Chapter 59 - Insufficient Achievement

On the high stone ceiling of the hall, there are four thick black iron chains hanging. These four iron chains extend from the four corners and are cast together in the center of the ceiling. At the intersection of the iron chains is a hideous metal structure that looks like the claws of some ghosts. These claw-like twisted metals form a cage, firmly grasping a black crystal that looks more than one meter long.

Just as Wei Lili described: half a meter to one meter long, slender and irregular shape, and a black texture like smoked glass. A faint red light can be seen at one end of the crystal.

When the three rushed in before, they had no time to care about what was hanging on the roof of the hall. Lily looked up, but the werewolf girl didn't recognize this thing and thought it was just an ordinary decoration. But now she and Kevin both know what it is: the devil's stone.

Kevin felt his data terminal vibrate, and then a flat and emotionless voice sounded in his mind: "This machine is really sad..." "Haha, shut up."

"I can't be so unlucky..." Lily sat down on the ground, thinking about it, and said the same thing, "I'm just a little wolf cub, I haven't even had a boyfriend yet..."

"Don't make trouble," Kevin reached out and knocked on Lily's head, "It's just a stone at present! It may not be able to turn the devil..."

Wei Lili's indifferent voice came from the side: "Why do you think the defense in the underground palace suddenly started? Why did all those armors wake up?"

Kevin's forehead was sweating: Is there any need to say this? Obviously the devil stone is moving!

"Tell me, does this mean that my mission has encountered a huge crisis beyond human control?" Kevin finally remembered that he had a backer, and called his data terminal in his mind, "Is it okay for me to request support now?"

"It's not time yet, and you're asking for support before you even see the real enemy? Aren't you ashamed?"

Kevin immediately jumped up and cursed: "Then do you really have to wait until I'm about to be killed before you can request support?!"

"My employees in the Great Spacetime Administration basically request support when they're about to be killed."

Kevin almost fainted from a breath stuck in his bronchus, but what happened next made him know that he must not faint, because something more exciting had just begun: a low rumble came faintly from directly above, and then he felt the entire underground hall began to shake!

Countless dust and gravel fell from the dilapidated rock ceiling like rain. Before the rumbling sound ended, the hall began to hear waves of heart-wrenching rock cracking and friction. Everything around began to shake, and the four huge iron chains above the head also swayed with a "squeaky" sound. The black iron claws that fixed the Demon Stone and seemed to be very solid actually... actually loosened one by one under the pull of the four heavy chains. Can you believe it? !

The moment the underground hall began to shake, Kevin had the urge to run out, at least he could find a corner to stay and maybe he could survive, but when he saw the movement of the pile of iron chains on the roof, he even forgot to run. At that moment, the sights of the three people, including Wei Lili and Lili, were firmly fixed on the Demon Stone hanging above their heads. The small stone seemed to be directly tied to everyone's heart. Every time it shook, people's hearts twitched. However, even Wei Lili did not dare to fly over and catch it. They could only watch the black iron claws that fixed the Demon Stone slowly loosen at a speed visible to the naked eye, and then the first iron chain finally couldn't support the accumulated illness of hundreds of years of weathering, and "crashed" from the intersection of the four iron chains...

The heavy iron chain silently slid through an arc in the air, and in the eyes of the three people, it seemed to be in slow motion and slowly hit the stone wall in the corner of the hall, and finally made a deafening noise: bang——

The black iron claws that fixed the Demon Stone also fell apart under the effect of this last straw. With the collapse of all the chains, the one-meter-long black crystal finally fell down and emitted a dazzling red light when it touched the ground.

Kevin had thousands of words in his heart, which were condensed into one sentence: So when making such a critical thing, why bother with Gothic aesthetics! It's all used to fix the Demon Stone. Will it kill you to just build a stupid and rough iron cage? ! Which bastard designer made those black claws that look so dangling!

"Run!" The fur on Lily's ears and tail exploded the moment the Demon Stone landed, and she screamed and rushed to the nearest passage. However, just as she started, a red halo spread out in all directions with the Demon Stone as the center, sweeping the entire hall in the blink of an eye. Kevin saw countless Leta runes suddenly appear on the walls of the hall, but in just a moment, these ancient runes dimmed one by one, and bursts of cracking sounds like shattering glass came from all directions.

The seal of the Demon Chamber itself only lasted for a few seconds before it was completely destroyed!

When these Leta runes shattered and dissipated one by one, Kevin heard the familiar sound again: clatter, clatter...

In addition to the passage that had completely collapsed and blocked, there were three exits in the hall, and now waves of armor friction and collision sounds were coming from those exits. Lily only had time to run a few meters before she stopped abruptly: countless pairs of blood-red red lights emerged from the darkness, and armored undead, more frightening than before, were staggering into the hall from three directions!

When the runes of the demon chamber failed, these undead guards could also enter the chamber.

Moreover, the undead armor that appeared this time was obviously different from the previous ones: they were wrapped in layers of gray mist, and the red light behind the helmet visor as eyes was brighter. Obviously, the power of the demon stone affected the guards in the underground palace. As Wei Lili said, these armored heroes are called sacred guardians, but in essence they are still vengeful spirits driven by obsession. The technology used to cast them is inextricably linked to the devil. Originally, there would be no problem when the underground palace was sealed intact, but now the demon stone is completely out of control, and these guards have become another disaster in the blink of an eye.

"Those demon hunters who are courting death." Wei Lili angrily cursed, but before she could take action, there was another louder rumble from above the hall!

More earth, rocks and gravel collapsed from the four corners of the hall, and even a huge stone slab broke away from the ceiling and hit Lily squarely. The werewolf girl didn't even have time to look up when she heard the wind. A vicious dog pounced to the side and finally avoided the fatal blow - but the stone slab still slightly caught her tail. Kevin only heard a dog's scream of being stepped on the tail.

"What's going on up there?" Kevin felt that the continuous rumbling sound was not like the normal collapse of the underground palace at all, but a bit like an explosion. "Why does it sound like a bomb to me?"

As soon as he finished speaking, he heard a cracking sound from the roof in the middle of the hall, followed by a large pile of stone slabs and soil falling down. After a cloud of dust, the bright moonlight appeared in front of the three people: a big hole was opened in the middle of the hall.

This earth-shattering commotion seemed to scare even the tin cans around. It might also be that the moonlight that suddenly fell in made the guards fall into confusion. In short, all the hollow armors stopped moving for a short time, and Kevin and the other three took advantage of this gap to look at the big hole in the middle of the hall: What's the matter with this hole that suddenly appeared? And it leads directly to the ground?

"Can we go up this time?" Lily jumped to Kevin's side with a grin, her tail trembling, she looked at the hole above the hall, her golden eyes full of curiosity.

"Wait a minute, the situation is weird." Wei Lili blew away the dust in front of her eyes with a strong wind, waved her hand to signal Lily not to act rashly, and at the same time Kevin saw a rope suddenly hanging down from the big hole.

What happened next made him want to curse.

The "demon hunter" Nangong slid down the rope...
