Chapter 28 - Preparations

My day was super busy almost the moment I awoke. Cici, who has slept peacefully against my chest, was practically dragged out of bed by her mother, who somehow got in my house to do so, even though I had it locked. That was weird, but she didn't mean any harm by it, so I just let that go.

It was incredibly hard having a beautiful woman sleeping next to you and not have lewd thoughts of what we could get up to together. I had really good self control, so I honored the request to not get up to any frisky actions until after the marriage was complete. If anything, I had to push Cici off of me a number of times in order to fulfill that. It was hard to say the least.

The couple of times she ran her hand over my crotch at night, I will admit, I almost broke. With my newly awakened hormones hitting me full blast, I wanted nothing more than to fuck her right then and there, but years of not really feeling much in the way of sexual desires was helping me quite a bit. I had sex with Rachel on numerous occasions, but it wasn't really something I needed to do. It felt good for sure, but it was something I didn't need.

"You're looking good, Eli." Warren said as he studied my dress.

I had laughed when I was shown what was made for me for the wedding. Warren had explained that this village had adopted my world's customs for wedding atire as well as ceremony, as it was much nicer looking and organized than anything here. Whoever stole the idea from Earth, I had to thank them, because I could definitely work with this. It was a more normal aspect that I understood, at least as far as this world was concerned. Warren had no idea who it was, other than it was a keeper of the portal long ago who liked to frequent Earth. Now that I thought about it, there were many things that were taken from Earth and molded into everyday life here, but they were subtle enough for me not to really notice until I thought about it.

I was wearing a black tuxedo with a white undershirt, a black tie, and a nice pair of dress shoes. I had my hair tied back in a tight ponytail, and as I looked myself in the mirror, I had to admit to myself that I looked rather spiffy, all things considered. My red eyes really complemented the black clothing. The only complaint was that the clothes hugged my muscular frame a little too tightly for my liking, but it wasn't too bad that I would complain about it.

Warren came over and helped me straighten out my tie, and fixed my collar for me. He really was a nice man, and I found myself wishing that I had a father like this man growing up. Hell, the man began treating me like his own son immediately, which was definitely making weird warm feelings expand through my chest.

"We got about 10 minutes until we have to arrive at the village center. Gotta make sure you look your best, but you don't really need my help for that." Warren said, giving me a grin, and I saw the beginning of tears forming in his eyes.

"You all right?" I asked, and he quickly wiped his eyes, and nodded.

"Yeah, it's just a lot. My little girl is getting married, and to a man I truly respect. I'm just... a happy father." He said, and his words actually made my damn eyes start to sting.

"I... thank you, Warren." I said, and he patted my shoulder.

"No thanks are needed, and... I'm beginning to see you like one of my own at this point. If I can... I'd like to try my best to be the father you never had in your life. You deserve that, son." He said, and the stinging in my eyes turned to full blown tears as his words struck me in a way I never expected.

He went from patting my shoulders to pulling me into a hug, and I couldn't help but hug the slightly smaller man back.

"I'd really like that." I choked out as he patted my back.

He patted my back with affection I hadn't been given from my own father in a long time. For all of its faults, this world truly was a wondeful place. The people in this village were wonderful, and I vowed to do any and everything in my power to keep everyone safe from this point on, no matter the cost.

We stayed like that for a minute or so until he pulled away, and looked at me, his eyes red with the tears he had shed.

"It's time. Are you ready?" He asked me, and both of us wiped at our eyes at the same time, and I nodded.

"More than ready." I said, feeling the onset of butterflies in my stomach. I was actually nervous, but I was equally as excited.

"Come. Your bride awaits." He said, and my emotions soared, and my throat tightened as those words finally sunk in to their entirety.

My bride, Cici, was waiting for me. The woman I held closest to my heart, was going to become mine, as I would become hers. Not too long ago, I had been scorned and betrayed by the two people I thought would always have my back. And then, just when I thought my life would be loveless and lonely for the rest of my numbered days, a fluffy eared angel came into my life, and turned everything around for me. I owed her everything, and I would do any and everything for her.

With my suit straightened and my tears wiped away, I made my way with Warren outside, and together, we headed towards the center of town.

"You look beautiful!" Talia said as she gushed over Cici.

"My Cecilia... oh how you've grown. You look stunning." Anya said, wiping at tears that wouldn't stop streaking down her cheeks.

Cici had to admit, the dress that was made for her was stunning. It was a flowing white dress that matched her hair, going all the way down past her knees, with a cape falling to the floor behind her, looking elegant and refined. She had heard that this attire had come from Eli's home world, and it was definitely a lovely fashion that she was glad that they decided to go with. It was all complimented with these cute, if uncomfortable white high heeled shoes.

"Are you nervous?" Talia asked, and Cici looked at her incredulously.

"No, I'm just getting married to the love of my life. Why would I be?" Cici dead panned, and Talia held up her hands.

"Okay, okay, dumb question. Just... trying to help." Talia said, her face falling, which made Cici feel terrible almost immediately.

She wrapped Talia in a gentle embrace.

"I'm sorry, my nerves are just getting to me." Cici said softly, and Talia hugged her back.

"It's okay. I get it... it was a dumb question." Talia said, and Cici giggled.

"Don't say that. I just overreacted." Cici replied, and Talia chuckled right back.

"It's almost time. Are you ready?" Her mother asked, and Cici smiled as she walked over to her dresser, and checked herself out in the mirror.

She glanced down at the ring Eli had gotten her. She left on a cloth for safe keeping while she got dressed. She wanted it to look perfect, and not get scuffed or damaged. She picked it up, and smiled as she admired its beauty.

As she was turning it over in her hands, she noticed something she hadn't seen before. There were words engraved on the inside that she hadn't even seen before, so she looked closely, examining it with curiosity. Her breath caught in her throat.

"Cici, my dear kitten."

Tears streaked down her cheeks, a smile adorning her face as she held the ring close to her chest, feeling her quickened heartbeat.

"Yours forever." She whispered.

"Are you okay dear?" Anya asked, and Cici nodded, and then showed both of the people in the room what had her emotional.

"Oh wow... he truly is a wonderful man." Talia said, and there was a wistfulness to her voice that Cici caught.

Her mother teared up again, but smiled warmly at the words.

"You found a man who truly loves you... I'm so happy." She said as she used a cloth to wipe as her eyes, and then wiped Cici's eyes for her.

"Yeah... I sure did. He's... perfect." Cici said softly.

Anya then held her hand out to Cici.

"Are you ready?" She asked, and with a shakey hand, Cici took it, and nodded firmly.

"More than I've ever been about anything." Cici said.

With her hand in her mothers, and her other hand being taken by Talia, they made their way out of their home, where Eli would already be waiting. Her heart warmed as she thought about his gentle smile, and his loving embrace.

"I'm coming my love." Cici thought, as she made her way to the village center with her two biggest supporters by her side.
