Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Whisper of the Forgotten

Kael wandered the moonlit forest, a blur of motion hidden in absolute silence.

"Skill: Perfect Camouflage. Passive."

He could hear his heartbeat. He could hear the wind shifting around the trees. Nothing escaped him.

His next target: Selene, the team's healer.

Gentle voice. Kind eyes. Soft lies.

She had stood furthest away during the betrayal, pretending to look away as they stabbed him.

But her silence screamed the loudest.

She now served at the Temple of Light — healing nobles, adored by peasants.

Kael entered under the guise of a shadow.

"Skill: Face Veil. Active."

"Effect: Prevents recognition. Cannot be recorded."

He walked through the grand marble halls. Acolytes bowed. Priests offered blessings.

None knew who passed among them.

Selene was inside the sanctuary. Singing. Smiling.

"She pretends nothing happened."

He stepped forward. She paused, sensing something off — then smiled politely.

"Welcome, child. May the goddess heal your—"

Kael raised his hand.

"Skill: Truth Chain."

Chains erupted from the floor, wrapping around her. Her eyes widened in panic.

"K-Kael…?! H-How…?"

"Speak the truth."

Tears formed instantly. Not from guilt — but fear.

"I-I didn't want to hurt you! They made me—!"

Kael stared, unblinking.

"Skill: Lie Filter. Passive."

"Status: 87% Falsehood."

"Skill: Silence."

She could no longer speak.

He walked closer, voice barely above a whisper.

"You watched me die. And prayed to forget it."

"Skill: Soul Lock."

"Skill: Erasure Blade."

The light in her eyes faded.

Another memory removed from the world.
