After Malcolm left, Alaric also stood up, along with Elara, intending to leave. As a count, he was quite busy with things.
"You go and do your work. I will stay and talk with Seraphine for a while."
But Elara didn't stand up and rather waved her hand, seemingly annoyed. She still didn't like him letting Liora go unguarded.
"Ahem… very well. Let them talk. It's been some time since their last meeting."
Seeing that Elara was angry, Count Alaric was embarrassed. But he couldn't say much as it was indeed his mistake, although unintentional.
Besides, their relationship wasn't that good to begin with.
So Alaric just nodded and walked outside, with no intention of persuading Elara.
"I will show you the way."
Cedric also stood up and walked out of the room with the count after finding the situation awkward.
