Terroth led me to the front counter, and I was was greeted by a a cute little brunette woman with brown eyes in a green and white outfit that covered her body from head to toe. She directed a polite and friendly smile at us as we approached her.
"Hello Terroth, how are you today? Did your contract go over well?" She asked with a smile, and Terroth grinned.
"I'm doing well enough, Kelsa. Pretty packed." He said, and then looked over his shoulder at Tempest, before turning his attention back to Kelsa, who did not miss his look, "And... kind of. The Goblins are dead... but they were already dead when we got there."
Kelsa raised an eyebrow.
"Already dead?" She asked, and Terrorh grimaced.
"Forest Troll. Killed and ate them. Almost killed us." He said, and Kelsa gasped, and ran around the counter, a worried look on her eyes.
She checked over Terroth like a doting mother, and it actually almost made me chuckle. I could tell she cared about the man, and then my eyebrows rose as I saw the slight blush on Terroth's cheeks of all people. It was nice to see that there were people here that didn't care about stuff like race and whatnot, and in Kelsa's case, she really didn't seem to mind. The way Terroth's flushed like a nervous teen was a funny sight to behold.
"Kelsa, I'm fine." He said, his voice softer than I was already used to.
"The troll??" She asked, a worried look in hed eyes, "Forest Trolls are B ranked monsters, Terroth!"
Terroth put a hand on her shoulder, and then pointed towards me.
"My new friend here killed it. Killed it like it was nothing." He said, and then whispered to her, "He punched it once, and blew the upper half of its body apart."
Her eyes widened as she looked at me in disbelief. Then, I saw her go a little ridgid as she took in my appearance, and my choice of clothing. Still, she was a professional, and squashed those feelings down pretty quickly.
"You're kidding, right? That would mean... what Rank are you?" She asked, and I just smiled.
"High enough. I have the troll with me. Or, what's left of it, anyways." I said, and Terroth took over after that.
"He also is interested in becoming an Adventurer, and my team endorces him. From the sounds of it, he wants to go solo." He said, which made Kelsa's eyes widen even further.
"That's... I mean, you can, but it's practically suicide." She said, but I just waved it off.
"I'll be fine." I said, and Terroth let out a small chuckle.
"It's kind of indicative of what he can do that I believe him." He said, and Kelsa just looked between the both of us, and then sloely nodded.
"Okay... You have the troll with you? Is it in a spacial storage?" She asked, and I nodded.
"Something like that." I said, and she nodded slowly again.
"Okay." She said, grabbing a few papers from under her counter, and then grabbed a pen, "What is your name, sir?"
"Elias Crosse." I said, and then spelled it as she wrote it down on one of the papers. Once she was done, she gave me a professional smile.
"If you follow me, I can take you to a room where you can drop the troll corpse. An appraiser will come and look at it, and once we verify what it is, we can pay you for it. Forest Trolls are worth a good amount, and even more if you leave the remains with the Guild. After that, I just am going to have you fill out a few forms, and take a couple of practical tests. Is that okay?" She asked, and I nodded eagerly.
My biggest source of joy in this world had been Cici, as well as her family. That had grown to the village itself, and the people of that village. Now, my mom was here, and as much as I didn't like to admit it... I was glad Rachel was safe. She just better not hurt Talia's poor heart. She was a real sweet girl.
This though, joining a fucking Adventurer's Guild in a fantasy world? You'd be hard pressed to pull me away from this. Soon, Terroth and I were following Kelsa though the back halls of the Guild, and I couldn't hide my smirk as I saw Terroth's eyes following Kelsa's round ass. To be fair, it was nice. She soon led us to a door on the far left of the guild, and with a turn and pull, she swung it open, leading us into a mostly large and empty room. Well, the dude in the coat sitting on a stool in the back was the only thing in here, and he was currently smoking something out of a pipe. It smelled like... is that weed?
"Appraiser Rexford." Kelsa said with a flat tone.
"Kelsa." He said, waving his hand, "Good day to you as well, Terroth. You get those Goblins?"
"Well..." He said, and then went into an explanation of what happened.
Once he was done, he pulled a couple of fingers, and an ear out of his pack.
"This was all we could find." He said, and Rexford stood up, and walked forward, collecting them.
"I see... I'm not sure if you'll get rhe full bounty for this job, but... I'll try and figure something out. You all got put in a dangerous situation." Rexford said, and then turned to me, "He said you killed the troll with a single punch? Can you show me the remains?"
I nodded, and then accessed my storage. Kelsa and Rexford's eyes opened wide as the small black portal opened in front of me, and I shoved my arm inside of it. Then a magician that pulled shit out of his hat that clearly didn't fit, I pulled the troll's remains out of it.
"Holy hell... I'm not sure what to be more impressed with." Rexford breathed, looking at the troll's lower half, and then at me.
"That's not an spacial storage I know of..." Kelsa said, and I just shrugged.
"It's a skill." I said, and then just looked at me in disbelief still.
"I... see..." Rexford said, and then shook his head as he went back to the troll, "You really did blow this thing apart... barely any of its Torso remains, but the lower half is in pristine condition... bur the fact that you killed it yourself is impressive, and a dead Forest Troll is worth a decent amount of coin just by that alone."
"Sounds cool." I said with a smile.
He just stared at me, and then actually laughed, and shook his head.
"I think I like you, boy. You are quite fascinating." He said, and then held his hand out to me, "My full name is Rexford Timone."
I took his hand in mine.
"Elias Crosse." I said, shaking his hand firmly.
"Strong grip." He said, before looking over at the troll again, "Right... I suppose I better get to this. Kelsa, you can take him to get registered. I assume that's what all of those papers are for?" He asked.
"Yes. I'll take him to do all of that while you do this. Terroth, are you going to stay with us?" Kelsa asked, and Terroth grinned.
"Wouldn't miss it." He said, smiling at Kelsa, who blushed from his attention.
"I do hope you'll keep doing interesting things while you are here." Rexford said, and I laughed at that.
"I'll do my best to not disappoint." I replied.
With that, we followed Kelsa out of the room while Rexford had at it.
"First, we'll test you to make sure you meet the strength requirement, testing what you can do and what you can take, and then we'll gauge your magic. It's mainly a formality at this point if you truly were the one to kill the troll. Still.... it has to be done." She said, and I just nodded enthusiastically.
This reminded my of all those shows where the MC takes the tests, and knocks it out of the park with how OP they were. So, with more excitement than I wanted to admit, we followed her down the halls, and towards a pair of large double doors.
