also a fourth-generation dragon.

"Dragons will grow up sooner or later."

Aemon smiled and said, "Wait until I finish developing the river valley. Then I'll take you to hone your dragon-riding skills."

Many unruly mountain clans are waiting for the dragon flame.

It would be perfect for helping Rhaenyra brush up on her combat skills.

"Aemon~"

Rhaenyra was very moved.

"Okay, it's time to go back."

Aemon was overwhelmed and struggled to get up.

Rhaenyra rolled her eyes and put away her rare positive emotions.

Then, she tied her skirt behind her back and smoothed out the pleats.

Her shoulders were still exposed—what a joke!

...

Night fell.

Dinner.

Aemon sat in a chair, silently thinking about his next move.

The city and town were built step by step.

The mountain clans must be wiped out.

However, he was short on manpower and urgently needed reinforcements.

Just then, other people arrived.

Rhaenyra changed into a red skirt and sat in her usual seat.

The two looked at each other; the latter's eyes were provocative.

She turned around, revealing her tight skirt.

Aemon's mouth curled up slightly, and he raised his glass to hide it.

The pungent smell of wine cheered him up.

"It seems that you two get along well."

Viserys strode over and looked at the two of them with a smile.

This was a far cry from his cold attitude that afternoon.

Harold, the commander of the Kingsguard, followed him and stood at the table with his chest puffed out. He glanced at His Royal Highness.

Aemon smiled, nodded, and greeted him. "Ser."

"Prince."

Harold's attitude was friendly, and there was love in his eyes for his nephew.

The two had known each other for a long time.

It was early in the year 112AC.

Ser Harold caught a cold, became bedridden, and nearly died.

At the critical moment, Aemon stopped Grand Maester Meros's "bloodletting treatment" and used common herbs from the valley to treat Harold.

The young, strong Kingsguard commander had a strong will to survive, and he did.

From then on, Harold was grateful and regarded His Royal Highness as his own nephew.

"What are you talking about?"

Alicent walked over slowly, followed by a group of children.

Aemon looked up and saw that she had changed from a light green skirt to a gorgeous black-and-red one.

"If you had come earlier, you would have heard it."

Rhaenyra said coldly, changing her expression.

Alicent smiled and sat down. "Your father decided to let you tour the Seven Kingdoms. There are countless young talents along the way. I hope you can find a good husband."

Rhaenyra raised her eyebrows and looked at her with cold eyes.

Aemon held his forehead and chose to be deaf and dumb.

He understood his uncle's suffering.

Caught between two women, even a hero would have to peel off a layer of skin.

"Okay, don't talk about politics at dinner."

Viserys waved his hand to ease the tension.

They waited for the servants to bring the dishes.

Looking at his nephew, he took the initiative to say, "Is there any news from your father?"

If the two parties are engaged, Daemon must be present.

"No."

Aemon shook his head. "He lives in the Stepstones and never sends messages."

The father and son have similar personalities.

Daemon didn't send him messages, and he didn't send Daemon messages.

It was enough for them to know that the other was still alive.

Viserys nodded slightly and changed the subject. "Rhaenyra is going to tour the Seven Kingdoms, visit those vassal nobles, and relax along the way."

He explained this to his daughter to avoid misunderstandings.

Aemon smiled.

Seeing that he didn't take it to heart, Viserys breathed a sigh of relief and secretly rejoiced.

The old man Meros's idea was really good.

When they heard that Rhaenyra was going to tour and choose a husband, their relationship visibly improved.

"What else do you need when you return to the Vale this time?"

Viserys was in a good mood and thought three hundred craftsmen was too stingy.

It wouldn't show his generosity as a king.

Aemon's eyes lit up, and he seized the opportunity: "I don't have any other requests, but I want to ask for something from the cellar of the Red Keep."

"What?"

Viserys asked, wondering if Aemon wanted to move Balerion's skull.

"It won't interfere with your worship of Balerion. It's just a relic gathering dust in a corner."

Aemon kept it a secret, fearing rejection if he revealed it.

"Okay, then."

Viserys was skeptical.

The promise had been made, and of course, he couldn't break it.

The two chatted harmoniously.

Alicent picked up her daughter, Helena, handed her to Aemon, and said, "You're leaving tomorrow, and the little ones miss you."

"Really?"

Aemon took the chubby little girl and sat her on his lap.

"Brother—"

Helena pouted and took a shell out of her pocket. She raised it over her head and handed it to her cousin.

"This is my little baby."

"Thank you."

Aemon was surprised and rubbed the little girl's head.
