Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Hostility?

"You call this the proper way to greet a young girl?" Yali quickly stepped forward, shielding Na'er with both arms, her expression flustered as she blocked Gu You from getting too close.

"Mm, you're right," Gu You nodded solemnly, as if seriously reflecting on himself.

"It's time we talked business," Yali said, crossing her arms protectively while Na'er peeked nervously from behind her — this time not even daring to show half her face.

"Alright," Gu You replied, pulling out a small stool from who-knows-where, sitting upright with his chest puffed out, his bright round eyes locked onto Yali expectantly.

"You— ah, forget it," Yali sighed helplessly. "Your martial soul is extremely special. It has three unusual energy auras, including one extreme-attribute aura, which is already rare beyond belief. But more importantly, your second soul ring, the one linked to mental attacks, is incredibly strong — it's a soul-shaking mental strike, which can cause devastating psychic trauma. That alone would be enough to attract attention. But no, the real issue is the aura of destruction you carry, which feels similar to that of an evil soul master.

"At my level, I can sense it clearly. Your second soul skill carries a faint trace of grieving souls. The aura is weak, but strong enough to cause serious misunderstandings."

Gu You froze. 'Grieving souls? Wait — I've never harmed anyone, have I?'

Seeing the confused look on his face, Yali let out a small laugh. "Alright, release your soul rings and let the soul spirit manifest. Let me take a look."

Gu You seemed to realize something. The soul rings beneath his feet rose up, and with a dragon's proud roar, his spirit flared to life, shaking the sky itself. Even Yali, for all her strength, paled slightly under the weight of the dragon's presence.

But then — another, lighter dragon's call rang out.

Gu You and Yali both turned, startled, to look at Na'er.

A gleaming, snow-white spear appeared in the little girl's hands, a soft purple soul ring glowing at its base. Along the spear's shaft, delicate dragon patterns shimmered faintly, exuding a soft, pale white glow.

The Silver Dragon Spear! It was Na'er's martial soul.

Roar!

The dragon's cry from her spear resonated, and in an instant, Gu You felt his chest tighten. Dark purple dragon scales began creeping up over his skin as a surge of bloodlust flooded his vision, his eyes locking hungrily onto Na'er.

Yali, realizing immediately that something was wrong, released a wave of gentle green light, wrapping it carefully around Gu You. Within moments, his swelling aura was suppressed, the dragon scales receding as he slowly regained his human form.

Na'er, meanwhile, stood stiffly, her violet eyes wide with disbelief. She had just felt… bloodline suppression!

Her memory had largely recovered by now, even if her strength remained limited. She knew that even in the human world, even with the protection of Qingtian Douluo and Holy Spirit Douluo acting as her teachers and guardians, her own companion had dispatched two ferocious beasts to safeguard her personally. And yet — despite all that, she, as a split soul of the Dragon God, had just felt a bloodline suppression from this human boy!

'What kind of martial soul does he have?!'

In all her fragmented memories, Na'er couldn't recall any dragon species or spirit lineage that matched what she had just encountered.

Yali's heart tightened slightly. 'So… there's hostility between them.'

This wasn't hostility between the two children personally, no. It was hostility between their martial souls — an inherited animosity that couldn't easily be avoided, even if the people involved were innocent.

Gu You clutched his head in pain, gasping as a vision flared in his mind: two colossal dragons locked in fierce battle, roaring as they tore through sky and earth. He could feel the deep-seated tremors of his own martial soul — the bottomless fury and unwillingness to bow.

After a long moment, the tension slowly eased.

Gu You lifted his gaze to meet Na'er's. Na'er, too, glanced at him, her eyes filled with curiosity. But it only lasted a moment — the next second, she quickly lowered her head again, hiding shyly behind Yali.

"Alright, you two should just get familiar with each other for now," Yali said, resting her chin on her hands with a calm expression. "Don't worry about the hostility too much. It's easy enough to resolve. You just need to spend time near each other while cultivating. I'll monitor any flare-ups and help suppress them. Once your auras gradually adjust to each other, the hostility will fade naturally."

