*Sigh*
"Okay! Now, where am I?" Nox pondered out loud.
"Damn, you! Ugh! Where have you taken me?" Jai blurted out, still a little wobbly after the kick to his groin.
A few moments ago, the two had been fighting over a mystery rock on a tiny island, then the mystery rock ignited into a blinding light before whisking the two away to this place. They were currently standing in front of a tall dark mountain illuminated by the glowing colors emanating from the occasional crack or fissures along its surface. Embedded in its surface were countless swords, which had been stabbed into the ground. The distant horizon was a blur of black and gray fog, while the peak of the mountain was concealed by thunderclouds threatening to scorch the ground below at any time. Then suddenly, the two heard a voice echoing inside their heads.
'CHILDREN OF GREAT FORTUNE CHOSEN BY FATE! I WELCOME THEE TO SPIRIT SWORD MOUNTAIN!'
"SPIRIT SWORD MOUNTAIN?! I THOUGHT THAT WAS JUST A MYTH?!"
"Wow! So cool and interesting! Anyways, could you let go of my rock?" Nox said, showing more interest in the magnetized rock she was trying to pull off Jai's hand than she was in the mythical mountain of swords before them.
"Hmph! Fine! Who needs a stupid rock when I have a whole mountain of treasures to-!"
'THE PEBBLE WHICH THOU PICKED FROM THE ROAD! BRING IT TO ME AT THE MOUNTAINS PEAK, AND I SHALL BESTOW UPON THOU THE GREATEST SWORD AMONGST THEM ALL! BUT SHOULD THOU FALTER, YOU MAY TAKE BUT ONE BLADE FROM MY MOUNTAIN AS YOUR OWN!' the voice interrupted just as Jai was about to let go.
"On the other hand, I suppose this pebble is my property! Now let go!" Jai said, changing his mind immediately after hearing those words.
This, of course, led to a wrestling match between the two, as both of them refused to let go. At first Jai just tried to tear the stone out of Nox's hand by force, but kept failing as Nox had strengthened her limbs with aura this time to avoid her body from being torn apart in this tug of war. She also realized that trying to pull the darn thing wasn't going to work that well, seeing as Jai was using magnets to cheat. Hence she had opted for a different strategy.
*Bang*
"Nice try, but I'm not letting you hit me there aga-! Whoa!"
*Swoosh*
*Slam*
Nox had decided to attack Jai directly in hopes that maybe a violent distraction would make him slip up. She would sweep his feet, throw him over her shoulders, attempting headlocks multiple times, and constantly targeted his eyes, or crotch which he fortunately managed to block in time. Jai tried to fight back, but whenever Nox didn't dodge his attacks, she just used her aura technique, 'kinetic redirection', to send the impact right back at his face or into the ground. Due to her aura and superior martial arts, Nox basically just pummeled him one-sidedly the entire time, with Jai's only visible accomplishment being the giant afro he gave her by shooting lethal amounts of electricity into her body.
*Bang*
*Zap*
"IT'S NOT YOUR PROPERTY! I PAID FOR THIS ROCK! NOW LET GO!" Nox shouted as she swept his leg.
*Zap*
"Ugh! DAMN IT! GET OFF ME! YOU WOULDN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT! WITH YOUR FLIMSY BODY, DO YOU TRULY BELIEVE YOU WOULD MAKE IT TO THE TOP WITHOUT DROPPING IT?" Jai shouted, his grip on the rock in their shared grasp being the only thing keeping him from falling down.
"WHY THE FUCK WOULD I CARE ABOUT SOME OLD SCHMUCKS INHERITENCE TRIAL! I JUST WANT MY ROCK DAMN IT! NOW LET GO, BEFORE THIS GETS AWKWARD!" Nox shouted as she yanked him back up on his feet by the rock, then clutching it with both hands as she tried to swing herself between his legs, which would have sent your regular mortal rolling forwards.
*Swoosh*
"THE ONLY AWKWARD THING HERE IS YOUR FIXATION ON THIS STUPID ROCK!" Jai said, using his nascent soul strength to pull her back through the space between his legs so fast she swung a full 180 degrees around his body before stopping, placing her directly above his head.
"OH REALLY! THAT IS THE ONLY AWKWARD THING YOU'VE NOTICED?" Nox said, as her skirt was pulled in the wrong direction by gravity while she was balancing on one hand atop the rock Jai was holding above his head, showcasing the underwear made out of dead fish underneath.
"Wait, what the hell? Is that a fish's head on your crotch?"
In response to Jai's words, Nox used her free hand to press down the button on her underwear.
*Click*
"Like what you see?" Spoke the bass hanging in the center of her panties.
At some point while swimming around the chaos plane, Nox had been messing around as she does, and while in the middle of doing a bit, her panties were eaten by a passing fish she had not accounted for. So, after failing to track down the bass that swallowed her underwear, instead of just looking through her spatial ring for another pair like a normal person, or straining herself to make some with her spirit core, she had decided to make this scaly pair with a talking fish head out of the dead sea-creatures she had killed along the way. Unexpectedly, this odd decision seemed to have paid off.
"Pft! What the fuck!" Jai chuckled out.
In a mix of surprised confusion, and a bit of humor, Jai unintentionally turned off his qi technique that caused the stone to stick to his hand. Though the rock is still functionally a magnet, the electric charge drawing it towards his hands disappeared, and Nox did not let that chance slip her by.
*Swoosh*
"Argh! Shit! Ugh! YOU! I'LL KILL-!"
Nox, activating the enchantments on her arm to speed up her movements, pierced her finger into Jai's right eye. Throughout this battle, Nox had mostly refrained from using her body enchantments for exactly this kind of situation, so she could catch him by surprise. The bones in her finger had broken as a result, but Jai's eyeball had been permanently damaged by that eye-poke as is clear by the viscous substance leaking out of his pierced pupil. She then repositioned herself so she could stomp his head, using it as a platform as she jumped away from him and started running towards spirit sword mountain.
Jai was of course pissed when he recovered, but his complexion turned pale as he realized that his hand that had held on to the rock was now empty. While he was distracted by the hole in his eye, Jai had loosened his grip on the rock, allowing Nox to pull it out of his hand as she jumped away.
"YOU BITCH! GET BACK HERE!" Jai screamed, as he jumped into the air while doing a superman pose with his fist aimed forwards…
*Thud*
Only to fall flat on his face a moment later, landing only a few meters too short of his target.
"Damn it! What the hell!"
"THIS IS A NO FLIGHT-ZONE! DUMBASS! SMELL YOU LATER THUNDER-SWEAT!" Nox shouted as she continued running.
Jai, short tempered as he was, did not stay down for very long, as he soon came running after Nox, with his face completely red from anger.
