Why Take a Leave?
Rachel hurriedly called to ask for a leave without even thinking of the reason.
She couldn't say she overslept, so she said, "I have a sore back, leg cramps, and my legs hurt!" It was the truth, after all.
Holly was surprised Rachel could take leave for such reasons. She thought maybe Rachel was sick.
Holly was jealous that Rachel was the CEO's wife, but she quickly smiled and said, "Okay, take a good rest."
After hanging up the phone, Holly felt even more unsettled as she looked at the pile of unfinished work in front of her.
She couldn't concentrate at all.
Rachel finally got out of bed after asking for leave. She walked step by step to the bathroom, weak and sore after being tossed around by Kellan all night.
Just the distance from the bed to the bathroom felt unbearably long.