"That would be ideal," Gu You muttered. Then his eyes lit up slightly. "Oh — godmother, I think I know where the 'grieving soul' issue comes from."

"Oh? Tell me," Yali said, perking up with interest.

Gu You fell silent for a moment, sorting his thoughts. "My first soul spirit was a sub-dragon-type — a Tyrannosaurus rex. From what I understand, that species is basically extinct now. But my master still had a few ten-year defective ones, and by fusing and refining their gene remnants, they created a usable spirit. Back then, through sheer luck, I ended up picking one of those defective spirits.

"And during the fusion process, I saw something…"

Yali and Na'er both leaned in slightly, eyes glimmering with curiosity. 'Saw what?'

Gu You took a deep breath and described everything he had experienced in that dreamlike fusion: the fragments, the strange visions, the twisted resentment locked inside the remnants.

Yali's brows knit tightly together as she listened, while Na'er's eyes darkened slightly. Without realizing it, her small hands clenched tightly at her sides.

'Wretched humans…' Na'er thought quietly.

"No wonder," Yali murmured after a long silence. "That's a unique kind of soul spirit grievance — belonging solely to the spirit itself. I wondered why your aura felt so off. Turns out, it's because of the hidden resentment built into its creation.

"Hmph! That damn Spirit Transferring Tower — always willing to sacrifice anything in the name of profit and research. But well, none of that matters now. What matters is…"

She gave Gu You a mildly scolding look. "You're finally back with us. That's what's important, don't you think?"

"Ah! Y-yeah, you're right — reunion matters most!" Gu You laughed sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head. "And now I even have a little sister. Don't worry, I'll definitely become… the strongest soul master!"

As he said it, his mind flashed briefly to his grandmother and Shen Yue.

Yes, reunions mattered. Even if he hadn't yet reunited with everyone, the family in front of him — this was real too.

"Hmph! You, the strongest soul master?" Yali snorted softly.

With a wave of her hand, she whisked Gu You and Na'er away, their figures disappearing from the spot.

Inside a grand hotel in Shrek City, Yali sat watching in mild astonishment as Na'er devoured food at an astonishing pace.

'She eats… this much? Won't she get fat?' Yali wondered to herself, wide-eyed.

Gu You, on the other hand, had already lost his appetite. For the first time, he was witnessing what it truly meant to have a pure dragon bloodline's dietary needs. Compared to him, Na'er was eating at least eight or ten times more.

'Ha! Let's see anyone dare call me a glutton ever again,' he thought, quietly stunned.

Na'er, meanwhile, seemed blissfully unaware. Her delicate little hands worked swiftly, sending dish after dish into her mouth with the calm precision of a master — century-old dragonfish tendon, hundred-year blood beefsteak, heavenly spirit dishes packed with rare energy materials… she ate them all, one after another, without hesitation.

It was almost comical: a small, stunningly beautiful girl, delicate in appearance, who ate like a ravenous beast, tearing through heavenly delicacies without mercy.

"Excuse me, sir and madam — your bill, please," a smiling server approached politely.

"How much is it?" Yali asked confidently.

"Five million federal coins!"

"Alright, that's— wait, what?!" Yali's expression shifted. Five million?! That was outrageous! Even as the deputy pavilion master of the Sea God's Pavilion, her monthly salary was only two million.

To be fair, Yali rarely cared about money; with her status, her reputation alone was enough to cover almost any expense. But — that only applied when people recognized her. Clearly, this little hotel staffer had no idea who she was.

"Is there a problem, ma'am? If you—" the server began, sensing something was off, but a calm voice cut him off.

"I'll cover it," Gu You said, pulling out a red card from his storage ring, heart aching slightly.

During his three years of forging, Gu You had occasionally sold some of his finished products, so he'd managed to earn a decent sum — nearly ten million coins. Of course, he couldn't have made that much on his own; part of the funds came from government subsidies deposited directly into his account.

What the server didn't know was that the card Gu You handed over was one of the rarest within the Federation: a red soul-forging special card, distributed only by top government departments. Holders of this card could essentially borrow limitless funds from the government, with nearly no restrictions…
